Encountered the same issue. Already tried to do resetting the PRAM/NVRAM and SMC, it will work for a few seconds but after the trackpad and keyboard are not functioning. Also tried to reinstall the OS but it didn't help me. Now, I'm just using a wireless keyboard and mouse to use my Laptop. So hassle!!!! MacBook Air (M1, 2020) + macOS Monterey 12.3.1 version
