Troubleshooting Video Loading Issues on iOS: Slow Performance Over Mobile Data but Fast on Wi-Fi
Hello, We are developing a social media application that allows users to share and view content in the form of images and videos. The app is built with Angular and Ionic, and we use Capacitor to integrate native functionalities. Currently, we are experiencing an issue with content loading on iOS devices. Specifically, when the iPhone is connected to Wi-Fi, videos load quickly and play smoothly. However, when using mobile data, videos take a long time to load or, in some cases, do not load at all. We are trying to identify the cause of the issue and determine whether it could be related to Xcode configuration or any system restrictions. Some potential reasons we have considered include: iOS Mobile Data Usage Restrictions iOS may limit mobile data usage for large downloads or streaming content if the app does not have the proper permissions. In Settings > Mobile Data, users can restrict data usage for specific apps. App Transport Security (ATS) Configuration Xcode and iOS enforce strict security policies for network connections through App Transport Security (ATS). If the API serving the videos uses HTTP instead of HTTPS or has restrictive headers, this could affect loading over mobile networks. Xcode Network Usage Settings Xcode allows configurations related to network access. There might be a setting limiting access to mobile networks when the device is not on Wi-Fi. Video Quality and Adaptability Differences If videos are not optimized for mobile networks (e.g., high-quality formats without adaptive versions), loading times could be significantly longer. Implementing HLS (HTTP Live Streaming) could improve playback on slower networks. Request Timeout Issues If video loading requests have a short timeout, slower mobile network connections might exceed this limit, causing the request to fail. Compression and Caching It is essential to check if videos are properly compressed and if caching is implemented to improve performance on mobile networks. Given this situation, we would like to know what Xcode settings might be affecting video loading performance on mobile data and how we can adjust them to enhance the user experience.

I noticed that the Uber Driver app is able to get location in background without the permissions (How?)
The Uber Driver app is able to get background location and there’s no way to turn it off from settings. Unlike other apps where there’s always an option to turn off background location from settings. Is this a bug or special treatment for big companies? this matters to me because we’re in a similar business but our app has to request background permissions, explicitly. I am attaching both of the screenshots here for you to compare and see. Please note that I verified personally that Uber Driver app is able to get background location.

Watch series 6 beta 11.4 issue
I updated my Apple Watch Series 6 before Apple withdrew beta 11.4 as an option. I see on forums that I am not alone with this issue. Many series 6 watches are now stuck in a boot loop. I hope Apple can resolve the issue for those of us that pushed the update to our watches before the issue was identified. Support were unable to assist.

IOS 18.5 Beta
Ever since last weeks 18.5 beta update, the Deltek Vision T&E app no longer opens. I did the next update last night, still not working. I've deleted the app, restarted phone, re-installed, still the same behavior. When you open the app, it just spins and nothing ever happens, don't get to login screen or anything.

FocusState Issue with TextFields in ScrollView on iPad (iOS 18.0)
When using a VStack containing two TextFields inside a ScrollView on an iPad running iOS 18.0, the FocusState of the topmost TextField does not trigger, while the second TextField's FocusState works correctly. Adding an invisible TextField on top resolves the issue, but it appears to be a bug specifically in iOS 18.0 on iPads. This issue does not occur on iOS versions below or above 18.0 (including iOS 18.1). Code that is not working struct ContentView: View { @State var text: String = "" @FocusState private var focusState: Bool var body: some View { ScrollView(.vertical, content: { VStack(spacing: 0) { TextField(text: $text) { Text("Hello, World!") } .border(focusState ? Color.red : Color.gray) .focused($focusState) .onChange(of: focusState) { oldValue, newValue in print(newValue) } .onChange(of: text) { oldValue, newValue in focusState = true } } }) .padding() } } Code that is working struct ContentView: View { @State var text: String = "" @FocusState private var focusState: Bool var body: some View { ScrollView(.vertical, content: { VStack(spacing: 0) { // Invisible Text Field TextField("", text: .constant("")) .frame(height: 0) TextField(text: $text) { Text("Hello, World!") } .border(focusState ? Color.red : Color.gray) .focused($focusState) .onChange(of: focusState) { oldValue, newValue in print(newValue) } .onChange(of: text) { oldValue, newValue in focusState = true } } }) .padding() } }

Subscribed Calendar Issue
I'm running into issues with iOS respecting the HTTP 410 "Gone" response type. Setup: Using the native iOS Calendar app, add a new subscription calendar. "Add Subscription Calendar" Add the URL of a ICS calendar subscription that you control, e.g. https://mywebsite.com/userfeeds/23/cal.ics Make sure to select the "Account" option and choose "On My iPhone/iPad". Set the query amount to 15 mins. Calendar events show as expected, device queries the latest updates from the server every 15 minutes. Server returns HTTP 200 with the .ics contents. Now, assume there is a need for the feed to end - maybe the user unsubscribed to mywebsite.com. There is currently no way for the mywebsite.com server / response to tell the device the feed has ended and it should stop requesting. If the user forgets to go to calendar and manually unsubscribe the device will continually ping the server every 15 minutes indefinitely. It's turning into a virtual DoS for my platform. iOS should respect the HTTP 410 "Gone" header or something similar. If the server returns a HTTP 410 response code for https://mywebsite.com/userfeeds/23/cal.ics X amount of times, the feed should be automatically removed. I've opened several tickets over the last 3 years and have not even had a status change on the tickets. Does anyone know how to resolve this or a work around?

Very strange behavoir of Safari.app, Notes.app on MacBook Pro
Is there a way to check whether third-party code can be inserted into parts of the ARM CPU architecture from outside? I have the paranoid impression that my MacBook Pro, M2 processor is being manipulated from outside. For example: Safari, when opened, displays pages scaled down without my conscious intervention, when clicked on the original size it scales back to normal for a short time and then implodes again; I use the navigation bar on the left excessively, it is my most important tool in Safari, today it was impossible to insert a link using drag & drop, the bar scrolls up or down very quickly; a behavior that I only know from Intel processors. For example, notes, I encrypted an important note, no problem even though photos and links are inserted, yesterday I could no longer open the note, neither on the MacBook Pro nor on the iPhone. When opening the notes app in the terminal on the MacBook Pro, an EXEC_CRASH report was generated. I have a terrible suspicion that the Apple branch in Munich is tampering with the devices and software of users in Germany. Sorry, I'm a big fan of Apple and its products, but this is very spooky. I just wanted to share my distrust with you!

Help accessing audio input from Mac
Hello there, I am a casual game modder for a game called Vintage Story and I had a question about accessing audio input from a Mac. Some other modders in my community developed a proximity chat system that allows players to hear one another via microphone while in physical proximity within the game. It apparently works very well on Windows but unfortunately they don’t seem to know how to get the mod to receive audio input from a Mac. I spoke with them and they are looking for some Mac devs who might be able to help them. Would anyone here be able to shed light on this or know any Mac devs who could?

iOS 18.1-18.3 Bluetooth is not working (infinity restarting)
The Bluetooth on my iPhone 14 hasn’t been working for a week now. Everything was fine until, at some point, it started endlessly turning on and off by itself. I’ve tried resetting the settings, doing a hard reset, updating to iOS 18.3—none of these helped. I even deleted all VPN profiles just in case (I saw this suggested on forums), but that didn’t work either. According to forums, this bug has existed since September and affects thousands of people. The constant cycling causes the Bluetooth settings to freeze. Please help! My watch, headphones, car—everything has turned into a pumpkin!

Mac App Store Unable to Install or Purchase Any New Applications
Since macOS 15.4 Beta 2, my App Store has been unable to install or download any new applications; it can only download applications I have previously purchased. It appears as follows: when I click 'Get,' the system spins to load and then returns to the initial state. Upon checking system error reports, it seems there's an issue with AMSUIPaymentViewService_macOS [2113]. This problem persists despite changing credit cards or even removing all credit cards. macOS 15.4 Beta 3 has not fixed this error.

How do I achieve this function?
So, I'm new to Swift, but I'm trying to get my app idea off the ground and am trying to find a way to create the main module of the app - two users see in real time, where the other one touches their screen. So, each of them see a red dot light up on their screen wherever the other one touched it. Ideally dot should change in diameter based on the pressure of the touch.
