I answer to myself I trashed (again) the preference file and also files like the following which were in ./Containers TextEdit_77403FF1-DF6E-5F33-AEB0-D679D42F420D.plist 18-28-18-493.plist The Open menu of TextEdit.app seems to be working again but I am unsure this is enough since the problem already disappeared for a while and reappeared.
