Waiting for Review Megathread

Hi all,
It seems like there are a ton of us stuck in a "Waiting for Review" traffic jam, with Apple providing essentially no information on their end. Immensely frustrating.

Given that, would people be up for posting their time submitted and (once they receive a review) editing to include the time it took? It would be good to get a sense of how long everyone is waiting.

I'll go first:

Submitted: October 8
Status: Waiting for review

I'll update this post when I hear back.

Hi everyone,

Adding my experience to the growing list of developers stuck in the review queue.
App: Neatrip (iOS 1.0.0)
Account: Verified Apple Developer Organisation account
Submission: First app

Timeline:
21 October: Initial review returned under Guideline 2.1, requesting additional information due to limited App Review history.
21 October: Provided a comprehensive explanation, test credentials and a 6-minute functional demonstration recorded on a physical iPhone.
21 October: Resubmitted the application bdcause the first was failed just for further info requested
28 October: Submitted a formal expedited review request.
30 October: Still showing "Waiting for Review", with no further communication.

All developer agreements, organisational verification requirements and requested review information have been completed.

The Android version was reviewed and approved by Google Play within approximately 48 hours.

My concern isn't that Apple is taking longer to assess the application. It's that the submission has now spent nine days waiting for an active review to begin, despite the additional information being supplied immediately.

I appreciate that increased submission volumes may be creating a backlog, but the lack of transparency makes planning a launch extremely difficult.

If anyone from Apple App Review is monitoring this discussion, could you please clarify whether new applications are currently experiencing an extended backlog, whether first-time organisation accounts are subject to additional queuing, and whether expedited review requests are being processed?

Even an indication of current waiting times would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Emailed them about this but no response

Adding ours to the list in case it helps the App Review team track it down:

App: Formula Finder (Apple ID 6759680591)
Version: 1.0.2
In Waiting for Review since: October 27
Expedite requested, and followed up through Contact Us on October 29 (Case 103011747485), no response to either yet.

Our subscriptions were all reviewed and approved during this time, but the app version itself hasn't moved. If there's anything missing or anything you need from us, we're happy to provide it right away. Thank you!

Oh, this is discouraging. My first app was submitted Oct 27 and I foolishly assumed it would be 24 - 48 hours.

It is a 100% free, local utility camera app. It operates entirely offline. No data or media leaves the device, and there are absolutely no user logins, accounts, ads, tracking, or in-app purchases required.

Ran the subbittal process thoth Claude to make sure I clicked al lthe right boxes before i hit submit.

WIll update if anything changes. Hopefully my next post won't start with Happy New Year!

My app update was rejected and I immediately fixed the issuse. It's been waiting for review for a week now, meanwhile two other apps I developed were updated for Duo and submitted today and both were approved within six hours.

It truly makes no sense!

What can I do to get my other app moving? Thats the priority app for me and sitting in limbo is frustrsting.

My app was rejected for 2.1 information needed. Answered Apples review questions, uploaded couple of videos of the usage of the app on a real device. Resubmitted on the 26th of October, app review status changed to "Waiting for Review" ever since.

Submitted:24th Oct
Rejected: 26th Oct

Waiting for review: 26th Oct

Has anyone used "Expedite App Review"?

Initially submitted on october 1st
Rejected on oct 17th
Fixed and re-submitted on oct 18th

Adding our timeline to this thread and a question about the recent agreement update.

App: BK Tools: Offline Toolkit (Apple ID 6823224112), iOS 1.0 / build 10. First app on an individual developer account.

  • October 16: supplied the requested Guideline 2.1 information and a demonstration recorded on a physical iPhone; included the information and video in App Review Information. Submitted the current version at 10:10 AM Europe/Istanbul.
  • November 1: still Waiting for Review, 16 days later, with no additional action request visible on the current submission.
  • We have contacted App Review Status support and Developer Support; acknowledgements received, but no substantive response so far. I can provide the case and submission IDs privately through an official Apple support channel.
  • The updated Developer Program License Agreement issued October 29 is now shown as accepted on November 1. After refreshing, the agreement warning disappeared. Business shows the Free Apps Agreement and DSA compliance as Active. The app is free and has no in-app purchases.

The agreement update cannot explain the entire wait since October 16, but I want to rule out a remaining account/submission block. For anyone who accepted the October 29 agreement while already Waiting for Review: did the existing submission resume automatically, or did Developer Support need to intervene?

If App Review staff are following this thread, could you help confirm that our existing submission is correctly queued and whether any further action is needed? We have kept the same submitted build and have not cancelled/resubmitted merely to restart the queue.

Thank you.
