Did you do it using sendMessage or transferUserInfo?

I tried sample project, and yes, it works, but I can't background messaging in my own project. Could you please tell me if the watch widget extension is necessary for receiving message from closed app? or Or, what exactly is necessary to enable background messaging? The documentation is a bit confusing. I just want app’s didReceive to be triggered when I send a message from the watch using sendMessage
