I am developing a personal iOS app using the FamilyControls and ManagedSettings frameworks.
I currently use a free Personal Team in Xcode and receive the following error when adding the Family Controls (Development) capability:
"Personal development teams do not support the Family Controls (Development) capability."
Before enrolling in the Apple Developer Program, I would like to confirm the following:
Is an active paid Apple Developer Program membership sufficient to use the Family Controls (Development) entitlement for testing on my own iPhone? Is any additional approval from Apple required to use the development entitlement? Is a separate Family Controls entitlement request required only for distribution through TestFlight and the App Store? Can an individual developer use this capability for a personal productivity app that temporarily shields selected apps and removes the shield after a timer expires?
I would appreciate confirmation of the requirements before I pay for membership.
