What is happening with the Apple App Review process?
This is already our second post on this forum, but we want to bring special attention to this issue because the situation has become extremely frustrating. Our U.S.-based development team has been trying to pass App Review for several weeks now, without success. The experience has been unacceptable. Here is what we are facing: The review waiting time is catastrophic. We have to wait for weeks just to receive a single question from a reviewer. Reviewers do not appear to read what we provide. The App Review Notes section feels like it is not being opened at all. Even when we provide a clear, structured, and detailed explanation, it does not seem to help. The same applies to the Messages section. We provide detailed answers, but the next response often makes it clear that the reviewer has not actually read them. The review is being delayed by strange and unnecessary questions that are already answered in the app description, in the App Review Notes, in the message history, and inside the app itself. In some cases, the reviewer is testing the exact functionality and still asks questions that make no sense. The quality of the review process feels extremely poor. We can see what reviewers are doing inside the app, and frankly, even our junior QA testers test products more carefully and more logically. Expedited review requests do not appear to work for new apps in the U.S. Support requests regarding App Review delays are not properly handled and remain unanswered. We have a professional development team that has built and published dozens of apps in the United States. But we have never experienced anything like this before. What is going on with App Review? Is this a staffing issue? A training issue? A lack of accountability? Or is the App Store simply no longer interested in reviewing new, high-quality products in a reasonable and professional way? We understand that some developers may say their apps pass review on the first attempt. But this thread is not about simple apps. We are talking about complex products that involve licensing, registrations, data protection, compliance disclosures, financial partners, and other serious requirements. We have been trying to pass review since June 11. In the most recent round, we waited 11 days for review just to receive one single question — a question that had already been answered multiple times and was also clearly addressed inside the app. This is not a normal review process. It is becoming impossible to plan launches, honor business commitments, coordinate with partners, or run a serious product roadmap when the review process works this way. At this point, this is not just frustration. This is a genuine appeal from a team that is trying to do everything correctly, transparently, and professionally, but is being blocked by a review process that feels careless, inconsistent, and extremely inefficient. App Stuck in Waiting for Review After Expedited Request
Hello, Our U.S.-registered company recently submitted a new mobile app for App Review on June 11. Since then, the app has only entered review once. We received a rejection, addressed the issue within a few hours, and resubmitted the app for review. Since June 16, the app has remained in “Waiting for Review” status with no further updates. We also submitted an expedited review request on June 18, but we have not received any email response, and the app status has not changed. We are becoming very concerned because this is a serious product for our company. We have signed agreements with business partners, which we provided during the review process, as well as important marketing commitments tied to the app launch. The delay is now putting our business agreements and launch schedule at risk, and our marketing partners have limited flexibility regarding timeline changes. We have provided everything requested for review, including business documentation, legal information, partner agreements, demo accounts, and clear review instructions in a structured format to make the review process as straightforward as possible. We would be very grateful for any advice on what else we can do in this situation, or whether there is any way to help ensure that the app is reviewed as soon as possible. Thank you in advance for your help.
