Sign in with Apple: "Sign Up Not Completed" for every App ID in our team — framework returns canceled (1001) with empty userInfo

Sign in with Apple fails for every App ID in our team (K9UFUZF2XW), on every device and every Apple ID we have tried.

The system sheet appears, the user authenticates successfully, the sheet then shows "Sign Up Not Completed", and no credential is returned. The failure happens after authentication — this is not a client-side rejection.

I have spent several days isolating this and have ruled out everything on my side. Posting the full evidence in case an Apple engineer can look at the server-side state for our team, and in case it helps others hitting the same wall.

WHAT THE FRAMEWORK ACTUALLY RETURNS

The client library we use (expo-apple-authentication) discards the original NSError, so I patched its native layer to surface the raw error verbatim. This is what ASAuthorizationController hands back to didCompleteWithError, immediately after the user authenticated and the sheet displayed "Sign Up Not Completed":

ASAuthorizationError .canceled (rawValue = 1001) domain = com.apple.AuthenticationServices.AuthorizationError code = 1001 desc = The operation couldn't be completed. (com.apple.AuthenticationServices.AuthorizationError, error 1001) userInfo: <empty> NSUnderlyingError: <none>

So the framework reports a user cancellation that never happened, with a completely empty userInfo and no underlying error. There is no diagnostic information on the client at all — I cannot debug this any further from my side, because the information does not exist there.

Note: the same failure surfaces as a different error code depending on the client library version — .unknown (1000) with the older version, .canceled (1001) with the current one. The user-visible behaviour ("Sign Up Not Completed") is identical in both. So the error code is not a reliable signal here.

WHAT I RULED OUT

  1. Not the App ID. I created a brand-new App ID (kz.auraai.ios) with Sign in with Apple enabled as a primary App ID, built a fresh binary, tested on the same device with the same Apple ID — identical failure. Two independent App IDs in the same team fail the same way.

  2. Not the entitlement. Verified inside the signed binary, not just in the portal:

application-identifier = K9UFUZF2XW.kz.auraai.ios com.apple.developer.applesignin = ["Default"]

I also tried the workaround suggested elsewhere on these forums (removing the entitlement while keeping the capability in the portal). That made it strictly worse: iOS then rejects the request instantly, without showing the sheet at all. Which confirms iOS reads the entitlement correctly, the sheet works, and the user authenticates — the failure is downstream of all of that.

  1. No stray or wildcard App IDs. A commonly cited cause is other App IDs in the team lacking the entitlement. I enumerated the whole team via the App Store Connect API: it contains exactly two App IDs, both with APPLE_ID_AUTH = PRIMARY_APP_CONSENT. No wildcard identifiers exist.

  2. Not the Apple ID, the device, or the iOS version. The same Apple ID, on the same device, with the same iOS, signs in successfully through another app belonging to a different team (Expo Go, host.exp.Exponent) — a valid identity token is returned. A second, unrelated Apple ID on another device fails in my app in exactly the same way. So this is not scoped to one account: it affects every user of the app.

  3. Agreements and membership are in good standing. Program License Agreement accepted 30 June 2026; Developer Agreement accepted 26 June 2026; membership active.

  4. Both distribution types fail. TestFlight and ad-hoc.

WHAT IS LEFT

After all of the above, the only variable that differs between the working case (a different team's app, same device, same Apple ID) and the failing case (my app) is the Apple Developer team itself.

This exact signature — sheet renders fully, final server submit fails, "Sign Up Not Completed", delegate reports canceled with no userInfo, not reproducible in other apps on the same device — is documented in thread 122458 ("Error: Sign-Up Not Completed"). In that case it affected multiple developers, including Apple's own sample app, and was ultimately resolved by Apple on the server side, with a recurrence reported in June 2025.

THE ASK

Could someone from Apple check the server-side Sign in with Apple registration for team K9UFUZF2XW (App IDs kz.auraai.app and kz.auraai.ios)?

I am not looking for configuration advice — I have exhausted the client side and there is nothing left to configure. This looks like the same server-side state that was fixed in the referenced cases.

Feedback Assistant: FB23716661 (includes sysdiagnose with the Accounts/AuthKit profile, timestamp, and video of the failure).

This is currently blocking us: because Sign in with Apple works for none of our users, guideline 4.8 prevents us from offering Google Sign-In, so we are shipping with email-only login.

Happy to provide the binary, entitlements dump, or a fresh sysdiagnose on request.

Team ID: FM4893RD63 (MEDIBRIDGE TECH LTD). Bundle IDs: tech.medibridge.app, tech.medibridge.app.staging, tech.medibridge.app.dev — all created 27 Aug 2026.

Every build of every App ID fails on device with AKSQLError -6003 → "No applications were found with the provided Client ID" → AKAuthenticationServerError -24000. The com.apple.developer.applesignin entitlement is in the signed profile and APPLE_ID_AUTH is on all three App IDs; rebuilding, regenerating profiles and re-toggling the capability change nothing.

@Paris X Pinkney — could the same server-side team registration fix applied to GW7XA5CX69 and FRL3DTJQ62 be applied to FM4893RD63?

@Paris X Pinkney — still failing for Team WCCJWRTJZU (app.myquota.ios) as of September 29 on TestFlight build 1395. FB24867593 includes the sysdiagnose with the Accounts/AuthKit profile, the affected Apple ID and the timestamp, per thread 801173. Developer Support case 102963412403 was escalated internally on September 26. Could our App ID be included in the same server-side re-provisioning applied to GW7XA5CX69 and FRL3DTJQ62?

Same issue here. Team W66Z24ZPWQ, App ID com.bojang.app. The native sheet shows "Sign Up Not Completed"; the device log shows akd "Encountered error while fetching developer team: AKSQLError -6003", "No applications were found with the provided Client ID", then "M2 missing" and AKAuthenticationServerError -24000. The entitlement and provisioning profile are verified, and another App ID in the same team (app.drokpo.ios) works on the same device with the same Apple Account. App Review has rejected us twice for it. Filed as FB25056179. Could you please repair the registration for com.bojang.app? Thank you.

Same issue, still not fixed as of 2026-10-07.

Team ID: Z2MC535RQP Bundle ID: com.balbadak.app (App Store app 6797557359) Also reproduced with a brand-new minimal App ID: com.balbadak.siwatest (95-line UIKit project, no backend) Sign in with Apple capability enabled: 2026-08-14 (Primary App Consent)

Symptom: system sheet appears → "Sign Up Not Completed" → ASAuthorizationError 1001 (empty userInfo) akd: "Encountered error while fetching developer team: AKSQLError -6003" → "No applications were found with the provided Client ID" → "M2 missing" → AKAuthenticationServerError -24000

What we tried today (2026-10-07), all still failing:

  • Regenerated the App Store provisioning profile (same cert), new TestFlight build 1.2.4 (27) → same "Sign Up Not Completed"
  • Created a Services ID (com.balbadak.web) + new SIWA key for the web flow → appleid.apple.com shows our app name/icon, but sign-in fails with "There was a problem. Try again." after entering the password

Control test: same device, same Apple Account, an app from a different team (A2H9H48723) signs in successfully.

@Paris X Pinkney could you please apply the same server-side team registration fix to Z2MC535RQP? We have been unable to ship Sign in with Apple since August. Thank you.

  • Device: iPhone 15 Pro Max, iOS 26.5.2, Apple ID with 2FA. Sign in with Apple works in other third-party apps on the same device.
  • Failure: 2026-10-09 10:23:58 UTC. Face ID succeeds, then the sheet shows "Sign-Up Not Completed"; no credential returned.

The code-level support form will not accept the request without a focused Xcode test project, so we are posting here as the other affected teams did. If a DTS engineer can check the Sign in with Apple registration for Team ZW629DHDY3 / com.vedlego.app on the backend, we would be grateful. We can collect a sysdiagnose if requested.

On the same device and Apple Account it completes a brand-new sign-up, tested today after removing its entry from Settings > Sign in with Apple.

akd log, 2026-10-10 02:27 UTC, iPhone XR, iOS 18.7.10:

Verified on our side: applesignin entitlement in the signed binary and the embedded profile, profile status Active, app not listed under Settings > Sign in with Apple. The public authorize endpoint returns invalid_client for the failing bundle ID and invalid_request for the working one.

One difference from most reports here: the failing App ID is currently grouped under the working primary App ID (since 2026-09-30). It failed the same way before that, while it was a primary App ID.

@DTS Engineer could the registration for app.blacksands.southislandguide be checked? No client-side changes pending on our side.

Hello @Paris X Pinkney,

We're seeing the same Sign in with Apple issue with our app Fitnesta and wanted to add our case here.

Team ID: 89Q73MZFUD (BHEEMA NETWORK)
Bundle ID / Client ID: com.fitnesta.app
Build: 17 (development-signed)
Device: iPhone 14 Pro Max, iOS 27.0
Feedback Assistant: FB25156895
Developer Support case: 102993948886

The native Sign in with Apple sheet opens, Face ID succeeds, and then it shows "Sign-Up Not Completed". No authorization or identity token is returned, and nothing reaches our backend.

We captured the failure with AuthKit logging on October 11. Apple's server response was:

ec = "-24000";
em = "Invalid client.";
ptxid = "054f4730-7b92-4b0b-bd07-681037d4378a";

We also ran a control test using Notion on the exact same iPhone and Apple Account, just 19 seconds before reproducing the Fitnesta failure. Notion completed Sign in with Apple successfully (ec = 0), while Fitnesta received Invalid client.

Interestingly, AKSQLError -6003 appeared in both the successful Notion flow and our failed flow, so the actual server response seems to be the important difference.

We've verified that our App ID is configured as a primary App ID with Sign in with Apple enabled. The signed app and provisioning profile also contain the correct [Default] entitlement. Our developer membership was previously converted from an individual to an organization account, in case that's relevant.

We've already submitted Feedback Assistant report FB25156895 with an iOS sysdiagnose and opened Developer Support case 102993948886.

Happy to provide the sanitized AuthKit logs privately or retest the same build if needed.

Thanks!

We're running into the same issue. Feedback ID FB25177781

We are seeing the same issue. The sheet appears and Face ID succeeds, then the system shows "Sign Up Not Completed" (ASAuthorizationError 1001), with the same -6003 / SRP Code=2 / -7003 sequence in the akd logs.

It happens on TestFlight and development builds, for two testers on two devices with two different Apple IDs, and only with our app. Capability, entitlement, provisioning profile and Services ID are all verified.

Feedback: FB25209241. We would appreciate it if Apple could check our App ID as well.

Team SW8F94Y42Y (com.homyaid.app): still failing as of 2026-10-19, now about 4 weeks after FB24922696. The public authorize endpoint still returns invalid_client for our client ID. We also opened Developer Support case 103001479183. @Paris X Pinkney, could you please check whether FB24922696 is routed to the team doing the server-side registration repairs? Thank you.

@Paris X Pinkney — same signature for another team, also hit by App Review (2.1(a) rejection, Oct 21).

Team ID: M6HQZ4NFAY (Nyza Creations LLC) · App ID / client ID: ai.sikho.app (primary, APPLE_ID_AUTH = PRIMARY_APP_CONSENT) · Services ID: ai.sikho.web · Feedback: FB25205421

The native sheet renders, Face ID succeeds, then "Sign-Up Not Completed"; ASAuthorizationController returns 1001 and nothing reaches our backend. It is intermittent, which matches a server that lacks our registration: App Review's attempts on iOS/iPadOS 27.0 (2026-10-21 05:42–05:44 UTC) all failed, while other first-time sign-ups succeeded (Oct 12–20) and our own iPhone signed in three times today, including a fresh authorization after Stop Using (2026-10-22 18:31:53 UTC).

The public authorize endpoint shows the split every time: at 2026-10-22 18:25 UTC, 17.157.64.68 returned "Invalid client." for ai.sikho.app and "No AppPlatform or Primary app for the web application" for ai.sikho.web (3/3 each), while 17.111.105.242, 17.23.96.16, 17.32.194.37 and 17.32.194.6 recognized both. Our other App IDs (e.g. ai.fashy.app) are recognized on all five, including 17.157.64.68. Same result daily since Oct 10.

Verified: applesignin = ["Default"] and application-identifier M6HQZ4NFAY.ai.sikho.app in the signed binary and its ACTIVE App Store profile. An unchanged re-save on Oct 12 made no difference.

Could the same server-side registration repair applied to the teams above be applied to ai.sikho.app and ai.sikho.web? We can re-test immediately and will close the Feedback once it works.

Same signature, another affected team — requesting the same server-side registration fix.

Team ID: AH45YS4A5U · Bundle ID: com.base69bbdc94fe541ed5dcb26796.app (explicit primary App ID, Sign in with Apple enabled Oct 2026 with primary app consent, no grouping, no wildcard App IDs, no extensions)
Feedback Assistant: FB25271510 (filed 21 Oct 2026, two AuthKit log archives attached)
App: Futbito, live on the App Store; failing build: TestFlight 3.1 (19) on a physical iPhone.

The native sheet renders, Face ID completes, then "Sign Up Not Completed"; no credential reaches the app. akd shows exactly the signature in this thread (captured 20 and 21 Oct 2026, several attempts each):

akd [authkit:siwa] Client has default access level in SiwA entitlement
akd [authkit:siwa] Fetching developer team for client with ID: <private>

akd SRP authentication with server failed! Error Domain=com.apple.AppleIDAuthSupport Code=2 (AKAuthenticationServerError -24000)
akd Authorization failed: Error Domain=AKAuthenticationError Code=-7003

The HTTP exchange returns 200 with a 1141-byte response, the same size reported above. Control: the same Apple Account completes a first-time Sign in with Apple sign-up in another team's App Store app on the same device during the failure window, and the same akd process completes other GSA exchanges successfully. Capability verified in the portal, entitlement read from the signed binary by akd, agreements active.

@Paris X Pinkney — could the server-side Sign in with Apple registration for AH45YS4A5U / com.base69bbdc94fe541ed5dcb26796.app be repaired as for the teams above? Happy to verify immediately.
