Issues with CarPlay in iOS 18 Beta

I am experiencing similar issues with Google Maps and IOS 18 beta 4. None of the links on the CarPlay app work. You can search for a location on the phone, but not from CarPlay. In addition, the map seems to swing in all directions as you are driving.

OK I thought I was loosing my mind. I am having the same issues. When I use google maps or even waze. I cant tap on any of the links when opened in carplay.

ive been having same issues with waze and google maps too.. as previously mention always happens at the worst of times... no problems with ios maps but there shite

I am having the exact same issues. I cannot change anything on the screen of my vehicle through Google maps on CarPlay and it totally shuts down the google maps app or it will just freeze. I also cannot access screen time anymore and a few other features though the setting on my iPhone. I have wiped and reinstalled the software twice now and it’s all still the same! My vehicle is a 2021 jeep wrangler 392 just for the deets and my iPhone is a 14 pro max.

Same here. iOS 18 Beta with iPhone 15 pro. Google map and Waze have same issue, all items in screen of car are note clickable.

Same here. Tomtom goes blank and then once working it’s impossible to select any of the options. Same goes for My Radar

Same here. Leaving for a trip on the 5th of August with a disabled Google Maps. :-/ Both the current store version as well as the testflight version are not working. Buttons all non-responsive.

having exactly same issue with google maps, none of the in app links work, only editable on phone, and frequently crush or go blank during the driving. meanwhile apple maps seems fine, but make the phone producing extreame amount of the heat even in ideal condition (20c in car), causing the phone alert to switch off the screen to cool down

I’ve been experiencing similiar issues. It was working great before updating to IOS 18, and now if it even comes up I can’t use the touch screen to access anything I have to use my phone. And that’s if it even works to begin with and I don’t get the black screen.

Same issues here. I have an Hyundai Ioniq 6 but now this all does not see related to what car you have. Google Maps and Waze both worked great until I put on IOS Beta 4 now they don’t. Funny how Apple Maps works ok though. Not sure why Google has not released an update to address.

I thought it was just me… thank goodness I’m not crazy lol

I’ve had the same issue. Sometimes, the Waze app goes to a blank white screen, and none of the buttons work.

Horrible ex using CarPlay on the new 18 - 18.1 beta.

keeps crashing my google maps and waze and forced to only use Apple Maps and A maps keep taking me on longer routes!!!!

I have big issues with Waze on CarPlay with iOS 18 beta 4. I just can't tap on the icons on the screen, that's really annoying.

I'm going to beta 5, let's see if things go better.

Ios18 B3 - Since I updated, over the weekend, I cannot connect to Carplay or bluetooth. Aside from the constant crashing on the iphone while browsing or on FB.

Same, no function of any Google maps tabs.

Same thing on iPhone 13P. All 3rd party apps using location services seem to be broken. Also with google maps, sometimes the cursor and the map view freeze and the location somehow gets updated out of view (the blue line receeds forward and is replaced by gray).

Apple maps works perfectly fine though.

Just installed the Beta 18 5 and the CarPlay issues seem to be resolved. No longer having the Nav apps going blank and all the links are working.

I have the same issue here, I try to use Waze instead , it also has issues but at Least working .. google map screen tools not working at all

Same here with iOS 18 no Beta release. Google maps crashes, also Waze. Sometimes also its like the compass go crazy because Maps and Waze are pointing backwards or to a random side.

Same here the Google map screen goes blue with only the vehicle direction sign visible. After few seconds the map appears…. This happens several times in a time frame of 10 minutes. please help….
