My Android App Is Now Live on Google Play While iOS Remains in Apple's Expedited Review Queue

I wanted to share an update on my experience launching GoldEngine AI across Apple and Google.

I first submitted my iOS application on October 3, 2026. Following Apple's review feedback and subsequent resubmissions, the latest submission entered "Waiting for Review" on October 14.

On October 16, Apple Developer Support confirmed that my application had not been forgotten and was already in the expedited review queue.

Apple also confirmed that no further action was required and that I would receive an email once the review was completed.

Meanwhile, GoldEngine AI has successfully launched on the Google Play Store.

The Android application is now in production and has already recorded:

  • 108 device acquisitions.
  • 92 devices in its installed audience as of October 16.
  • Users across India, Japan and the United Kingdom.

It's an interesting contrast for an independent developer launching the same product across two major mobile platforms.

While Android users are already discovering and installing the application, the iOS version remains unavailable pending Apple's approval.

I fully respect Apple's high review standards and understand that applications must meet its guidelines. However, this experience shows how different review timelines can affect small developers trying to coordinate launches across platforms.

I've spent considerable time developing this multilingual application, and I intended to make it available to both Android and iPhone users at roughly the same time.

For now, Google Play is live, users are arriving, and I'm still waiting for Apple's expedited review process to conclude.

Hopefully my next update will be that GoldEngine AI is finally available on both platforms.

Now 189 Installs on Google Play Store… Waiting for release on the Apple Play Store…

Yes, whatever is going on with Apple's app review is quite devastating for a lot of us long time Apple devs.

Hey, thanks for sharing this. We're in almost the same situation with our first iOS app, StoneEcho. It's already live on Google Play, but Apple has kept our iOS submission in Waiting for Review since Oct 12, after an earlier Guideline 2.1 request.

We contacted Apple Developer Support on Oct 14 but still haven't heard anything back.

Can I ask how you managed to get a response from Apple on Oct 16? Did you use the App Review Status contact form, reply through App Store Connect, or contact them another way? And how long did it take them to reply?

Also, did you specifically request expedited review, or did Apple put your app in that queue themselves?

Would really appreciate any details. Thanks!

Hi StoneEcho, the only response I've received from Apple was to confirm that I don't need to press the expedited review button again once my app is in that queue.

They explained that any subsequent resubmissions automatically stay in the expedited review queue, so I don't need to request it again.

I originally requested expedited review myself, but unfortunately, I haven't received any meaningful update on when the review will actually take place.

Like you, my Android app is already live on Google Play, but I'm still waiting on Apple.

HI jln19, we have to wait it out.

Update — 19 October 2026

A further update on GoldEngine AI's launch across Google Play and Apple's App Store.

Since my original post, Google Play has continued to show encouraging growth:

  • 259 device acquisitions, up from 108 (+140%).
  • 177 reported installs in the latest production overview.
  • 96.2% install base reported by Google Play Console.

Meanwhile, the iOS version remains in Apple's expedited review queue, with the latest submission waiting for review since October 14.

It's now five days since that submission entered the queue, and three days since Apple confirmed on October 16 that the application was still in the expedited review process.

As an independent developer, it's encouraging to see Android users discovering GoldEngine AI, but frustrating that I still cannot offer the same application to iPhone users.

I appreciate the comments from other developers experiencing similar delays.

Hopefully, my next update will be to confirm that GoldEngine AI is available on both platforms.
