Here is what I did to get rid of the simulators: 1. Boot to recovery, 2. Launch Disk Utility, 3. Mount "Data" volume (this is where the data resides), 4. Quit Disk Utility, 5. Open Terminal, 6. cd to iOSSimulatorRuntime folder, 7. rm all simulator directories, 8. Reboot
