First iOS app stuck “In Review” since Aug 20 after previous month-long review, App ID 6782402300, Support Case 20000148918981
Hi, I’m looking for guidance from Apple staff or other developers who may be experiencing unusually long App Review times for a first public release / new app. App: Accountable.Social Apple ID: 6782402300 Platform: iOS Developer Support Case: 20000148918981 The review history has been unusually long: July 11: Waiting for Review July 13: In Review July 14: Rejected by Apple July 15: Resubmitted and moved back to In Review The submission then remained in the review process for more than a month. August 18: I withdrew the submission and submitted the updated build again. August 20: New submission moved to In Review. September 1: It is still In Review, with no further message or request for information from App Review. I contacted Apple Developer Support on August 27 and received confirmation that the request was created: Case ID: 20000148918981 However, I have not yet received a substantive response. There is currently no indication in App Store Connect that any action, documentation, metadata change, or additional information is required from my side. This is the app’s first public App Store release. It is a social networking / user-generated-content application, so I understand that the review may require additional scrutiny and I am completely willing to provide anything the App Review team needs. My concern is primarily the duration and lack of communication, especially because the previous review cycle also remained unresolved for an unusually long period. I would appreciate any guidance on the following: Are other developers currently seeing significantly longer review times for new / first-release apps? Can an app remain in “In Review” while undergoing additional or specialist verification internally? Is there any recommended action when a submission has been In Review this long but App Review has not requested any additional information? Should I simply leave the current submission In Review, or is there another appropriate escalation path through Developer Support? If an Apple staff member sees this post, I would greatly appreciate it if they could check or escalate Case 20000148918981. I do not want to withdraw and resubmit again unnecessarily, since that may simply restart the review process. Any experiences from developers with recent first-app submissions would also be very helpful. Thank you.
