"Waiting for review" for 10 days. No progress. Zero support.

We have an app that is updated regularly, and our submissions are typically reviewed within a few hours to one day.

We recently submitted an urgent bug fix for a production issue affecting our customers. However, this submission has been stuck in "Waiting for Review" for the past 10 days without any updates.

We've opened multiple support tickets, but they've led nowhere. Phone support has also been ineffective, with scheduled callbacks resulting in hours on hold without any progress.

What is the appropriate escalation path for a submission that appears to be stalled in the review queue?

we are also stuck for over a week

Same here

same here. waiting for over 10 days

I've been waiting for app store approval for over a month???

same here. 110 hours passed

I wonder why App Review only replies to a few posts.

Thank you for your post. We have escalated your support case to Developer Support. The App Review team will contact you in App Store Connect once the review is complete.

And other posts were ignored. As developers, we should look for a pattern. Is it the time of the post? The post title? The style?

Anyway, while I’m waiting for my app to be approved, I have a lot of time. I’ll study that. :)

Same pattern here, with one difference that may be worth adding: mine was reviewed, then stalled.

My app was rejected July 16 under Guideline 2.1 (Information Needed) with four questions. I answered all four in the Resolution Center the same day. It has now been 18 days with no response and no status change. So a reply sitting in an open thread appears to stall the same way a fresh submission does.

On the escalation path question, here is what I have tried and what each produced:

  • App Review contact form: two replies from Developer Support, both restating the rejection and telling me to reply in the Resolution Center, which I had already done. No status information.
  • Phone: reached Developer Support twice. Both times they sent a note to the App Review team. The second rep said plainly there is nothing further they can do, and that they cannot see queue position at all.
  • Phone, a third attempt: 2.5 hours on hold, never connected.
  • Resolution Center: replied July 16, followed up July 22, and on July 30 requested a call with an Apple representative. That option is documented in Apple's own "Tips for an efficient app review" post (developer.apple.com/forums/thread/837575) - there is no button for it, you simply ask in a reply. No response to any of them.

So the honest answer to "what is the appropriate escalation path" appears to be that the paths exist, they are reachable, and none of them move the queue.

Been "waiting for review" for several days, and support emails did not yet get a response.

There is likely a staffing issue, or some other undisclosed problem with the review queue.

I find it disconcerting that all of the language when signing up and submitting your first app is encouraging and states 90% of apps are reviewed in 48 hours.

That clearly isn't true, and if something is preventing ours from being reviewed in a timely manner, we should at least be notified about it.

Thank you all for your post. We're investigating this issue and the App Review team will contact you in App Store Connect to provide further assistance. If you have developer rejected your app we recommend resubmitting.
