That might be a different issue. How many security scoped bookmarks are currently active in your app? There is a limit of ~2500 active ones. Maybe you are forgetting to call stopAccessingSecurityScopedResource on the unused ones.

Does it show if you call VTRegisterSupplementalVideoDecoderIfAvailable() first?

You should really update then, the first major release is usually buggy.
