Hello, Yes I'm using -setActivationPolicy: as a workaround for setting the icon programmatically, and not because the app pops in and out of the background As for the icons: they are built in to the app (in fact they're PNGs and not even .icns if that info is important, both options were available but PNGs introduced less complexity to the codebase) Is the wrong path wanting to change the icon in the dock or the way I'm doing it? I'm not exactly sure

Thank you, "syspolicy_check" was a great help and got me to fixing the problems (mostly dangling LC_RPATH) and everything is finally working fine now. And yes I currently am using vscode but will seriously consider moving to Xcode to avoid similar problems from coming up in the future
