I had the same problem. When I had the SAME design in all the places (Ultralight-S, Regular-S, etc.) it worked! However, I wanted to use my Customised Symbol in Pages - and it was not possible!! I could only copy the image and not the symbol. Two days of frustrating work down the drain. Customised Symbols can not be used as a font - and that was what I wanted!
