"Currently" suggests that it won't require this in the future, I hope. This is a deal-breaker. Externals are our primary drives, to manage complex system configurations, especially for any beta system. That really can't change. I'm not sure it would even work for us to require the model be on the internal drive. It's hard enough to manage Xcode certificates with multiple external systems for one machine; that alone is torquing workflow.
