I believe that -ld64 is now deprecated, try using -ld_classic instead.

this, happening regularly after an update to Xcode 13.3.1, running on iMac Pro. If I'm lucky and have enough spare time, I can kill the sim with a force quit, but it takes ages for a gap in the sim time-slicing to get control to do it. After killing the sim process, a smal dialog appears that says something like "invalid device state"

I resolved by downloading a fresh GitHub clone, but Xcode shouldn't be doing this.

Duh...! Sorry, yeah Xcode 12 - unfortunately I frequently flip the OS and Xcode versions talking with colleagues :)

This - it's happening to me too in iOS 15, my app works fine in XCode 14 built apps - suggest filing a radar - it's almost certainly a bug.
