Reply to Enrollment Failure – Unable to Complete Apple Developer Program Registration
Hi, I’m currently facing a somewhat similar issue while trying to enroll in the Apple Developer Program. I have been attempting to complete my enrollment since February 24th. In my case, the enrollment process goes through, but the purchase fails when confirming the payment. I contacted both the Apple Developer Support team and the iTunes/Media Services support team and raised multiple support tickets. Each time I was advised to wait 72 hours before trying again, and I followed those instructions. So far, I have waited through four separate 72-hour waiting periods, but the issue still persists. The iTunes support team asks me to contact the Apple Developer team, while the Developer team asks me to contact the iTunes team. Because of this, I seem to be stuck in a loop between both teams. Since your issue occurs before reaching the payment stage, it could be related to Apple’s internal verification or account checks. In that case, the Developer Support team usually needs to review or escalate the issue internally. Hope your issue gets resolved soon.

Reply to Clarification regarding Apple Developer Program enrollment status
Hi, I’m currently facing a somewhat related issue with the Apple Developer Program enrollment process as well. I have been trying to complete my enrollment since February 24th. I raised multiple support tickets and contacted both the Apple Developer Support team and the iTunes/Media Services support team. Each time I was asked to wait 72 hours before trying again. I followed their instructions and waited each time before retrying. So far, I have waited through four separate 72-hour waiting periods, but the issue still persists. The iTunes support team asks me to contact the Apple Developer team, while the Developer team asks me to contact the iTunes team. Because of this, I seem to be stuck in a loop between both teams. You might want to check if something similar happened in your case. In some situa tions, the payment gets added to the Apple ID balance instead of completing the developer program purchase. You can verify this by going to: Settings → Tap your Apple ID name → Payment & Delivery → Check the Apple ID Balance. In your case, since the payment and identity verification are already completed, it might simply be a backend processing delay and the status may update after some time. Hope your issue gets resolved soon.

Hi, I faced a very similar issue during my enrollment process. I have been trying to complete the Apple Developer Program purchase since February 24th. During this time, I raised multiple support tickets and contacted both the Apple Developer Support team and the iTunes/Media Services support team. Each time I was advised to wait 72 hours before trying the payment again. I followed these instructions and waited every time before retrying. So far, I have waited through four separate 72-hour waiting periods, and even after the fourth 72-hour window, the purchase still fails with the same message. The iTunes support team asks me to contact the Apple Developer team, while the Developer team asks me to contact the iTunes team. Because of this, I seem to be stuck in a loop between both teams. In my case, I also discovered that when I attempted the payment using a different Apple ID in the Developer app while my iPhone was logged in with my personal Apple ID, the money got added to the Apple ID balance of the account logged into the phone. Unfortunately, that balance cannot be withdrawn and also cannot be used to purchase the Apple Developer Program. It can only be used for Apple services like subscriptions. You might want to check if something similar happened in your case. You can verify it by going to: Settings → Tap your Apple ID name → Payment & Delivery → Check the Apple ID Balance. Hope this helps, and I hope your issue gets resolved soon.

Hi, I also faced a similar issue. I used a different email ID to purchase the Apple Developer account, but on my iPhone I was logged in with my personal Apple ID. Even though I used the different account in the Apple Developer app, the money got added to the Apple wallet of the personal Apple ID that was logged into the phone. The amount gets parked in the Apple ID balance, and unfortunately it cannot be withdrawn or used to purchase the Apple Developer account. It can only be used for Apple services or subscriptions. You may want to check your Apple ID wallet balance by going to: Settings → Tap on your Apple ID name → Payment & Delivery → Here you will see the Apple ID Balance.

Hi, I am also facing the same issue since February 24. Every time I try to complete the purchase, I receive the same error message. I contacted the iTunes support team, and they advised me to try again after 72 hours. I followed their instructions and waited for the required time. However, even after waiting three times and retrying the payment, the issue still persists. I have now attempted the payment for the fourth time, and I am currently waiting through another 72-hour window. The iTunes support team asks me to contact the Apple Developer team, while the Developer team asks me to contact the iTunes team. Because of this, I seem to be stuck in a loop between both teams. The iTunes team also mentioned that there is no dedicated team specifically handling Apple Developer Program purchase issues, and they informed me that the issue has been escalated to their backend team. At this point, I am still unable to complete the purchase of the Apple Developer account.

Apple Developer Payment Issue (India – UPI + Developer App Case) Sharing this in case it helps another founder avoid confusion. I was trying to purchase the Apple Developer Program under my company Apple ID using the Apple Developer App on my iPhone. Inside the Developer App, I was correctly logged in using my company Apple ID. When I initiated the ₹8,700 payment using UPI: The UPI auto-renew mandate failed. The app then prompted me to complete the payment using Apple Account balance (Apple Wallet). I proceeded with the payment. The transaction was successful. However, the ₹8,700 was credited to my personal Apple ID’s Apple Account balance, not the company Apple ID. Why This Happened Even though I was logged into the Developer App with my company Apple ID, in my iPhone Settings, my personal Apple ID was signed in. When the payment was processed to Apple Wallet, it was credited to the Apple ID logged in at the device level (Settings) — not the Apple ID inside the Developer App. To verify this, I checked: Settings → Your Name → Payment & Delivery → Payment Methods There I could see: Apple Account Balance: ₹8,700 This confirmed the amount was added to my personal Apple ID balance. What Apple Support Told Me After speaking with Apple Support: The amount cannot be refunded back to the bank. It cannot be transferred to another Apple ID. It will remain as Apple Account Balance. It can be used for future Apple purchases under that personal Apple ID. So the money is not lost — it is just locked to that specific Apple ID’s wallet. Correct Way to Purchase Apple Developer Program Apple advised the following: Completely sign out of the personal Apple ID from iPhone Settings. Sign in at the device level using the Apple ID under which you want to purchase the Developer Program (company ID). Then proceed with the payment. I followed these steps. However, due to multiple earlier attempts, the company Apple ID is temporarily restricted from making purchases for 72 hours. After 72 hours, I will retry the payment with the correct Apple ID signed in at the device level. Key Learning (Important for Indian Founders Using UPI) If you are purchasing the Apple Developer Program via the Developer App in India: The Apple ID signed in under iPhone Settings controls where Apple Wallet payments get credited. Logging into the Developer App alone is not enough. Device-level Apple ID must match the Developer enrollment Apple ID. Otherwise, the payment will go to the wrong Apple Account balance. This was not a failed payment — it was a wallet mapping issue between the Developer App and the device-level Apple ID. Hope this helps someone avoid the same confusion.

Hi @Rakan3wad, I also tried making the payment again, but I’m facing a different issue. Under the Account section, it still shows the option “Continue Your Enrollment.” When I click on it, it takes me to the page where the button says “Subscription fee: ₹8700.00/year.” But when I try to proceed, I get a popup saying: “Your purchase couldn’t be completed. For assistance, contact iTunes Support." So currently I’m stuck and unable to proceed further. Let’s see what happens in your case after the second payment. Hopefully it activates soon. Please update us once you receive any confirmation. Thanks.
