Hi everyone,
I'm looking for a way to programmatically set the left/right audio balance to perfect center (50/50) using either a Terminal command or AppleScript.
Background:
The audio balance slider in System Settings > Sound > Output & Input works functionally, but I have difficulty determining when it's positioned at the exact center point. The visual nature of the slider makes it challenging for me to achieve the precision I need, and I end up adjusting it repeatedly trying to get it perfectly centered.
What I'm looking for:
A Terminal command that can set the audio balance to exact center
An AppleScript that accomplishes the same thing
Any other programmatic method to ensure perfect 50/50 balance
I've tried searching through the defaults command documentation and Core Audio frameworks but haven't found the right approach yet. Has anyone successfully automated this setting before?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
Dylan

I submitted a Mac application for a safari ad blocker extension about 15 hours ago and it's still in progress. Is it normal for notarization to take this long? It's my first time submitting something for notarization so maybe that's why it's taking longer than expected?

A couple days ago I enrolled in the Apple Developer Program as an individual, filled out my address and payment information, paid the fee, my bank account got charged, and I received an email with a receipt and order number.
The email with the receipt says the following:
To access your membership resources and benefits, visit Account on the Apple developer website. Simply sign in with the Apple ID you used to enroll. Please note that no package will be shipped to you, and you can begin using your membership resources right away."
If I click on my order number it says:
"Enrollment Complete",
"Electronically Delivered(Completed)",
and "Thanks for being a part of the Apple Developer Program.".
However, when I sign in to my account on developer.apple.com, and then click on account, it says
"Pending",
"Purchase your membership." and,
"To continue your enrollment, complete your purchase now.",
If I already paid and my order says, "Enrollment Complete", why do I still not have access to sign any builds.
I would think this would be instant approval being that I live in the US, and have already been charged, but I guess not.
Has anyone else had this happen to them? If so what was the resolution?
