App Stuck in Waiting for Review for 21 Days – No Response from Support

Hello Apple Developer Community,

I am reaching out regarding an unusually long App Store review delay affecting our application, MatchMate: Sports Community.

Our first iOS release (version 1.0, build 45) was submitted on September 28, 2026, and as of October 19, it has remained in "Waiting for Review" for 21 days, without any progress or explanation.

Apple states that 90% of submissions are reviewed within 48 hours. I understand that certain applications may require additional time, but three weeks without any update is extremely concerning.

I have already contacted Apple Developer Support to request clarification, but unfortunately, I have not received a response.

As an independent developer and co-founder of MatchMate, I have invested significant time and resources into building this application. The delay is directly affecting our planned launch and marketing activities.

I would greatly appreciate guidance on the following:

  1. Is a 21-day wait normal for a first-time App Store submission?
  2. Could this indicate that our submission is stuck in the review queue?
  3. Is there an appropriate way to escalate this issue to the App Review team without cancelling and resubmitting the application?

If an Apple representative could look into this situation or advise on the appropriate next steps, I would be extremely grateful.

Thank you for your time and assistance.

Our customer, Yes It's Famous App (Apple ID: com.yesitsfamous.sweetgumai), is a a brand-new App that has been stuck in "Waiting for Review" for 21 days with no status change. We submitted updates for existing apps, and they were approved.

We've never had an App stuck for this long. We also submitted to Expedited App Review. We deleted the App and resubmitted it 6 days ago. No movement.

Please advise.

Our app was stuck since October 8th, but it finally got approved yesterday!

While checking App Store Connect, I noticed phone support was available and immediately requested a callback. It took literally 2 hours, but I was determined to wait, even if it took 10.

The support representative was incredibly helpful and understanding. She assured me that if my status didn't change within 24–48 hours, I could email her directly.

Before we even ended the call, my status changed to "In Review." Just 2 hours later, I received the approval email!

My advice: Keep checking for phone support availability and request a callback when you see it. Most importantly, be respectful. I expressed my frustration, but never yelled or disrespected anyone. The representative even mentioned I was the only person who hadn't yelled at her.

Be professional, explain your concerns, and appreciate the people trying to help. Sometimes, a respectful conversation goes a long way!

That's my experience. Don't lose hope!

Same here, waiting since September.

Apple Support is not responding and nothing is happening without any change.

One time the status changed to "In Review" but was stuck there forever.
