Pass Video/ Frames to a Shader Graph?
Wondering if this is even possible without using CVImageBuffer and passing each frame as an image which I imagine will be very expensive. Have a PoC of a shader graph that applies a radial zoom effect to an image. In RealityKit I'm passing the image as a resource: if let textureResource = try? await TextureResource(named: "fuji") { let value = MaterialParameters.Value.textureResource(textureResource) try? material.setParameter(name: "MyImage", value: value) model.model?.materials = [material] } Thanks in advance

Vision Pro stucks on "Retrieving configuration"
Hi, after upgrading to 2.4.1 (from 1.0) my vision stucks on "Retrieving configuration" screen. Apple Store didn't support my case since it has been sold in USA and the product isn't still present in italian market. I don't have dev strap, how can I manage the issue? Thank you

Screenshot using visionOS (Code) on Apple Vision Pro
I want to create a screenshot (static image) of the current view on the Apple Vision Pro using written code in visionOS. Unfortunately, I currently can’t find a way to achieve this. The only option I’ve found so far is through Reality Composer Pro. However, since I want to accomplish this directly through code, this approach is not an option for me.

Animation handling on Scene change
I work on a game where I use timeline animations in Reality Composer Pro. The game runs in an immersive space, but can be paused where I then move the whole level root entity from the immersive space to another RealityView in a Window Group. When the player continues I do it exactly the other way around to move the level root from the window group back to my immersive space RealityView. And it seems like all animations get automatically stopped and restarted when the scene gets changed. The problem is, it does not resume where it stopped before, it completely starts again from where it stopped and therefore, has for example a wrong y offset as visible in the picture. For example in the picture, the yellow sphere loops the following animation: 0 to 100 100 to -100 -100 to 0 If I now pause the game (and basically switch scenes), the previous animation gets stopped and restarted at position y = 100. So now it loops: 100 to 200 200 to 0 0 to 100 I already tried all kind of setups - like: Setting the animations relative to root, parent, local Using behaviors (on Added to Scene, on Notification) And finally even by accessing the availableAnimations directly and saving the playback controller of the animation There I saw, if I manually trigger the following code before switching the scene, everything works as expected: Button("Reset") { animationPlaybackController.time = 0 animationPlaybackController.pause() animationPlaybackController.stop(blendOutDuration: 0.00001) } But if I use time = 0 with .stop() directly, the time = 0 seems to be ignored and I get the same behavior as before that it stops in a wrong y offset, hence my assumption that animations get stopped and invalidated once they change the scene. I tried to call the code manually on ImmersiveSpace.onDisappear, WindowGroup.onAppear and different kind of SceneEvents subscriptions, but unfortunately nothing worked. So am I doing something wrong in general or is there a way to fix this?

RealityView Not Refreshing With SwiftData
Hi, I am trying to update what entities are visible in my RealityView. After the SwiftData set is updated, I have to restart the app for it to appear in the RealityView. Also, the RealityView does not close when I move to a different tab. It keeps everything on and tracking, leaving the model in the same location I left it. import SwiftUI import RealityKit import MountainLake import SwiftData struct RealityLakeView: View { @Environment(\.modelContext) private var context @Query private var items: [Item] var body: some View { RealityView { content in print("View Loaded") let lakeScene = try? await Entity(named: "Lake", in: mountainLakeBundle) let anchor = AnchorEntity(.plane(.horizontal, classification: .any, minimumBounds: SIMD2<Float>(0.2, 0.2))) @MainActor func addEntity(name: String) { if let lakeEntity = lakeScene?.findEntity(named: name) { // Add the Cube_1 entity to the RealityView anchor.addChild(lakeEntity) } else { print(name + "entity not found in the Lake scene.") } } addEntity(name: "Island") for item in items { if(item.enabled) { addEntity(name: item.value) } } // Add the horizontal plane anchor to the scene content.add(anchor) content.camera = .spatialTracking } placeholder: { ProgressView() } .edgesIgnoringSafeArea(.all) } } #Preview { RealityLakeView() }

vision shareplay nearby codes expired
it looks like one week after accepting as a nearby other AVP device... it expires since we are providing our clients for a timeless app to walk inside archtiecture, it's a shame that not technical staff should connect every week 5 devices to work together is there any roundabout for this issue or straight to the wishlist ? thanks for the support !!

Volumetric window not sharing in SharePlay session for VisionOS
I've been struggling with this for far too long so I've decided to finally come here and see if anyone can point me to the documentation that I'm missing. I'm sure it's something so simple but I just can't figure it out. I can SharePlay our test app with my brother (device to device) but when I open a volumetric window, it says "not shared" under it. I assume this will likely fix the video sharing problem we have as well. Everything else works so smooth but SharePlay has just been such a struggle for me. It's the last piece to the puzzle before we can put it on the App Store.

xform called "Scene" breaks animations on Quicklook starting with iOS15
Hello, We discovered that a bunch of our old animated models were no longer animated on iOS15 and onwards. After a few days of playing spot the difference between usda files I noticed that all the broken models had an xform called "Scene". Lo and behold, changing the name of that xform fixed the issue on all the models. Even lowercase "scene" makes the animations work again. Is "Scene" a reserved keyword or something? What other keywords do we need to avoid so we can create more robust USDZ files? I'm surprised this issue isn't more widespread considering Blender wraps models in a "Scene" node. At the drive link below you can find two animated cube USDZs. The only difference is the name of one of the xforms. The one with a "Scene" xform is not animated in quicklook (replicated on iPhone 13 iOS v15.2, iPhone 13 iOS v 18.3, and various devices on Browserstack including iPhone 16 iOS v18.3). https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1dch1WaM9O6mbHy29S6NGWgnSHkZkPiBf?usp=sharing

Depth matrix accuracy with the iPhone 14 Pro and Lidar
Hello Community, I’m currently working with the sample code “CapturingDepthUsingTheLiDARCamera” and using it to capture the depth map of an image taken with the iPhone 14 Pro. From this depth map, I generate a point cloud using the intrinsic camera parameters. I've noticed that objects not facing the camera directly appear distorted in the resulting point cloud. For example: An object with surfaces that are perpendicular to each other appears with a sharper angle in the point cloud — around 60° instead of 90°. My question is: Is this due to the general accuracy limitations of the LiDAR sensor? Or could it be related to the sample code? To obtain the depth map, I’m using: AVCapturePhoto.depthData.converting(toDepthDataType: kCVPixelFormatType_DepthFloat32) Thanks in advance for your help!

Vision - Time travel door
Hello All, We're going to do a scene now, kind of like a time travel door. When the user selects the scene, the user passes through the door to show the current scene. The changes in the middle need to be more natural. It's even better if you can walk through an immersive space... There is very little information now. How can I start doing this? Is there any information I can refer to thanks

RealityKit fullscreen layer
Hi! I'm currently trying to render another XR scene in front of a RealityKit one. Actually, I'm anchoring a plane to the head with a shader to display for left/right eye side-by-side images. By default, the camera has a near plane so I can directly draw at z=0. Is there a way to change the camera near plane? Or maybe there is a better solution to overlay image/texture for left/right eyes? Ideally, I would layer some kind of CompositorLayer on RealityKit, but that's sadly not possible from what I know. Thanks in advance and have a good day!

360 Image quality too low even with 72MP How to improve or decrease sphere size
Using a 360 image that I have taken with 72MP with a Insta360 X3 I would like to add those images into my VisionPro and see them surrounding me completely as we expect of a 360 image. I was able to do by performing the described on some tutorial. The problem is the quality. On my 2D window the image looks with great quality. I will still write down the code: struct ImmersiveView: View { @Environment(AppModel.self) var appModel var body: some View { RealityView { content in content.add(createImmersivePicture(imageName: appModel.activeSpace)) } } func createImmersivePicture(imageName: String) -> Entity { let sphereRadius: Float = 1000 let modelEntity = Entity() let texture = try? TextureResource.load(named: imageName, options: .init(semantic: .raw, compression: .none)) var material = UnlitMaterial() material.color = .init(texture: .init(texture!)) modelEntity.components.set( ModelComponent( mesh: .generateSphere( radius: sphereRadius ), materials: [material] ) ) modelEntity.scale = .init(x: -1, y: 1, z: 1) modelEntity.transform.translation += SIMD3<Float>(0.0, 10.0, 0.0) return modelEntity } } Since the quality is a problem. I thought about reducing the radius of the sphere or decreasing the scale. On both cases, nothing changes. I have tried: modelEntity.scale = .init(x: -0.5, y: 0.5, z: 0.5) And also let sphereRadius: Float = 2000, let sphereRadius: Float = 500, but nothing is changed. I also get the warning: IOSurface creation failed: e00002c2 parentID: 00000000 properties: { IOSurfaceAddress = 4651830624; IOSurfaceAllocSize = 35478941; IOSurfaceCacheMode = 0; IOSurfaceMapCacheAttribute = 1; IOSurfaceName = CMPhoto; IOSurfacePixelFormat = 1246774599; } IOSurface creation failed: e00002c2 parentID: 00000000 property: IOSurfaceCacheMode IOSurface creation failed: e00002c2 parentID: 00000000 property: IOSurfacePixelFormat IOSurface creation failed: e00002c2 parentID: 00000000 property: IOSurfaceMapCacheAttribute IOSurface creation failed: e00002c2 parentID: 00000000 property: IOSurfaceAddress IOSurface creation failed: e00002c2 parentID: 00000000 property: IOSurfaceAllocSize IOSurface creation failed: e00002c2 parentID: 00000000 property: IOSurfaceName Is there anything I can do to reduce the radius or just to improve the quality itself?

ARKit camera transform orientation vector doesn't match physical device heading (despite `.gravityAndHeading`)
Hi all, I'm working on an ARKit-based iOS app where I need to accurately determine the direction the device is facing to localize objects in the real world. I'm using: let config = ARWorldTrackingConfiguration() config.worldAlignment = .gravityAndHeading Thus, I would expect the world alignment to behave as given in the gravityAndHeading page. The AR session is started after verifying that CLLocationManager.headingAccuracy <= 20, and the compass appears to be calibrated. However, I'm seeing a major inconsistency: When the rear camera is physically pointed toward true North, I would expect: cameraTransform.columns.2.z ≈ -1 // (i.e. ARKit's -Z pointing North) But instead, I'm consistently seeing: cameraTransform.columns.2.z ≈ +0.97 // Implies camera is facing South Meanwhile, the translation vector behaves as expected: As I physically move North, cameraTransform.columns.3.z becomes more negative, matching the world’s +Z = South assumption. For example, let's say I have the device in landscapeRight (or landscapeLeft for UIDeviceOrientation). Let's say the device rear camera is pointing towards True North, and I start moving towards True North. I get something like this: Camera Transform = simd_float4x4( [ [0.98446155, -0.030119859, 0.172998, 0.0], [0.023979114, 0.9990097, 0.037477385, 0.0], [-0.17395553, -0.032746706, 0.98420894, 0.0], [0.024039675, -0.037087332, -0.22780673, 0.99999994] ]) As you can see, the cameraTransform.columns.2.z is positive despite the rear camera pointing towards True North, while cameraTransform.columns.3.z is correctly positive as the device is moving towards True North. So here is my question: Why is cameraTransform.columns.2.z positive when the rear camera is physically facing North? Any clarity would be deeply appreciated. I've read the documentation and tested with different heading accuracies and AR session resets, but I keep running into this orientation mismatch. Thanks in advance!

ARDepthData.confidenceMap only returns low confidence on certain devices
A few users have recently reported no longer being able to capture point clouds using our app, specifically on iPhone 15 Pro devices. We recently found an in-house device that exhibits this behavior and found that the confidenceMap contains only low confidence values, regardless of the environment being captured. Our app uses a higher confidence threshold; setting the threshold to a lower value produces noisy results as expected, so that is a non-viable option. Other LiDAR based apps have been tested with this device and the results are the same. No points, or noisy point clouds in apps that allow a lower confidence threshold setting. On devices that exhibit this behavior the "Displaying a point cloud using scene depth" Apple sample app can be used to visualize the issue. First reports of this new behavior occurred as early as iOS 18.4. Looking for recommendations on which team(s) at Apple to reach out to with these findings since the behavior manifests on only a small sample of devices.

The pinch operation by the left hand should be stopped.
Hi, I have a question. In visionOS, when a user looks at a button and performs a pinch gesture with their index finger and thumb, the button responds. By default, this works with both the left and right hands. However, I want to disable the pinch gesture when performed with the left hand while keeping it functional with the right hand. I understand that the system settings allow users to configure input for both hands, the left hand only, or the right hand only. However, I would like to control this behavior within the app itself. Is this possible? Best regards.

Entity jittering when using hand anchor
Hello! I'm a developer of Ping Pong for Apple Vision Pro (Ping Pong Club). I'm experiencing an issues with collisions between ball and paddle. Sometimes the ball just unexpectedly flying away like it has been hit to hard. I believe this is happening because hand anchors are jittering (ping pong paddle has hand anchor component) and at the time of collision unnecessary micro motion produced. I've build a demo app to demonstrate that: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1gBh-DsXuVZdvDrrD7gJcbJ_hg7tvVKUV/view?usp=share_link Video: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1poPbsJdBz87edqrWIfBt1eSVzfm5CTek/view?usp=sharing Is there a way to add some threshold to prevent jittering?
