Solution: I used the solution to the comment above me. I paid using my dads bank card AND made sure the contact information (underneath billing address ) was definitely linked to the bank card . All that i changed from the multiple attempts compared to the successful attempt was changing the contact information and card. I hope anyone reading this gets a positive outcome as this does get really annoying. all the best!
