ScreenTime: Block the Messages, Phone, Camera apps
I want to limit my child's phone usage at night by allowing them to scan a QR code to enforce app limitations via ScreenTime. When they scan the QR code, I'm still unable to prevent them from accessing the Phone, Messages, and Camera app via ScreenTime. Is there a way I can block or heavily restrict their access to these three apps via ScreenTime? How do I prevent my child from undoing or evading the ScreenTime enforcement I'm trying to enforce?

Question About CarPlay Certification When Using Custom Wiring Harness
Hello developers, My question isn't directly related to app or software development, but this seems to be the most appropriate channel to possibly find the information I need. iOS 26: iPhone will not power on stuck on battery screen
I set iOS 26 to install overnight, put my iPhone 16 Pro on the MagSafe charger, watched it charge just fine, and went to sleep. When I woke up the iPhone showed the “plug into power” dead battery screen. I took it off MagSafe and put it back on. A half hour later the phone was warm but still wouldn’t power on, just showed the battery screen with a little red in it. I took it off MagSafe and plugged it into my iPad charging brick with USB cable to give it more power, still it did not turn on. I tried holding all the buttons to try to force a restart but didn’t work. For anyone else encountering this, do this to enter DFU mode and restore it. I had to do it a few times before I got the timing right. Plug into your Mac and open Finder (or apparently a PC with Apple Devices or iTunes) Press and quickly release volume up Press and quickly release volume down Press and hold right side button When the battery disappears and screen goes black, hold volume down and continue holding side button After a couple seconds release the side button and continue holding volume down A prompt to allow connecting to the iPhone should appear after a couple seconds, click Allow, and it’ll say the iPhone entered DFU mode - proceed to restore the firmware

CoreData error: SQLCore dispatchRequest: no such table: ZAPPSETTINGS. I/O error opening
Issue with SwiftData: “no such table: ZAPPSETTINGS” and SQLite I/O error on app launch Hello, I’m encountering persistent errors with SwiftData in my SwiftUI app related to Core Data’s underlying SQLite database. Despite defining my models correctly, the app fails to initialize the persistent store, throwing the following error on startup: CoreData error: SQLCore dispatchRequest: no such table: ZAPPSETTINGS. I/O error opening database at /.../default.store. SQLite error code:1, NSSQLiteErrorDomain=1. File “default.store” couldn’t be opened. Context The error only appears concerning my AppSettings model. I have another model, LocationPoint, which appears correctly defined and used. I have tried deleting the app, resetting the device, and cleaning builds but the error persists. The error message suggests the database file is present but the table for ZAPPSETTINGS (the Core Data table for AppSettings) does not exist. Code Samples Main App Entry import SwiftData import SwiftUI @main struct Krow3_0App: App { @State private var userLocationManager = UserLocationManager() @State private var geocodingViewModel = GeocodingViewModel() @State private var locationSearchViewModel = LocationSearchViewModel() @State private var router = Router() var body: some Scene { WindowGroup { LaunchView() .environment(userLocationManager) .environment(geocodingViewModel) .environment(locationSearchViewModel) .environment(router) .modelContainer(for: [LocationPoint.self, AppSettings.self]) } } } AppSettings Model import Foundation import SwiftData @Model class AppSettings { var isMetric: Bool init(isMetric: Bool = false) { self.isMetric = isMetric } } What I’ve Tried Fully uninstalling and reinstalling the app on device and simulator. Resetting the simulator/device. Cleaning the Xcode build folder. Verifying the schema logs which correctly list both LocationPoint and AppSettings. Changing model names to avoid potential conflicts. Adding .modelContainer configuration with autosave enabled. Questions Is there a known bug or limitation with SwiftData concerning certain model setups or naming? Could this be related to how the data container initializes or migrates schemas? Are there recommended debugging or migration steps to resolve “no such table” SQLite errors with SwiftData? How can I safely reset or migrate the persistent store without corrupting the database? Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

iOS 26 : iPhone 16 Pro not charging via USB-C
Hello, I installed iOS 26 beta 1 yesterday when it came off but now, when I plug my iPhone, it just do nothing. I can charge it via the induction charger but I can't via USB-C port. The other way I can charge it is by turning my iPhone off and plugging it so it starts and then it charges via USB-C Port even when it starts. The thing is that when I unplug the cable and try to plug it back in, it doesn't charge anymore... I tried to put the restore mode (with the Mac and the cable on the screen) and even the DFU Mode but the iPhone is not detected by my Macbook and it's the same thing for my Windows PC : not detected... I also tried to erase the settings and content but same issue... Not charging Apple Store can do nothing because it's a dev beta... Am I the only one to have that issue ?

Battery stuck at 1% after installing iOS 26 beta 2 – device only usable when plugged in, battery capacity shows 0%
After installing iOS 26 Developer Beta on my iPhone 13 mini, I encountered a critical battery issue. The battery percentage was stuck at 1%, and the phone could only be used while continuously plugged in. Despite the low reading, the device remained fully functional — I could use apps, navigate, and perform tasks normally. However, the battery indicator never rose above 1%, and the Battery Health section in Settings showed 0% Maximum Capacity, which is inaccurate. I did not allow the phone to fully discharge, out of fear that it might not turn back on. Restarting the phone and changing cables or chargers had no effect. After restoring the device to iOS 18.7.2 using DFU mode, the issue disappeared entirely — the battery percentage behaved normally again and the health section showed the correct value (about 100%). Observed behavior: • Battery percentage frozen at 1% • Maximum Capacity reported as 0% • Device only functional while connected to power • Issue resolved immediately after restoring to iOS 18 Temporary solution: A DFU restore to iOS 18 (18.5 22F76) immediately resolved the issue. The battery percentage and health readings returned to normal. Additional information: • Charger used: Official Apple 20W USB-C charger • Cable used: Apple USB-C to Lightning cable • Battery health after restore: 100% (replaced)

Question regarding ethernet over USB-C
Hello, I have a question regarding the ethernet-over-USB-C stack within iOS/iPadOS. It seems that when manually assigning an IP on this interface within iOS, the IP is stored. Therefore, when disconnecting (the USB-C cable) and reconnecting to another device for a subsequent ethernet connection, the iOS device will always default to the previously assigned IP address (obviously, this isn't the case if the other end is a DHCP server). So, within the iPhone's Ethernet-over-USB-C driver, I was curious if iOS just keeps the assignment based on the MAC of the local USB-C interface, or is stored information tied to some other identifier? Is there a way to override this behavior? Thank you

MacBook Air (M2, 2023) Randomly Freezes After Sleep – Black Screen with Cursor Only
Since a recent macOS update (around one month ago), I’ve been experiencing a random issue on my MacBook Air (2023, M2). After the device enters sleep mode and I try to wake it, sometimes the screen stays black with only the cursor visible. The issue occurs randomly — not every time — but frequently enough to impact daily use. The system becomes completely unresponsive, and the only recovery method is a forced restart (holding the power button). Steps to Reproduce: 1. Leave the MacBook idle until it enters sleep automatically. 2. Wait for 10–30+ minutes. 3. Attempt to wake it using the keyboard, trackpad, or by opening the lid. 4. Randomly, the system fails to wake properly: screen turns on, shows a black background with a movable cursor, but nothing else appears. Expected Result: The system wakes normally and restores to the previous desktop session. Actual Result: The system randomly freezes on a black screen with a visible cursor. No user interface or login prompt appears. Requires a hard restart. System Information: • Device: MacBook Air 13”, M2, 2023 • macOS Version: [Insert exact version, e.g., macOS Sonoma 14.5] • Issue Since: Around one month ago (possibly after latest macOS update) • Peripherals: [Mention any external devices if applicable] • Reproducibility: Random (approximately 30–50% of the time after longer sleep) Additional Notes: • Issue is not consistent; sometimes the system wakes as expected. • Occurs regardless of whether on battery or plugged in. • No external monitors or USB accessories are connected when this happens.

tvOS 26 issue: Please bring back passcode-locked apps — disappearing apps and shared restrictions make Apple TV frustrating for families
I recently updated to tvOS 26 on my Apple TV 4K (1st generation) and was disappointed to find that apps I restrict no longer appear at all. In earlier versions, restricted apps would still be visible and simply prompt for a passcode — this was much more convenient for adults in the household. Now, if I restrict apps for my children, they disappear completely. To use them again, I have to go deep into settings, turn restrictions off, and even recreate the passcode each time, which is frustrating and impractical for daily use. I also tried adding a Kids user account, but most restrictions still apply system-wide. Only the Apple TV app behaves differently between users. This makes switching between parent and child accounts nearly pointless for managing access. Please consider one or both of the following: 1. Bring back the passcode-on-launch behavior for restricted apps (instead of hiding them). 2. Give each user their own isolated settings environment, like how profiles work on iOS/iPadOS or even a fresh Apple TV—this way, restrictions, home screen, and app access could be personalized. Families are a huge part of the Apple TV audience, and these recent changes have made it much harder to use the device in a shared household. Thank you!

Payment completed with error: Error Domain=ASDErrorDomain Code=500
I would like to inquire about an error that has started occurring while debugging AppStore billing. (In sandbox environment) This error occurs after entering a password and completing the purchase process, and in this case, no completion alert appears. The error doesn't seem to depend on the purchase item, sandbox account, or device, and shows unstable behavior - sometimes succeeding and sometimes failing. Additionally, this error started occurring after special debugging where the network was disconnected during the purchase process. Moreover, the same error occurs in the TestFlight version of our already released normal (supposedly) version. I think this might be a sandbox-specific error where the system has temporarily become unstable, but what do you think? If so, how can I resolve this issue? I would appreciate your insights on the cause and appropriate response. Error details below: <SKPaymentQueue: 0x283b3d070>: Payment completed with error: Error Domain=ASDErrorDomain Code=500 "(null)" UserInfo={NSUnderlyingError=0x28364d770 {Error Domain=AMSErrorDomain Code=305 "Purchase Failed" UserInfo={NSLocalizedDescription=Purchase Failed, AMSStatusCode=200, AMSServerPayload={ "cancel-purchase-batch" = 1; customerMessage = "Unauthorized_message"; failureType = ""; "m-allowed" = 0; pings = ( ); }, NSLocalizedFailureReason=Server canceled the purchase}}, storefront-country-code=JPN, client-environment-type=Sandbox}

Unexpected high mobile data usage when travelling in Europe using an ESIM on iPhone 16 Pro Max
The iPhone mobile data usage skyrocketed to use 1GB per day whereas I am normally a 5GB a month data user. the culprit was Apple System Services General there is currently no iPhone functionality to turn off System Services Genera. the solution was to block updates.cdn-apple.com using data sniffer called Proxyman. Tip hat to the person who posted “High mobile data usage on iOS 18 and how to solve it” on Reddit.com This is something apple developers maybe should look at

CGPDFDocument Rendering Issue with Custom Fonts in iOS 18
we’ve identified that our PDF rendering pipeline leverages the native CGPDFDocument APIs to convert PDF pages into images. However, in the latest release of iOS 18, the provided document fails to render even at the CGPDFDocument level. Our analysis suggests that the issue may stem from the embedded custom fonts not being correctly processed in this version of the iOS platform. This appears to be consistent with several other reports and discussions around font rendering problems introduced in iOS 18, particularly involving subset fonts. We’ve attached a collection of relevant community threads and references, including: Apple Developer Discussion: Subset Font Rendering Issue in iOS 18 Given that our implementation is tightly coupled with Apple’s native PDF rendering APIs, this issue presents a blocking limitation for us. With your permission, we would like to use this document as a sample case to formally report the issue through the appropriate Apple Developer forums and feedback channels.

I would like to inquire about an error that has started occurring while debugging AppStore billing. (In sandbox environment) This error occurs after entering a password and completing the purchase process, and in this case, no completion alert appears. The error doesn't seem to depend on the purchase item, sandbox account, or device, and shows unstable behavior - sometimes succeeding and sometimes failing. Additionally, this error started occurring after special debugging where the network was disconnected during the purchase process. Moreover, the same error occurs in the TestFlight version of our already released normal (supposedly) version. I think this might be a sandbox-specific error where the system has temporarily become unstable, but what do you think? If so, how can I resolve this issue? I would appreciate your insights on the cause and appropriate response. Error details below: <SKPaymentQueue: 0x283b3d070>: Payment completed with error: Error Domain=ASDErrorDomain Code=500 "(null)" UserInfo={NSUnderlyingError=0x28364d770 {Error Domain=AMSErrorDomain Code=305 "Purchase Failed" UserInfo={NSLocalizedDescription=Purchase Failed, AMSStatusCode=200, AMSServerPayload={ "cancel-purchase-batch" = 1; customerMessage = "Unauthorized_message"; failureType = ""; "m-allowed" = 0; pings = ( ); }, NSLocalizedFailureReason=Server canceled the purchase}}, storefront-country-code=JPN, client-environment-type=Sandbox}
