I have seen this in the forums but no one seems to have a good answer for what is happening:
- I have set up my device to use a sandbox account so that i can test the addition of apple pay to my site.
- My device region is set to US so that i can use AmEx and Discover.
- I have already added the test VISA and Mastercard test cards that are listed here (and have had no issues with these two cards): https://developer.apple.com/support/apple-pay-sandbox/
however when i try to add either the AmEx or the Discover cards listed on this page, i get an error that blocks the addition of these cards to my wallet. both errors are different:
- when adding the AmEx, at the point that I submit the card information, I immediately get an error message that says, "Could not add card. Try again later or contact your card issuer for more information"
- when adding the Discover card, I'm able to get to the point where I accept the Terms and Conditions but after this, the process to add the card eventually fails with an error message that says, "Could not add card. Try again later or contact your card issuer for more information"
my development team has confirmed that they've configured our account to accept VISA, MC, AmEx, and Discover but i am still unable to add these test cards.
I have been trying to add them directly through the wallet application. I did also try to add them through the settings application but this failed as well.
I am having no problems with using the test MC and Test Visa cards so I assume that my device set up is correct. Is there some special trick to adding the test AmEx and test Discover cards to Wallet on a test device? Saw one posting on the forums that noted there was a bug of some kind with one of the iOS versions but since I've updated my device to the latest version of iOS, i'm assuming that the iOS version shouldn't be blocking this?
