I hope you can come up with a solution similar to macOS where the user can select an app to open the file (if there are multiple apps that can open that specific file type). If there’s only one installed app that can handle the type, it should be opened directly. The current behavior where only Apple first party apps support opening their types directly is a clear UX regression, not fair to third party developers and raises antitrust concerns.
