How Do People Usually Navigate with Full Keyboard Access?

Hi, I'm new to Full Keyboard Access, and I was wondering how people typically navigate UI components with an external keyboard.

Do people usually use Tab/Ctrl+Tab, or are the arrow keys more commonly used?

hi, speaking for myself: tab/back-tab

@B347 Thanks for your reply! I tried using Tab/Ctrl+Tab. However, I've found that it doesn't always behave as expected. For example, keyboard navigation sometimes gets stuck on an element, so I can't move to the next one. Other times, it jumps to an item that doesn't seem like the expected next element based on the visual layout.

I tried to improve the navigation behaviour. However, it seems there's nothing like accessibilityPriority we can use in VoiceOver to control the navigation order.

Do you have any tips for making keyboard navigation more predictable or easier to manage?

I, too, have had similar inconsistent experiences. I get by using tools that take a different approach. For example, homerow.app, which I actually use all the time. There are probably other alternatives as well.

Thank you! That's really valuable and helpful.
