EKEventStore.events(matching:) duplicates?
Hi, In the calendar app I created an event called E1 on an iCloud calendar and noticed 2 entries, so I suspect EKEventStore.events(matching:) returned it. Note: I am not referring to recurring events. Used an iCloud calendar Question Is it possible EKEventStore.events(matching:) to return duplicate events? When I did search the following was reported by AI, but I am not very sure, so hence the question. The EKEventStore.events(matching:) method returning duplicate events is a well-known, expected behavior in EventKit. It typically happens because a single event exists across multiple calendars, has multiple participants/invitees, or EventKit is fetching the event from different sync sources (like iCloud and a local cache) simultaneously.

#Predicate needs better validation
Hi, Overview I am finding #Predicate to be a bit tricky when used with Swift Data It compiles fine but crashes at runtime I know the fix for the problem just wondering if such pitfalls can be avoided at compile time Exception *** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: 'can't use NULL on left hand side' terminating due to uncaught exception of type NSException CoreData: error: SQLCore dispatchRequest: exception handling request: <NSSQLFetchRequestContext: 0x11209b000> , can't use NULL on left hand side with userInfo of (null) Questions Could anything be done to improve the safety to avoid such issues at runtime? Could I write the code better (better than the fix below) to avoid this? My thoughts Fix is possible however it wasn't obvious to me that there was a problem with my original code Would be nice to prevent them at compile time if possible. Currently got to be really careful to avoid such crashes. Code import Foundation import SwiftData @Model class Car { var name: String var modelRawValue: String? init(name: String, modelRawValue: String?) { self.name = name self.modelRawValue = modelRawValue } } enum CarModel: String, CaseIterable { case modelA case modelB } func makePredicate(filterModels: [CarModel]?) -> Predicate<Car> { let filterRawValues = filterModels?.map { $0.rawValue } let predicate = #Predicate<Car> { car in if let filterRawValues { if let carModelRawValue = car.modelRawValue { filterRawValues.contains(carModelRawValue) } else { false } } else { true } } return predicate } func fetch(context: ModelContext) throws { let predicate = makePredicate(filterModels: nil) let fetchDescriptor = FetchDescriptor(predicate: predicate) do { let cars = try context.fetch(fetchDescriptor) print(cars.count) } catch { print("Error: \(error)") throw error } } Fix func makePredicate(filterModels: [CarModel]?) -> Predicate<Car> { // Checking nil condition even before creating the predicate fixes the issue guard let filterModels else { return .true } let filterRawValues = filterModels.map { $0.rawValue } let predicate = #Predicate<Car> { car in if let carModelRawValue = car.modelRawValue { filterRawValues.contains(carModelRawValue) } else { false } } return predicate }

Sandbox testing - Clear Purchase History
Hi, Overview I have an app for which I have created a sandbox account. When I try to clear purchase history it doesn't work, it still shows the in-app purchase items (non-consumable in-app purchases) as purchased. I have tied tried the following ways, but none of them work. Any help on this would be much appreciated! Attempt 1: Go to https://appstoreconnect.apple.com/ Users and Access > Sandbox Check sandbox account > Tap Clear Purchase History button Attempt 2: Go to the iPhone > Settings > Developer > Sandbox Apple Account Tap on account > Manage > Clear Purchase History Attempt 3: Sign out of Sandbox account and sign back in Attempt 4: Delete app and re-run app from Xcode

String catalog for app target and widget target and common code
Hi, Overview: I have a project in which: Some files are only in the app target Some files are only in the widget target Some files are in the app and widget target (both targets) Now I would like to add string catalog for localization where strings would automatically detected from the project. Questions: Should I add a separate strings catalog for app target and widget target? What about the code shared between the 2 targets, do I have to do the translations twice for strings corresponding to files belonging to both app and widget target? What is the best approach for my project?

On vision 27, accessoryRectangular shows blank
Hi, On visionOS 27 simulator accessoryRectangular widget shows completely blank with no text. The same widget shows up correctly on iOS 27 simulator. What I have tried: I have checked the timeline provider and they all seem to be generating timeline entries. supportedFamilies include accessoryRectangular I have even hard coded the content in the view for the widget yet only accessoryRectangular for visionOS 27 shows up blank. Isolated problem The same widget shows up correctly on iOS 27 simulator. The problem is only with visionOS 27. Environment: macOS: 26.6.1 (25G76) Xcode: 27.0 beta 5 (27A5237l) Simulator: visionOS 27.0 Questions What am I missing? How can I resolve it? Is this a known issue? Has anyone gotten accessoryRectangular widget showing up on visionOS 27 simulator? Any help on this would be much appreciated.

Transaction.currentEntitlements returning NULL values
Hi, Overview In my project I am using a .storekit StoreKit configuration file that is synced. I have only non-consumable products Problem When I loop through Transaction.currentEntitlements after verification the properties such as transaction.productType are all NULL. Note I have called .finish on the transaction after the following: Processing Transaction.updates Processing purchasing a new product Environment: Xcode 27 Beta 5 iOS 26.6 Questions How can I resolve this? Am I missing something? Should I be using Transaction.latest(for:) instead of Transaction.currentEntitlements?

Mac app automatic cloud sync even when app is cloud
My scenario I have an app which stores data using SwiftData / CloudKit automatic sync It works as expected on iOS, sync happens even when the app is closed. On Mac, when mac app is closed the data from the CloudKit is not pulled into the DB. It would be nice if the widget on the Mac is updated even when the Mac app is closed. Like from a sync from an iPhone. My problem: I don't do anything for sync other than just initializing the ModelContainer and everything is taken care of. The local store has its own system level tables to maintain the sync states. So I am a bit hesitant to do a separate sync in the background process (LoginItem / LaunchAgent / LaunchDaemon. I need to read a lot on this because I am just beginning to explore this part Questions Is it feasible / advisable to have one instance of the ModelContainer created in the background process and access it in the main app for the Mac? Reason for asking is because ModelContainer is the one that does all the sync magically. Or is this too much of an overhead and users can open the app to keep the widget updated?
