I'm able to reproduce this with iPhone 12 mini simulator and not the other simulated iPhones. For now I'm using iPhone 12 to do my testing, but it is important for me to test with smaller screen devices (like the 12 mini). FWIW, any iOS version on iPhone 12 mini is causing this, thus it seems to be related with the simulated device itself. I removed the device and added again with a cleaned version, restarted my laptop etc, nothing seemed to work. The solution posted above by enzox solved it for me, but it sucks that doesn't survive a sim restart.
