App Review Delay - Upcoming Competition Deadline

Hi,

I'm hoping someone from Apple can help with the review of my app.

My initial submission spent around 7 days in "Waiting for review," so I resubmitted it with changes immediately. The resubmission has now been waiting for another 2 days.

This app is part of my submission to an ongoing competition, so release timing is important and I'm approaching a deadline. I would really appreciate it if someone could help get the app reviewed as soon as possible.

I completely understand that review times can vary, but given the initial 7 day wait and the upcoming deadline, I wanted to reach out and see if there is anything that can be done.

Your deadlines don't apply to Apple. When you resubmit, you go back to the end of the queue.

Apple says most submissions are reviewed within 48 hours. Many people on this forum complain about delays lasting weeks. So obviously, the many people who are getting their apps reviewed in a few hours aren't complaining.

Generally speaking, deadlines aren't compatible with the App Store. There is an option to manually release your app on your own schedule after it's approved. But you'll need to submit your app well in advance of that deadline.

10 minutes after submitting it, I got a notification that a reviewer logged into the demo Google account that I provided. Someone must have looked at it but didn't do anything.

That might have been an automated check. Speaking from experience it's faster to sit tight on the same submission rather than re-submitting. Sorry to hear you're facing a deadline. If App Review were hitting their stated targets we could all plan ahead more easily. For reference we just got approved today after a month of waiting.
