We are integrating iOS 16 recurring payments in our app, everything works fine but we have a few questions
Question 1
let recurringPaymentRequest = PKRecurringPaymentRequest(
paymentDescription: "Pro Membership",
regularBilling: regularBilling,
managementURL: url
)
we assume managementURL is supposed to come in the user's wallet where he/she can tap to change the recurring payment option to our backend, but in the wallet, the transaction appears without this URL and have no indication that it is a recurring payment, Can someone guide what we missed
Question 2
For apps that only have apple pay on mobile, managementURL can open the app as a deep link from the Wallet app and the user can update or delete the payment method for the automatic reload payment from the app directly,
Question 3
For cancellation, the recurring payment app should have some UI where the user can tap which hit our backend and remove the apple pay merchant token from our system and apply cancellation business logic, no apple API involves in the cancellation of recurring payment
We have an app and we want to add tap to pay for Apple Pay. We'd also like to become a certified Payment Service Provider. What is the process to become a certified PSP?

Hi, I purchased an account for the app's developer on 18/12/2024. But somehow, it appears that the processing takes 48 hours after the purchase. I received an email about the order. The Apple developer membership account shows, “To continue your enrolment, complete the purchase now.” When I click and fill it out, I wonder if it's the same command.
However, I already filled out all the details of the payment twice on 21/11/2024, but I haven't received a response from the teams. Could you please help me with this matter? TQVM for your concerns.

Hello,
I am experiencing an issue with the Apple Pay capability on my App ID.
I have created a Merchant ID.
I enabled Apple Pay in the App ID configuration and linked it to the merchant.
However, sometimes when I revisit the App ID in the Apple Developer portal, the Apple Pay capability appears disabled, even though I saved it.
This happens intermittently; at some times the capability is correctly shown as enabled, and other times it disappears.
Context:
I am using Expo Managed Workflow with EAS Build for iOS.
The issue prevents the provisioning profile from including Apple Pay, which causes Stripe isPlatformPaySupported function to return false on ios devices.
Attached:
Screenshots of the App ID page showing Apple Pay enabled and disabled.
Could you please advise why the capability is not being consistently saved, and how to ensure it stays enabled?
Thank you,
Hi All,
We operate a store with a single domain but multiple merchants, some of whom use PayPal as their payment gateway, while others use Stripe. We are looking to introduce Apple Pay for the various merchants. From what I understand, a .well-known file is required for each merchant to enable Apple Pay. How can we implement this, given that our merchants are using different payment gateways?
Best regards,
Joe
Hello I'm getting an error when the Apple Pay sheet opens on a third party browser like Chrome when completeShippingMethodSelection is called
'DataCloneError: Failed to execute 'postMessage' on 'Window': #<Object> could not be cloned.'
I'm also seeing this warning when the apple pay sheet opens
Failed to execute 'postMessage' on 'DOMWindow': The target origin provided ('https://applepay.cdn-apple.com') does not match the recipient window's origin
although I also see this warning on https://applepaydemo.apple.com/
Hello,
we have problem.
Kind regards,

I have apple pay on the web running ok on our website, using ios devices
When I load the cart in a browser and try using the 'scan now qr code', my pay sheet displays on my iphone and then immediately closes. How can I debug the issue? I'm not seeing any logging or issues.
My account has reached it's 99 merchant ID limit and I have applied and got approval for using the API that allows me to exceed the limit.
I was testing the API according to the documentation in Postman, but I am getting the following error:
POST https : //apple- pay-gateway.apple.com/paymentservices/registerMerchant
Error: read ECONNRESET
Please find below the cURL we are using according to the docs:
curl --location 'https://apple-pay-gateway.apple.com/paymentservices/registerMerchant'
--header 'Content-Type: application/json'
--data '{
"domainNames": "https://checkout.montypay.com",
"encryptTo": "merchant.test.montypay",
"partnerInternalMerchantIdentifier": "merchant.test.montypay",
"partnerMerchantName": "Test"
}'
Please note that I tried the Live and the sandbox endpoints and both gave the same error.
Hi support,
Since June 26th 2025 we are experiencing an issue with the ApplePay SSL server certificate installed on our servers in Production environment.
We are facing an exception error during the initializing of a payment session while calling the url:
https://apple-pay-gateway.apple.com/paymentservices/startSession
The exception is Untrusted Server Certificate Chain:
javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: java.security.cert.CertificateException: Untrusted Server Certificate Chain
at sun.security.ssl.Alerts.getSSLException(Alerts.java:192)
at sun.security.ssl.SSLSocketImpl.fatal(SSLSocketImpl.java:1915)

It seems that the issue occurs randomly: we are experiencing this exception on most of our payment transactions, but there are some cases of users that have correctly paid on our site using this method and in those cases this error did not appear.
We installed the new certificate on our servers on July 3rd 2025 and renewed on Aug 7th 2025.
The new certificate validity is:
Not Before: Aug 6 18:43:52 2025 GMT
Not After : Nov 4 18:08:57 2025 GMT
I must specify that this issue is blocking the correct placement of AppleyPay orders of our customers.
Can you please help us find the problem and a possible solution?

Hi team,
We were wondering what's the correct way of configuring a test environment with Apple Pay.
Not sure if this is explicitly mentioned in the documentation, but in order to avoid having the same certificates shared between test and production, should we have a different merchant identifier (and pair of certificates) for test purposes only?
The above is the main question. However, two follow up questions:
Do you know if payment processors usually allow the merchant ID to be configured, so that only payments generated with the prod certificates can be accepted?
Is there any risk of someone getting hold of the certificates generated for the test environment (which are usually less safe than production) and using that to process payments in production?

Tap to Pay on iPhone
I’m restructuring my business and want to remove Apple Pay. I use Woocommerce Square for payments. Do I do it in the Square dashboard or here? I honestly can’t remember how I set it up. I’m not a developer. I’m a farmer and work on my own website. Thanks!
I've completed the setup required for in-app push provisioning on the iOS platform.
Encountering an issue at the completion handler step while sending data back to the PassKit framework.
The delegate method used is:
func addPaymentPassViewController(completionHandler handler: @escaping (PKAddPaymentPassRequest) -> Void)
The error observed is:
Error Domain=PKPassKitErrorDomainCode=2 which is PKUnsupportedVersionError
The device used for testing is running iOS version 17.4.1.

The details provided in this documentation do not seem have instructions on configuring authentication for the user webhook. I plan on using oauth with the webhook, but I do not know where to provide the relevant issuer and client id/secret to the merchant token management service.
'Company A' is scheduled to merge with its parent company, 'Company B'. Both A and B have Apple accounts.
A's account has one domain registered for Apple Pay integration, while Account B has no domain registered.
We attempted to register A’s domain under B’s account.
However, the notification 'Requested domain name has been verified previously.' appeared, and we could not complete the registration.
Please confirm whether it is correct that a domain already registered under Account A cannot be registered again under Account B.
If we cannot register same domain in two accounts, we believe that the domain registered under A's account must be deleted first and then registered under B's account.
In that case, will payments become unavailable immediately upon deletion of the domain, or will payments still be possible for a certain period of time after deletion?
In our testing, we found that payments were not blocked immediately, but we would like to confirm further.
We are concerned about the possibility of transaction failures during the short period between deleting the domain from A's Account and registering it under B's Account.

PLATFORM AND VERSION
iOS
Development environment: Xcode Version 16.2 (16C5032a), macOS 14.6.1
Run-time configuration: iOS 26
DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM
We would like to seek clarification on how to determine whether a card used via Apple Pay is a credit or debit card before sending the transaction request.
Currently, we can retrieve the card type information (credit/debit) from the Apple Pay response payload, but this is only available after the payment has been processed.
However, we need to determine the card type in advance, as our system calculates and applies transaction fees based on the card type, which should be added to the total transaction amount before submission.
Could you please advise if there is any parameter, API field, or pre-authorization mechanism available to identify the card type prior to initiating the transaction request?
We would appreciate your guidance or any related documentation for implementing this.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
Initiate Apple pay
Payment from Apple pay
Getting payload
we can retrieve the card type information (credit/debit) from the Apple Pay response payload, but this is only available after the payment has been processed.
We need to identify if there's any way to know the card user selected(whether it is credit/debit) before processing the payment.
We are encountering an issue where Apple Pay shows an unexpected popup with a message and an "OK" button when confirming a payment (after double-tapping the power button). This issue began appearing last week without any changes to the codebase or configurations.
Steps to Reproduce:
Open the app and initiate an Apple Pay payment.
Add a valid card if not already present.
Confirm the payment using the side button (double-tap).
Instead of completing the transaction, a popup appears with a generic message and an "OK" button.
Expected Behavior:
Apple Pay should process the payment and provide a confirmation or error based on the transaction status.
Actual Behavior:
A popup appears with a generic title and an “OK” button. The transaction is not processed.
Environment Details:
Platform: iOS
Apple Pay integration has been functioning correctly for years
No recent updates to Apple Pay-related code or configuration
Configurations Checked:
App Identifier is correctly set with the bundle ID
Apple Pay Payment Processing is enabled in the App ID configuration
Correct Merchant ID is selected and matches in Xcode capabilities
*.entitlements file contains correct Apple Pay entitlement
Payment Processing Certificates are valid and in place
Additional Notes:
The issue appeared suddenly without any modifications to the app. We suspect it may be due to external changes (e.g., Apple system update or merchant validation issue).
Please advise on any further steps we can take to diagnose or resolve this issue.

Hi guys,
We are trying to implement a solution that would allow users to subscribe to other users in our app. The system should work the same way as Twitch's subscription model works. Users should be able to subscribe to anyone and each subscription should have different tiers.
From what we were able to gather, users cannot have multiples of the same subscription on applestoreconnect. Meaning that we would probably need to make a custom subscription per every user? Here we have also learned that there is a limit of 10 000 types of subscriptions and that it is not possible to dynamically create/delete them for users. (correct me if I am wrong)
Is there a solution for handling this type of a scenario?
Appreciate all answers.
