Hi everyone — I’m implementing the new Hearing Device Support API described here:
https://developer.apple.com/documentation/accessibility/hearing-device-support
I have MFi hearing aids paired and visible under Settings → Accessibility → Hearing Devices, and I’ve added the com.apple.developer.hearing.aid.app entitlement (and also tested with Wireless Accessory Configuration: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/bundleresources/entitlements/com.apple.external-accessory.wireless-configuration
).
com.apple.developer.hearing.aid.app
xxxxx
but the app won't even compile with this entitlement
Problem
NotificationCenter.default.addObserver(...) for
pairedUUIDsDidChangeNotification
never fires — not on app launch, not after pairing/unpairing, and not after reconnecting the hearing aids.
Because the notification never triggers, calls like:
HearingDeviceSession.shared.pairedDevices
always return an empty list.
What I expected
According to the docs, the notification should be posted whenever paired device UUIDs change, and the session should expose those devices — but nothing happens.
Questions
Does the hearing.aid.app entitlement require special approval from Apple beyond adding it to the entitlements file?
Is there a way to verify that iOS is actually honoring this entitlement?
Has anyone successfully received this notification on a real device?
Any help or confirmation would be greatly appreciated.

iOS 18.3.1, iPhone 16 Pro.
I pick photos using connected physical keyboard from the user's photo library using:
.photosPicker(isPresented: $viewModel.isImagePickerPresented, selection: $viewModel.selectedImageItem, matching: .images)
When picker appears, accessibility focus is moved to "dynamic Island" instead of cancel button. There is no possibility to navigate by keyboard in photos picker view without tapping on this view and move focus to this view manually . I noticed the same behavior in Notes app.
Hello community,
We're designing an app that can optionally be controlled by a stylus with a mesh tip. In this case, the mesh tip we're using is 5 mm in diameter. It seems that mesh tip contact detection is unstable in this size, although it works better with a larger diameter.
Is it possible to access a setting in iOS that lets you define the minimum contact area needed to detect a contact on the screen? This would enable us to use this 5 mm stylus.
Best regards,
Edwin

Hello! I'm adding VoiceOver support for my app, but I'm having an issue where my accessibility value is not being spoken. I have made a helper class that creates an NSString from a double and converts it to the user's region currency.
CurrencyFormatter.m
+ (NSString *) localizedCurrencyStringFromDouble: (double) value {
NSNumberFormatter *formatter = [[NSNumberFormatter alloc] init];
formatter.numberStyle = NSNumberFormatterCurrencyStyle;
formatter.locale = [NSLocale currentLocale];
NSString *currencyString = [formatter stringFromNumber: @(value)];
[formatter release];
return currencyString;
}
View Contoller
self.checkTotalLabel.accessibilityLabel = NSLocalizedString(@"Total Amount", @"Accessibility Label for Total");
self.checkTotalLabel.accessibilityValue = [CurrencyFormatter localizedCurrencyStringFromDouble: total];
I'm confused on whether the value should go into the accessibility label or not. When the currency is just USD and the language is English, it's a simple fix. But when the currency needs to be converted, I'm not sure where to go from here.
If anyone has any guidance, it would help me a lot!
Thank you!
Hi everyone,
I completed my Apple Developer registration on November 8, 2025, and paid the fee. Afterwards, I was charged another €99, so I basically paid twice. But nothing has changed on my account so far — it doesn’t even show as “pending” or “waiting” anymore. I also can’t reach Apple Support, since I’m unable to get a call or send an email.
Has anyone else experienced something like this or knows what I can do?

before I start this could just be me and handful of people but I like to reorganize my phone screen to my needs based on what’s going on in life. I was jaut thinking it would be easier if u could get rid of all the folders at once then reorganize or something easier than this long extensive process it is now.
Yesterday I installed iOS 26 on my iPhone as a beta tester. At first there was no problem, but during the afternoon I noticed that neither FaceTime nor IMessage worked... I tried to go through the settings as described by Apple Support, but my phone number would not activate. Sometimes I was even asked to activate iCloud. I always get a REG-RESP message.
Does anyone have any ideas what the problem could be?

Context:
We are using UIKit to provide accessibility in our app for our iOS users. Our app majorly contains documents/books that user can read.
Issue: The issue is VoiceOver is skipping the lines given to it when there are some leading spaces in it. We have observed this issue in different languages. This is only happening for line granularity, other granularities seems to be working as expected.
Implementation:
We are using below API's to provide line content to voice over.
UIAccessibilityReadingContent
- accessibilityPageContent
- accessibilityFrameForLineNumber
- accessibilityContentForLineNumber
We are creating UIAccessibilityElement objects to pass to VoiceOver and each UIAccessibilityElement implements UIAccessibilityReadingContent to provide readable content.
We also use below APIs to cross element boundaries for all granular navigations.
accessibilityNextTextNavigationElement
accessibilityPreviousTextNavigationElement
We want to know whether skipping the line when provided with leading spaces is expected or a bug in UIKit.
In iOS18, when a button using @FocusSate is inside a ScrollView and if this view is getting opened via NavigationLink,
The button is not accessible via Bluetooth (external) keyboard)
Is this a known isssue in iOS18

Hi,
Our app has a section where, we show to users how to activate "Silence Unknown Callers", because is a crucial feature for our app. But, we saw that 30% of users drop the process here, because we can't open directly that setting option in phone app.
We are using this url scheme to open phone settings in iOS 18:
if let url = URL(string: "App-prefs:com.apple.mobilephone") {
UIApplication.shared.open(url)
}
But, we don't see other way to open directly the path "silence", like in iOS 17, with this url scheme: prefs:root=Phone&path=SILENCE_CALLS
So, do you know if is possible open that option directly? We want to improve our accessibility.
Thank you!
I am facing issue of back camera in my iphone 14 plus it is showing the black screen and my iphone is manufacture between april 2023 to april 2024 but its still not eligible for apple program my phone is also getting same issue why its not eligible for it

The AVSpeechSynthesizer on some iOS 18 device has a bug that it will read always read Chinese of:
AVSpeechUtterance(string: "中文") // Any Chinese Content
in the dialect specified by:
Settings > Accessibility > Spoken Content > Voices > Chinese > Spoken Language
instead of the dialect that I specified in AVSpeechUtterance.voice:
AVSpeechSynthesisVoice(language: "zh-HK") // Cantonese
AVSpeechSynthesisVoice(language: "zh-TW") // Mandarin
However, setting Chinese dialect of AVSpeechSynthesisVoice by "zh-HK" or "zh-TW" has been working on iOS 17 and below.
My app has a feature that requires reading sentences in Mandarin followed by Cantonese, i.e., both dialects is needed every time. Therefore, setting the dialect in Spoken Language of Settings is not a workaround to make my app to function correctly in iOS 18.
Further to the above, I've also discovered that, if iOS 18 (in my case, 18.5 is tested) is freshly installed (not upgrading from iOS 17 or below, nor restoring backup after fresh installation of iOS 18), the bug above will not happen.
However, if it was an upgrade from iOS 17 or below, or backup is restored (in my case, I freshly installed iOS 18.5 on a new iPhone and then restored a backup from another iPhone on iOS 16.2), the bug above happens.
This bug puzzled me because I need both dialect of Chinese to be read aloud one by one, but as reported by many users, on most iOS 18 devices (since a fresh installation of latest iOS without upgrading or restoring is uncommon nowadays), my app will read Cantonese two times or Mandarin two times (depending on Spoken Language in Settings). It is the iOS 18 bug which made my app unable to perform the expected behavior.
Would Apple developers look into this and advise if there are any possible workaround within the code of app to overcome this bug, or please fix this bug with an iOS 18 update. Thank you.

Currently i am using an iphone 15 pro which is just 7 months old but it was good till this month it was at 97% even after using more than 6 months, but in recent fews days it is regularly dropping by 1% every day and now it is at 89% only with 10 to 12 days it dropped by 8% . Is my battery defective or something is wrong with my phone .
bcoz of this i am very upset because of this bad decrease of battery health . i have heard it is normal to degrade by 1% monthly but mine is dropping daily its soo frustrating.
and if my battery reaches under 80% within the warrenty period?
will get a free battery replacement from apple or not ? I don’t have apple care+ .
But its under 1 year standard warrenty .
please reply apple as its soo frustrating
VoiceOver reads out all visible content on the screen, which is essential for visually challenged users. However, this raises a privacy concern—what if a user accidentally focuses on sensitive information, like a bank account password, and it gets read aloud?
How can developers prevent VoiceOver from exposing confidential data while still maintaining accessibility? Are there best practices or recommended approaches to handle such scenarios effectively?
I'm developing a macOS app using NSView and trying to make my content navigable via VoiceOver. I'm expecting the built-in rotor category "Content Chooser" (accessed via VO + U) to list my accessible elements — just like how it shows message items in the Mail app. However, in my app, this rotor appears empty, even though:
My views return proper accessibilityChildren() or accessibilityContents() with valid NSAccessibilityElements
Each child has correct AXRole, AXLabel, etc.
The window is key and visible
VoiceOver navigation works for the elements
I've also tried:
Using both accessibilityChildren() and accessibilityContents() in container views
Setting roles like .group, .staticText, .button, etc.
Avoiding hidden elements
Ensuring all elements are visible and labeled
Still, "Content Chooser" rotor is empty.
What exact conditions must be met for an element to appear in the "Content Chooser" rotor in a macOS app?
Any Apple-specific guidance, hidden requirements, or sample code would be appreciated.
CallKit and WebRTC are used to realize the call functionality.
You can select video, voice, or text calling as your calling method.
When making a text call, the voice input is grayed out and cannot be used, is there a solution?
I get it, "Why don't you just get an apple watch?" regardless, My Macbok Pro M4 doesn't recognize my charging cable in any of my USBC ports.
The Cable works with any other power supply I plug it into, but the Macbook doesn't even register that a cable is connected.
-- Running Sequioa Beta 15.4 thinking it may have been software related. No change.
-- Settings> Privacy and Security> accessories> Changed between all available options. No change.
-- Option + Apple Logo> system info> Thunderbolt/USB4> none of the ports show that the cable is connected.
-- Any other USB-C Cable is recognized in any of the ports on the Macbook. Just not the cable for the Galaxy Watch.
Again, the cable charges in ANY other USBc ports from ANY other device I connect it to.
Am I missing something? Or is this an intended jab at Samsung from Apple? lol

Hey everyone
I'm working on a health app that's heavily focused on HRV tracking and analysis, and I'm trying to figure out what's actually possible with AirPods Pro 3 from a developer standpoint. The hardware clearly has a much better heart rate sensor than the previous generation, but I'm hitting some walls when it comes to actually accessing the data I need.
So here's the situation I'm dealing with: When I query HealthKit for HRV samples, I'm not seeing anything coming from AirPods Pro 3. The device is obviously capable of tracking heart rate continuously during workouts and listening sessions, and from what I've read about the hardware, it should theoretically be able to capture the inter-beat intervals needed for HRV calculation. But either that data isn't being processed on-device, or it's just not being made available through the standard HealthKit data types that third-party apps can access.
What I'm really after is either direct HRV metrics (like SDNN, which Apple Watch already provides through HKQuantityTypeIdentifierHeartRateVariabilitySDNN) or even better, access to the raw R-R interval data. With R-R intervals, I could calculate RMSSD, pNN50, and other time-domain and frequency-domain HRV metrics that are super valuable for tracking recovery, autonomic nervous system balance, and stress levels. This would be especially useful since a lot of users wear AirPods during activities when they're not wearing their Apple Watch.
Has anyone managed to find a way to pull this data from AirPods Pro 3? Are there any private frameworks or entitlements I should be looking into? Or is this just fundamentally not exposed to developers at the OS level right now?
I've gone through the HealthKit documentation pretty thoroughly and haven't found anything that specifically addresses this, but I'm wondering if I'm missing something or if there are any known workarounds.
I'm also curious if anyone has heard anything from Apple about future plans to expose this data. It seems like a missed opportunity given how capable the hardware is and how much value developers could provide with access to this physiological data. Would love to hear if anyone else is working on similar features or has insights into the technical limitations here.
