This privacy access control for the Downloads/Desktop/Documents folders seem totally broken. On macOS Sequoia I got the permission alert once for my app when I created a new macOS user account, but neither removing the app from Settings/Privacy/Files and Folders nor using tccutil I am able to reset the permission and trigger the alert again. The app can still access/write to the Downloads directory. On macOS 12.7 removing the app from the Provacy Files and Folders settings or disabling the checkbox prevents access to the folder. But on both macOS versions granting access to the Downloads folder also lets me access the Desktop and Documents folder. Very hard to test my code waiting for the permission to be given like this…

Same here. Hope this isn’t one of these features which get announced and then released in a .5 macOS/iOS version (like Messages in iCloud…).
