Reply to Home App Intermittent Hub Not Responding Bug
Thank you for the detailed response and testing protocol. To answer your clarifying questions: Cold launch behavior: Yes, exactly as you described. Force quit and relaunch shows all hubs as not responding for 5–10 seconds, then returns to normal. Does not occur when closing and reopening during normal use — only on cold launch. Cold launching on one device does not affect other devices; the behavior is isolated to whichever device I am on. Account relationship: I am the Home owner. Accessory count and types: 115 accessories across 25 rooms, 41 automations. Specifically: 57 lights/switches (Philips Hue, Lutron) 21 motorized window coverings (Lutron) 11 bridges — 3x Philips Hue, 1x Lutron Caseta, 5x Homebridge instances (B&O audio, Securecom security panel - my code, BeoLink Gateway - my code, BeoPlay, Sensibo AC) 6 IP cameras, 6 motion sensors 3 TVs, 3 audio receivers Video doorbell, security system, thermostat, leak sensor, temperature sensor, 2x HVAC All accessories are either MFi-certified or bridged through Homebridge. No direct non-MFi accessories. Hubs: Five HomePods (original and mini 1st generation) and Apple TVs, all on current software. I use a single designated HomePod as the preferred home hub. I will proceed with the testing protocol as described.

Following up on this thread as I'm experiencing the same issue. Setup: Five HomePods (original and mini 1st generation), all running HomePod Software 26.5 (23L471) All devices iOS 26, macOS 26 Single flat network, no VLANs No third-party integrations or apps connected to Apple ID or Home Behavior: Every cold launch of the Home app shows all hubs as not responding for 5–10 seconds, then self-corrects Occurs on all my devices simultaneously (iPhone, iPad, Mac) No other household members see this — their devices (iPads, permanently on the same network) show no issue Devices remain fully reachable on the local network throughout each event Confirmed not network-related: conducted full network diagnostic including switch multicast configuration and IGMP snooping What I've tried: Toggling Home off/on in iCloud settings — temporary relief only, recurs Network-level diagnostics — confirmed not network-related Confirming the iOS 26 regression pattern — issue did not exist prior to iOS 26. Happy to provide sysdiagnose files. Please advise on next steps.
