I would take a step back and look at this from the perspective of Adopting Liquid Glass. One important statement there is this:
Reduce your use of custom backgrounds in controls and navigation elements. Any custom backgrounds and appearances you use in these elements might overlay or interfere with Liquid Glass or other effects that the system provides, such as the scroll edge effect. Make sure to check any custom backgrounds in elements like split views, tab bars, and toolbars. Prefer to remove custom effects and let the system determine the background appearance, especially for the following elements: [...] UINavigationBar

That's all well and good, but even if you apply no styling at all to the bar and allow the system to do it, the system applies the .bar style (frosted) to the navigation bar and leaves the empty space above it, with a bit of a blur effect on it that does not match the look of the bar. When content in the view scrolls, you see it go behind the frosted bar and then it becomes visible through the blur effect. So it still looks completely wrong. Note that this behavior only affects the Duo in its folded pose. In the open, landscape pose where there is also a bar at the top, that bar extends to the top of the screen and visually makes sense.
