Reply to macOS Tahoe 26.4 Beta 4: Rosetta deprecation warning not shown — bug or intended behavior?
Thank you for the suggestion. I monitored the system log from the ecosystemd process as you recommended. Here are the relevant log entries I found when launching VLC: ecosystemd: [GAME_CHECK] type=process bundle=org.videolan.vlc result=notGame uid=505 ecosystemd: shouldNotify check: true for ecosystemd: Scheduling notification check for uid: 505 in 2 seconds ecosystemd: detectArchitectures: macho_for_each_slice failed with code 1 for: ecosystemd: Process excluded, skip adding Could you tell me whether these log entries indicate the reason the warning dialog was not displayed, and whether this is a known bug in macOS Tahoe 26.4 beta?

Reply to macOS Tahoe 26.4 Beta 4: Rosetta deprecation warning not shown — bug or intended behavior?
Thank you for your responses. I understand your point, but my situation is a bit different. I am using a third-party app that relies on Rosetta 2. The company that developed it has discontinued development and has no intention of rebuilding it for Apple Silicon. After reading the macOS Tahoe 26.4 beta release notes, I expected a deprecation warning to appear, which would have confirmed that the app would no longer be usable in the future. However, no warning appeared in any of the macOS Tahoe 26.4 beta releases, which made me wonder whether this is a bug or intended behavior.

I have some additional questions: How can I check which apps that use Rosetta 2 will continue to work on macOS 28 and later? If the Rosetta deprecation warning does not appear when launching an app, can that be considered as confirmation that the app will continue to work on macOS 28 and later? In other words, can the absence of the warning be used as a reliable check for future compatibility?

Reply to sshd-keygen-wrapper permissions problem
Regarding the Privacy & Security settings, "Background Security Improvements" was added to the settings screen in macOS Tahoe 26.1. This option did not exist in Tahoe 26.0.1. The macOS Tahoe 26.1 Release Notes say nothing about this, but it is described at https://support.apple.com/en-us/102657. It seems that this change has affected the settings for Screen Recording and Full Disk Access. The Screen Recording and Full Disk Access sections in Privacy & Security settings now show only applications and do not show Unix executables. I assume this is simply a bug, but if it is an intentional change, I would appreciate any clarification. If so, what should be done for affected systems? Wrapping Unix executables in an application bundle to make them appear in System Settings is one possible workaround, but not ideal. For systems where multiple Unix executables work together and run in the background, wrapping some of them in an application bundle would affect the entire system. This is especially problematic for systems that install or uninstall with one click and update automatically from a server. Personally, I hope the option to display Unix executables will be restored, even if this was an intentional change. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

"During the minor version upgrade from Tahoe 26.01 to Tahoe 26.1, Unix executables seem to have disappeared from the Privacy & Security settings screen. I suspect this change was made under the assumption that since Unix executables run from Terminal are controlled by Terminal's permissions, separate display was unnecessary. But could it be that this overlooks Unix executables that can be executed through means other than Terminal?"

The full disk access feature is working. Take a look at TCC.DB. TCC.DB is located in "/Library/Application Support/com.apple.TCC/TCC.db". This issue is a bug where CLI applications are not displayed in "Security and Privacy."
