iOS App Icon Stuck on Default Capacitor 'Blue X' Placeholder
Summary After replacing every PNG in AppIcon.appiconset with the correct branded heart icon, the installed iOS app on a real iPhone (built and deployed via Xcode, not TestFlight web clip) still displays the default Capacitor 'blue X' placeholder icon on the home screen. The icon files in the repo are confirmed to be the new artwork, but iOS shows the old placeholder. Environment App: ImpulseAlly (Capacitor wrapper around hosted TanStack Start web app) Bundle ID: com.impulseally.app Capacitor iOS, deployment target iOS 15.0 Xcode 17E202, iOS SDK 26.4 (per derived-data log) Install method: Xcode → Run on physical device (not Safari 'Add to Home Screen', not TestFlight) Web shell URL: https://impulseally.com (server.url in capacitor.config.ts) What the user sees On the iPhone home screen, the app icon is the default Capacitor placeholder — a stylized blue 'X' / Capacitor logo on a white background. The expected icon is a sage-green rounded square with a white heart. Please ask for more information if I have not provided what you need. I have a file that I can share with everything I've tried.

CarPlay Simulator (from Additional tools) stuck on "Connecting to phone" since March 4th
We're experiencing an issue where the CarPlay Simulator (from Apple Developer Additional Tools) stopped connecting to our iPhones as of March 4th, 2025. The simulator gets stuck indefinitely on "Connecting to phone" and never completes the pairing. Environment App: Oracle Field Service iOS app (with CarPlay support) Tool: CarPlay Simulator from Apple Developer Additional Tools (developer.apple.com/download/all/) Issue start date: Wednesday, March 4th, 2025 Tested on: Multiple Mac machines, multiple iPhones Multiple CarPlay Simulator versions tested What's happening The CarPlay Simulator launches but displays "Connecting to phone" indefinitely. It was working correctly prior to March 4th with no changes on our end. What still works CarPlay functions correctly when the same iPhone is connected to a real car, confirming the issue is specific to the simulator. Troubleshooting steps already attempted Reset permissions and re-added the simulator Forgot the simulator and re-paired it Changed the USB cable Tested on multiple Mac machines Tested on multiple iPhones Tried multiple versions of the CarPlay Simulator Confirmed no VPN is in use Confirmed with IT, no OS updates or enterprise restrictions were applied Questions Has anyone else experienced this since March 4th? Was there a change in CarPlay Simulator behavior or a requirement on the Apple side (certificate, entitlement, protocol) around that date? Is there a known workaround or fix?

Disable automatic Liquid-Glass app icon generation
Hi. On my iOS app, both the app store and the device are making changes to my app icon to make it look more Liquid-Glass. See attached image showing my original icon, and then how it appears on the app store and on devices. There is an added bevel/3d effect. I'd like to not have this happen. Did anybody figure out how to turn this off? So that the icon appears as submitted. I've played around with Icon Composer a bit but haven't managed to turn this off there. And would prefer to just submit the png's. Thank you!

Icon Composer preview and App Store icon look different
Hello, I made my app icon with Icon Composer and added the .icon file directly to my Xcode project. I noticed that the icon preview in Icon Composer looks one way, while the icon shown on the App Store looks different. Details: I am using the .icon file directly in the project I am not using an exported PNG for the app icon I did not add a separate background image The background was set with fill in Icon Composer The preview in Icon Composer looks as expected The App Store version has a different appearance I would like to ask whether this difference may come from: App Store processing caching or a recommended Icon Composer setup for background fill If anyone has seen something similar, I would appreciate any guidance. I can also share screenshots of the Icon Composer preview and the App Store result.

Static library produced by Xcode 26 causes link error on Xcode 16
When a static library is built with Xcode 26 (with deployment target set to iOS 13) and then linked into an app project compiled with Xcode 16, the build process fails with the following linker error: Undefined symbols for architecture arm64: "_swift_coroFrameAlloc" This occurs even though both the static library and the app project have their deployment targets set to iOS 13.0. The static library works on Xcode 26, but fails to link on Xcode 16. This issue shows up with certain Swift syntax. For example, in my case, using a property getter and setter caused the compiler to emit a reference to _swift_coroFrameAlloc, which in turn triggered the issue. This issue prevents us from distributing pre-built static libraries compiled with Xcode 26 to teammates who are still using Xcode 16. I’ve filed feedback for this issue (FB21130604). Is there any way to work around it? For example, by adding specific Build Settings or something similar? A demo project is available here: https://github.com/Naituw/SwiftLibraryDeploymentTargetIssue The demo project includes: StaticLibraryProject: A simple Swift static library with property getter setter usage AppProject: An iOS app that links against the static library verify_compatibility.sh: An automated script to reproduce the issue Method 1: Manual Build and Verification Open StaticLibraryProject/StaticLibraryProject.xcodeproj in Xcode 26 Build the StaticLibraryProject for iOS device (Release configuration) Locate the built libStaticLibraryProject.a in the build products directory Copy libStaticLibraryProject.a to AppProject/AppProject/ directory Open AppProject/AppProject.xcodeproj in Xcode 16 Build the AppProject for iOS device Method 2: Automated Script Edit verify_compatibility.sh to configure the paths to your Xcode installations: Set XCODE_26_PATH to your Xcode 26 installation path (e.g., /Applications/Xcode.app) Set XCODE_16_PATH to your Xcode 16 installation path (e.g., /Applications/Xcode16.app) Run the script: ./verify_compatibility.sh

Apple Watch co-sysdiagnose not generated in Family Setup / managed account scenario
Hi everyone, I’m currently researching Apple Watch pairing behavior and diagnostic logging across different setup modes. I can reliably trigger a co-sysdiagnose on an Apple Watch when it is paired in a normal standalone / standard configuration. In that case, the expected co-sysdiagnose archive appears on the paired iPhone. However, in a Family Setup / managed account scenario, behavior is different: The watch provides the expected haptic feedback after the sysdiagnose button combination But no co-sysdiagnose archive appears on the paired iPhone afterward The same hardware behaves differently depending on pairing/account configuration My question is: Is co-sysdiagnose collection, transport, or availability intentionally different for Family Setup / managed Apple Watch devices? For example: Are logs stored elsewhere? Is transfer to the organizer iPhone restricted? Is co-sysdiagnose unsupported in Family Setup mode? Are additional conditions required, such as Wi-Fi, charging state, unlocked devices, or a longer delay? I may be missing something obvious, but I have not found documentation describing this difference. If this is expected behavior, I’d really appreciate a pointer to the relevant documentation. Thanks a lot!

Apple Watch Missing Developer Mode Option
I have an iPhone 14 running iOS 16.1 and my series 5 watch running watchOS 9.1. I was able to turn on Developer Mode on the phone by going to Settings--> Privacy & Security --> Developer Mode. On the watch however (I'm doing this directly on the watch and not on the watch app on the phone) once I'm in Privacy & Security, there is no option to select Developer Mode. How do I get my watch in Developer Mode in order to get a successful build in xCode?

Include the release date and sw_vers in macos release notes
This is not exactly a feedback about the forums but I couldn't find a better location to ask this question. The macos release notes are hosted at developer.apple.com. For example, the macos 26.4 release note is here https://developer.apple.com/documentation/macos-release-notes/macos-26_4-release-notes. Would it be possible to include the release date in those release notes? Right now, it's hard to locate that information. It would also be useful to even include the sw_vers of that particular release in those release notes. For example: ProductName: macOS ProductVersion: 26.4 BuildVersion: 25E246 Having the sw_vers and the release date in the first few lines of the release note would be handy. The reason I went looking for the release date was because the corresponding sources for macos 26.4 hasn't yet been listed at https://opensource.apple.com/releases/. It usually takes a few days for that to happen, so I wanted to see how long it has been since 26.4 was released.

Family Controls Entitlement NOT applied to App Extensions (and Support Form is broken)
Hello, I am facing a critical issue where the Family Controls (Distribution) entitlement is not being applied to my app extensions, despite the main app ID being approved. Main App ID: com.hayashikento.focuspact (Approved on March 13) Extension ID 1: com.hayashikento.focuspact.ShieldActionExtension (Pending/Not visible) Extension ID 2: com.hayashikento.focuspact.ShieldConfigurationExtension (Pending/Not visible) I have submitted requests multiple times, but the entitlement does not appear in the "Capability Requests" for these extensions in the Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles portal. Furthermore, I am unable to contact Developer Support because the "Contact Us" form on the developer website consistently shows a "Request error" or freezes on the submission page. Since I am completely blocked from TestFlight distribution, could someone from Apple please look into my account (Team ID: UHG4J7F7NH) and manually sync these entitlements? Thank you for your help.

pkgbuild on Tahoe (26.3.1) fails to build packages if any directory name contains non-ascii characters. pkgbuild is able to build successfully with the same source data on previous versions on macOS, so this is a regression and prevents us from build able to build our products on macOS 26. symbolicate crashlog using .symbols files instead of dSYMs
Hi, Some crashes downloaded from TestFlight aren't symbolicated by Xcode and I don't know why, here's an example: Although all uploaded builds contain debug symbols (Symbols directory with .symbols files) and other crashlogs in the same version are symbolicated just fine (also visible on the above SS). I have access only to the .symbols files but not to the original dSYMs and I wonder how to perform symbolication manually. I tried pointing atos and symbolicatecrash utilities to respective .symbols file, but they are unable to work with it. I'm sure it's possible as TestFlight symbolicates crashlogs using only .symbols files somehow. Could you give a hint?

Hi, Problem When playing videos on the Developer app on the Mac, there is no full screen button for the video. So it is not possible to play the video in full screen. Note I am not referring to the app going into full screen, the issue is with there is no option to play the video in full screen. Environment OS: macOS 26.2 (25C56) Developer app: Version 10.8.3 (1083.3.1) Feedback FB21343934 Recording Question Are others also facing this issue? Is there a workaround? Suggestion This seems to be recurring problem that seems get broken with app / OS releases. Please write some UI tests to ensure the full screen button is present. Would really appreciate if this gets fixed.

The size of the asset has increased more than three time in the assets.car file after signing the ios app
The assets in the Asset.xcasset lesser than the asset in the Assets.car file. Because of this the iPA file size increased three times as Assets.car file inside the iPA increased. Why do the asset file size increased enormously. How do we prevent this ? I used Version 26.2 (17C52).

I tried pointing atos and symbolicatecrash utilities to respective .symbols file, but they are unable to work with it. I'm sure it's possible as TestFlight symbolicates crashlogs using only .symbols files somehow. Could you give a hint?

Feedback Assistant Unresponsive
Hello, I was told from Developer engineers to post an Xcode issue on Feedback Assistant. It has been 6 weeks and I have yet to receive a single reply or acknowledgement on my feedback post. I would just like to at least get some sort of acknowledgement from Feedback Assistant that my post is being tracked or if a resolution is in work please. Here's the post: https://feedbackassistant.apple.com/feedback/21824703

Developer app on the Mac doesn't play videos in full screen
