For me the compiling the 2 .xcasset files (asset catalogue) is taking more than 21 minutes. 1 xcasset file is 140 MB and 2 xcasset is 11 MB. Using 2020 MacBookPro with i5 2Ghz processor, 16 GB Ram. I don't know literally what Xcode is doing to compile xcasset, it doubled my build time. I need to build 20 apps and see the impact now.
