We submitted a request to update our organization's name on our Apple Developer Program account in June, and we are still waiting. It is a simple name change. The company, D-U-N-S number and account holder are all the same, and the D-U-N-S record has already been updated.
We made the exact same change with Google Play Console, and it was done in 48 hours.
We have contacted Developer Support several times, but the only answer we get is that the request is "being reviewed," with no timeline.
This has become a serious problem for us. While the change is pending, we are unable to release updates. Our current app version has a crash that we have already fixed, but we cannot ship the fix. Our users are experiencing crashes every day, and we are losing customers because of it.
We understand Apple needs to verify legal entity changes, but waiting from June until now for a name update, while our app is broken in the store, is not sustainable.
Has anyone been through this recently? How long did your name change take, and did you find a way to escalate it? If someone from Apple sees this, we would really appreciate help getting this resolved as soon as possible.
