Are we allowed to download our own developed free iOS apps from AppStore?
Own developed apps on AppStore
You can publish app on the appstore, even free apps.
But they must pass the Appstore review (see the guidelines), which means they have an interest to a general audience (not just your family genealogical tree), have good quality, useful features…
One other way you could try is to just submit a build and prepare for TestFlight.
Your designated users will be able to download from TestFlight and use 90 days. And you can repeat the process with new releases.

I already have a published app on AppStore but my question is if I can myself download it from there or not? Reason I am asking this question is I want to understand if any violations to guidelines will be caused if I am downloading my own app.
You can download your own app. Why would it be a problem ?
What you should not do is rank your own app.

@claude31 Thanks for your answer. It clears my doubt.
