Environment
• Device: any iPhone running iOS 26 Developer Beta 5 (23A5308g)
• Xcode: 16.3
Short description
The app crashes the moment the user tries to long-press to select text inside a WKWebView, double-tap an image with Text (magnifier appears)
The exception is CALayer position contains NaN. frame = (nan,0;0,48) chorPoint=(inf, 0) and it is thrown in the UI process.
Build & run any project that hosts a WKWebView. Inject the following CSS via script (this is what we do to suppress the native callout menu):
WKWebView *webView = [[WKWebView alloc] initWithFrame:self.view.bounds
configuration:[WKWebViewConfiguration new]];
NSString *js =
@"document.documentElement.style.webkitUserSelect='none';"
"document.documentElement.style.webkitTouchCallout='none';";
[webView evaluateJavaScript:js completionHandler:nil];
[self.view addSubview:webView];

Hello Apple App Review Team,
We are using Privy to enable sign in with Farcaster in our app. Privy is a 3rd party authentication SDK, and it currently opens the authentication URL using the system browser.
Unfortunately, this behavior is handled internally by Privy and we do not have access or control to override it in order to present the sign-in flow in-app using SFSafariViewController.
We understand the importance of maintaining a seamless and secure user experience, and we fully support the use of SFSafariViewController or ASWebAuthenticationSession. However, since Privy does not expose an option to change this behavior at the moment, we are limited by their current implementation.
We have reached out to the Privy team requesting a change or improvement that would allow us to use SFSafariViewController instead of the external browser. In the meantime, we would appreciate your guidance on how to proceed, or whether an exception could be granted due to this 3rd party SDK limitation.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
I've been using Sign In with Apple for Web for the last six months, and it works well enough.
Now, I'm updating the domain of the main application (we got the .com! yeah!)
However, I can't find a way in the configuration UI to update the allowed redirect URLs for the application.
I go to Identifiers -> My App -> Capabilities -> Sign In with Apple -> Edit button.
It just allows me to edit whether this is a primary ID, or grouped ID, plus a callback URL (which I'm not currently using.)
We are experiencing a problem that seems to be caused by a specification changes for Safari.
We would like to discuss how to solve this problem.
Sample JavaScript:
<html>
<head>
<script>
function jumpPage(code) {
document.main.code.value = code;
win1=window.open("","win1","toolbar=no,resizable=yes,menubar=no,scrollbars=yes,status=yes,left=0,top=0");
win1.resizeTo(width=screen.availWidth,height=screen.availHeight);
document.main.action="details";
document.main.target="win1";
document.main.submit();
}
</script>
</head>
<body>
<form name="main" method="post" action="" target="">
<a href="javascript:jumpPage('001')">details</a>
<input type="hidden" name="code" value="">
</body>
</html>
This JavaScript performs the following actions when a link is clicked.
Open a window using window.open in JavaScript
Submit the above opened window by post method to the target in JavaScript.
When this operation is performed, the process in (2) could submit to the
target page with “POST” method before iOS18.1, but
will transition to the page with“GET”method from iOS18.2 onward.
All protocols are http.
This problem does not occur if the URL is specified as an IP address, but it does occur if the host name is specified as.
Please let me know how to use with“POST”method as in iOS 18.2 or earlier.
Best regards,

I have multiple web views of the same domain that share the same local storage, as expected.
One of them though, is loading a .webarchive file.
The web archive is of the same domain, and is loaded using the same base URL.
For some reason, in most cases, the local storage is not shared with this web view when loading the web archive, although if I make that same web view load the actual live web page it does share local storage.
I say in most cases, because for some users it works as expected, but for a significant portion of users it isn't sharing local storage.
I think that the main difference between working and not is iOS version. iOS 17 seems to be able to share the local storage but iOS 18 does not. I can't find anything related in the release notes of iOS 18 versions.
There is nothing in the documentation for load(_:mimeType:characterEncodingName:baseURL:), or the header file, that explains anything specific about local storage and webarchive loading.
Does anyone know for sure how local storage is handled when a webarchive is loaded into a web view, and did something change with iOS 18 in regards to this?
Hello all,
I'm building a web application in ASP.NET MVC (.NET Framework 4.7.2), from this web app I need to send push notifications to users. For the ones who are logged in with windows/android, everything works as expected, but I can't manage to get it work on the apple side.
If I use the same methods to subscribe to push notifications, it shows me the popup that asks the user to enable push notifications, and then I get an endpoint like this:
https://web.push.apple.com/QKC1Muic0H7...
It doesn't work using this (taking the part after https://web.push.apple.com/), I keep getting "Bad device token" (trying to send the notification via APNS).
Then I found out that there is another method to register the device from the frontend, and this one should give me the real device token:
window.safari.pushNotification.requestPermission
But this one doesn't show me the popup, it gives me "denied" without a reason.
I'm trying to a test application which is here https://pwa.vctplanner.it, the web push id is web.it.vctplanner, I created a push package downloadable from POST https://pwa.vctplanner.it/api/v2/PushPackages/web.it.vctplanner, and the code from the frontend is this:
function registerSafariPush() {
// Controlla se Safari Push Notifications è disponibile
if (!('safari' in window) || !('pushNotification' in window.safari)) {
console.log("Safari Push Notifications non supportate su questo browser.");
return;
}
// Il tuo Website Push ID registrato su Apple Developer
var websitePushId = "web.it.vctplanner";
// Controlla lo stato della permission
var permissionData = window.safari.pushNotification.permission(websitePushId);
switch (permissionData.permission) {
window.safari.pushNotification.requestPermission(
'https://pwa.vctplanner.it', // URL del server che serve il Push Package
websitePushId,
{}, // dati opzionali da inviare al server
function (permission) {
if (permission.permission === 'granted') {
console.log("Notifiche push abilitate!");
sendSubscriptionToServer({ endpoint: permission.deviceToken });
} else {
console.log("Notifiche push non abilitate dall'utente.");
}
}
);
break;
case 'denied': // L'utente ha negato
console.log("Notifiche push negate.");
break;
case 'granted': // L'utente ha già autorizzato
console.log("Notifiche push già autorizzate.");
sendSubscriptionToServer({ endpoint: permissionData.deviceToken });
break;
}
}
Any suggestions of what I'm missing? Is there a complete guide to how generate the push package?
Thank you
So I have web Augmented Reality apps hosted on AWS S3. It worked fine for a month, but as soon as the IOS 18.4 update was installed they stopped working. It works on every other device and IOS versions.
The URLs for the mentioned AR experiences:
digitechonline.in/solsprefimaginewt8/
digitechonline.in/solsprefimaginewt8p2/
digitechonline.in/orocarear/
These AR experiences get stuck on the loading screen and either reload or give an error. Ideally the camera is supposed to open.
I have tested it on Safari, Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome browsers.
They were created through Unity webgl and hosted on AWS S3 bucket. Please provide a quick solution to this.
Bit of an odd one here, just keen to understand if it’s just me or a more generic issue.
For all other apps, I can drag the icon from the dock to place into stage manager left, centre or right.
However when I try to do the same with Safari (and only Safari), it just doesn’t work at all.
I can repeat this 100%, has been an issue with 26.0, 26.1 and now 26.2. Can confirm this isn’t a problem on my 11” M4 iPad pro running same O/S.
Here is a video showing the issue (YouTube)

iOS 18.4 introduces the new WKWebExtension API to support extensions in WKWebView. However, for extensions that have migrated to Manifest V3 and use an extension service worker as the background script, it's currently not possible to inspect them through Safari.
This is only thing I can see, I don't know how to inspect the details of the "background.js"
I'm wondering—has this changed? Is it now possible to inspect extension service workers?
How did you test apple-app-site-association in non-production environments that are usually not public?

Our UI-less share extension (com.apple.services) appears in Safari and Chrome. We raise a popup "Open in (app)..." via the Action.js script document.location.href = urlScheme://... in Safari.
However, in Chrome, while our extension executes, parses the URL item attachment from Chrome, it never triggers that popup or opens our app.
How can a UI-less share extension open our app from Chrome?
Is the accepted practice, despite guidelines, turning the com.apple.ui-services view controller invisible and auto-openURLing? Several apps on the store appear to do this, immediately popping their app without any confirmation dialog or UI in both Safari and Chrome. https://stackoverflow.com/a/79369242
当设备连接到没有互联网的 Wi-Fi SSID(例如,硬件设备的 AP)时,我看到 NSURLSession(multipathServiceType = NSURLSessionMultipathServiceTypeInteractive)和 WKWebView 之间的行为存在令人费解的差异。
我使用 C API nw_path_monitor来监视nw_path_status_satisfied。

Hello from Leipzig, Germany!
I noticed that when vertically scrolling in Safari 26 on my Mac, the content of the website I am currently working on is visible in the tab and URL bar with a liquid glass effect. I then looked at various other websites. Some websites have an opaque top bar. Some websites have a transparent top bar where content is visible when scrolling. On the Apple website, the top bar is opaque in light mode but transparent in dark mode. Unfortunately, I can't find a way to control this behavior. Has anyone found out more about this?
I built a web application using the Apple Pay on the Web Interactive Demo with the Payment Request API, but encountered a few issues:
The initiated web Apple Pay interface shows a spinning circle at the bottom and cannot proceed with payment(Bottom display:正在处理). What could be causing this?
How to set up sandbox testing for payments?
How to asynchronously and synchronously retrieve payment results (backend code to fetch payment results)? The demo only shows frontend code using await response.complete("success"); for retrieving payment results
my demo URL: https://shop.wowseer.com/rsolomakhin/pr/applepay/
Our app connects to the headend to get a IDP login URL for each connection session, for example: “https://myvpn.ocwa.com/+CSCOE+/saml/sp/login?ctx=3627097090&acsamlcap=v2” and then open embedded webview to load the page. (Note: the value of ctx is session token which changes every time). Quite often the webview shows blank white screen. After user cancel the connection and re-connect, the 2nd time webview loads the content successfully.
The working case logs shows:
didReceiveAuthenticationChallenge is called
decidePolicyForNavigationAction is called twice
didReceiveAuthenticationChallenge is called
decidePolicyForNavigationResponse is called
didReceiveAuthenticationChallenge is called
But the failure case shows:
Filed to terminate process: Error Domain=com.apple.extensionKit.errorDomain Code=18 "(null)" UserInfo={NSUnderlyingError=0x11461c240 {Error Domain=RBSRequestErrorDomain Code=3 "No such process found" UserInfo={NSLocalizedFailureReason=No such process found}}}
didReceiveAuthenticationChallenge is called

decidePolicyForNavigationResponse is called
If we stop calling evaluateJavaScript code to get userAgent, the blank page happens less frequently. Below is the code we put in makeUIView():
func makeUIView(context: Context) -> WKWebView
{
if let url = URL(string: self.myUrl)
{
let request = URLRequest(url: url)
webview.evaluateJavaScript("navigator.userAgent")
{
result, error in
if let error = error
{
NSLog("evaluateJavaScript Error: \(error)")
}
else
{
let agent = result as! String + " " + self.myUserAgent
webview.customUserAgent = agent
webview.load(request)
}
}
}
return self.webview
}
Found some posts saying call evaluateJavaScript only after WKWebView has finished loading its content. However, it will block us to send the userAgent info via HTTP request. And I don’t think it is the root cause since the problem still occurs with less frequency.
There is no problem to load same web page on Windows desktop and Android devices. The problem only occurs on iOS and macOS which both use WKWebview APIs.
Is there a bug in WKWebview?
Thanks,
Ying
I am calling fetch with a POST on page1 in Safari. No special cache parameters on the fetch call.
The response from the server is a 303 redirect to page2
The second page -- page2 -- is in my browser's cache with cache-control "public, max-age=31536000, immutable".
For some reason, the page2 redirect is causing a server hit to re-GET the second page every time instead of pulling from cache.
If I instead directly get the second page by doing a fetch on page2, there is no server hit.
If I do this on Chrome or Firefox, it behaves as I would expect, pulling page2 from the cache with no server hit.
In case it matters, the fetch is coming from within an iFrame. Also, if I change the original POST to a GET, the problem still happens.
I am using a pretty old version of Safari on my Mac, so I could chalk it up to that, but I am getting the same behavior with Safari on my iPhone with iOS 18.3.2
Any ideas?
Thanks.

I have compiled some Java code to WebAssembly via TeaVM and wrapped it in a PWA. The resulting code runs nicely in Firefox and Chrome but throws an exception in Safari.
CompileError: WebAssembly.Module doesn't parse at byte 1657: invalid extended GC op 24, in function at index 2251
Can anybody tell me what's wrong with that code? I mean it can't be so bad if Firefox and Chrome can parse and run it without problems. I am using the most recent versions of all browsers and the offending code can be found here:
Run the demo via: https://mpmediasoft.de/demos/Emmentaler/Emmentaler-Demo-TeaVM-Wasm/index.html
The offending wasm file is: https://mpmediasoft.de/demos/Emmentaler/Emmentaler-Demo-TeaVM-Wasm/tvw/ModelBridgeTeaVM.wasm
With Safari the demo just shows some empty space instead of a complex polygon. You can see the error in the javascript console of Safari.

I am following up on Thread (https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/733233). Currently, SFSafariExtensionManager.getStateOfSafariExtension only returns if an extension is enabled, but not if "Allow in Private Browsing" is toggled on.
Is there an API in macOS 26 and Safari 19 that allows a native Safari App Extension to detect this specific permission?
I want to confirm the specifications and behavior of Safari.
We have a system built on Microsoft Azure that uses Azure AD B2C for authentication.
When we logging in, there is a phone authentication feature where a call is made to the registered phone number.
However, this phone authentication does not work properly only on iPhone's Safari. The specific situation is listed below:
When performing phone authentication on iPhone's Safari, a call is made from Azure AD B2C, and pressing the # button on the Safari screen can be done. But then, it transitions to an error screen.
We tried multiple iPhone devices and multiple iOS versions, but the result was the same.
But when accessing the system on a PC, and performing phone authentication, it works without any errors.
Also when we use browsers other than Safari (for example, Google Chrome and Firefox) on the iPhone, the phone authentication works without any errors, too.
Even with Safari, if the device displaying the login screen and the device making the call are different, phone authentication works without any errors, too.(it fails if they are the same device).
We reached out Microsoft about this issue, and they responded that:
The Azure resource called FrontDoor at the front end of Azure AD B2C supports the HTTP/2 protocol, and HTTP/2 protocol is used in communication with Safari.
In Safari's HTTP/2 communication, when a call is received while the screen is displayed, a reset packet is sent to the web server (in this case, the web server is FrontDoor).
This interrupts the session, causing a session termination error on the Azure AD B2C side, and phone authentication fails.
Therefore, we would like to ask you the following two points:
In HTTP/2 communication, does the Safari browser send a reset packet to the web server when it receives a phone call?
If so, what is the cause of this behavior? And are there any measures to prevent the reset packet from being sent?
