Xcode 26.1 ChatGPT very slow
ChatGPT in Xcode 26.1 is super slow for me, anyone else? The response returns quickly but the preview window takes a few seconds per line. What it used to do in a few seconds on 26.0 now takes tens of minutes. Anyone else running into this and have suggestions? I'm using the minimal setting on a fast internet connection. Xcode cloud time out issue
We are getting following error in xcode cloud "The step invocation hit a user timeout. The xcodebuild archive invocation timed out. No activity has been detected on stdout, stderr or the result bundle in 30 minutes" We are using following env to create a build. Xcode: 14.2 Macos: Ventura 13.2.1 We didn't face any issue in Ventura 13.2.0 and we are seeing this issue in our first build using ventura 13.2.1. The difference I see between successful and failure build, I don't see "Discovering Swift tasks after 'Compiling { list of swift file " in a failed build. I see compiling { list of swift file } and end of the compilation, the build is failing.

XCode problem
Right now, I am trying the tutorial for SwiftUI from the Apple Developer Program inside of Xcode, but I encountered a problem. Inside of the selectable canvas mode in Xcode, I wanted to command-control-click the element (in this case, a text) to bring up the editing popover and select "Show SwiftUI Inspector." For some reason, on the popover menu, the only option was "Embed." I only wanted the menu point Show SwiftUI Inspector, and I also tried the shortcut Ctrl+Option, but nothing worked. Now is there another method to get to this menu? Or can you help me with that? Noah

PhotosUI does not build with UIKit and WidgetKit in XCode26
To reproduce this bug create a new Xcode Project for IOS choose UIKit. In the app delegate add the following lines. As you can see in the above image . Line 19 with the initialization of PHPickerViewController has no compilation failure. Now lets add import WidgetKit As soon as widgetKit is imported a compiler error is thrown which is PHPickerViewController is not in scope. This worked with Xcode 16.4 It was possible to have a swift file with both WidgetKit implementations and PhotosUI implementations. This behavior has changed in Xcode 26/26.0.1 . Does anybody know why this happens , could not find any clues within the different versions of documentations. P.S Found a work around which raises further questions Adding import SwiftUI fixes this problem , I am genuinely curious on how this is happening on a compiler level. Custom font doesn't appear on Storyboard custom font list
Hi everyone, (you can answer in french) I’m french-rookie in xcode, and I have a problem: I’m trying to choice my custom font to add it in my Main.storyboard button, but it not works. I have my « Font provided by application » line in my Info.plist, with the name of my font in [0] (See images below) When I’m on storyboard button, I chose « custom » in font selector, then display font list but my custom font doesn’t appear. I already tried to install the font in my mac, but still stucked, nothing change 😭 Could you help me please? Thanks a lot (I specify that I scrupulously followed the way of doing explained on the Apple official page: Adding a Custom Font to Your App )

Xcode 26 doesn’t recognize ChatGPT Plus subscription and triggers free daily limit
Hi everyone, Since updating to Xcode 26, I’ve been running into an issue with the new ChatGPT integration inside Xcode. Even though I have an active ChatGPT Plus subscription (GPT-4 or GPT-5) and I’m signed in to my OpenAI account, Xcode doesn’t seem to recognize my paid plan. After reaching the free usage limit, I get the following message: “Over daily limit. ChatGPT in Xcode will be unavailable for up to 24 hours. For higher limits, sign in with a paid ChatGPT account or upgrade to ChatGPT Plus.” The issue is that I am already logged in with my ChatGPT Plus account, and everything works fine on the ChatGPT web app — but inside Xcode, it keeps treating me as a free user. Here’s what I’ve tried so far: • Signing out and back into ChatGPT from within Xcode • Restarting Xcode and macOS • Verifying that I’m logged in to ChatGPT in Safari • Updating both macOS and Xcode to the latest versions None of these steps have resolved the issue. It seems like Xcode isn’t syncing properly with OpenAI authentication, and therefore it applies the free-tier limits even for paid accounts. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Is there any way to force Xcode to reauthenticate with OpenAI or link it properly to a ChatGPT Plus account? System setup: • Mac mini (Apple M2, 16 GB RAM) • macOS Tahoe 26.0.1 • Xcode Version 26.0.1 (17A400) Here’s the error message I’m seeing:

Xcode 26.4: xcodebuild test crashes on iOS 15.2 Simulators before XCTest bootstrap due to ResultDataPublisher missing Foundation.URLRequest.httpMethod symbol
I’m seeing a crash when running XCTest on iOS 15.2 Simulators with Xcode 26.4. The test bundle never starts. xctest crashes before establishing the XCTest connection. This appears to be a regression from Xcode 26.2. The same test flow worked with Xcode 26.2, but crashes with Xcode 26.4. This does not appear to be caused by my app or package code. I can reproduce it with a minimal Swift Package that only imports Foundation and has one XCTest case using URLRequest.httpMethod. Environment: Xcode with failure: 26.4 Xcode that worked: 26.2 macOS: 26.2 Destinations tested: iPhone SE (2nd generation), iOS 15.2 Simulator iPad mini (6th generation), iOS 15.2 Simulator Test command: xcodebuild test Swift Package deployment target: iOS 15.2 Swift tools version: 6.1 Minimal reproduction package: Package.swift // swift-tools-version:6.1 import PackageDescription let package = Package( name: "FoundationOnlyRepro", platforms: [.iOS("15.2")], products: [ .library( name: "FoundationOnlyRepro", targets: ["FoundationOnlyRepro"] ) ], targets: [ .target(name: "FoundationOnlyRepro"), .testTarget( name: "FoundationOnlyReproTests", dependencies: ["FoundationOnlyRepro"] ) ], swiftLanguageModes: [.v6] ) Sources/FoundationOnlyRepro/FoundationOnlyRepro.swift import Foundation public struct FoundationOnlyRepro { public init() {} public func makeRequest() -> URLRequest { var request = URLRequest(url: URL(string: "https://example.invalid")!) request.httpMethod = "GET" return request } } Tests/FoundationOnlyReproTests/FoundationOnlyReproTests.swift import XCTest import Foundation @testable import FoundationOnlyRepro final class FoundationOnlyReproTests: XCTestCase { func testURLRequestHTTPMethod() { let request = FoundationOnlyRepro().makeRequest() XCTAssertEqual(request.httpMethod, "GET") } } Command used: xcodebuild test \ -scheme FoundationOnlyRepro \ -destination 'platform=iOS Simulator, name=iPhone SE (2nd generation),OS=15.2' \ -derivedDataPath /tmp/rdp-dd \ -quiet The same kind of crash also occurs when using an iPad mini (6th generation) iOS 15.2 Simulator destination. Result: Testing failed: xctest (...) encountered an error (Early unexpected exit, operation never finished bootstrapping - no restart will be attempted. (Underlying Error: Test crashed with signal abrt before establishing connection.)) ** TEST FAILED ** The diagnostic stderr shows: dyld[28688]: Symbol not found: _$s10Foundation10URLRequestV10httpMethodSSSgvs Referenced from: /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/Library/PrivateFrameworks/ResultDataPublisher.framework/ ResultDataPublisher Expected in: /Library/Developer/CoreSimulator/Profiles/Runtimes/iOS 15.2.simruntime/Contents/Resources/RuntimeRoot/System/Library/Frameworks/Foundation.framework/Foundation Demangling the missing symbol: xcrun swift-demangle '_$s10Foundation10URLRequestV10httpMethodSSSgvs' Output: Foundation.URLRequest.httpMethod.setter : Swift.String? I also checked the iOS 15.2 simulator runtime. The symbol appears to exist in: /Library/Developer/CoreSimulator/Profiles/Runtimes/iOS 15.2.simruntime/Contents/Resources/RuntimeRoot/usr/lib/swift/libswiftFoundation.dylib but ResultDataPublisher.framework appears to be resolving it from: .../System/Library/Frameworks/Foundation.framework/Foundation This suggests the crash is in Xcode’s XCTest/result publishing infrastructure, not in the app/test bundle. Questions: Is Xcode 26.4 + iOS 15.2 Simulator + xcodebuild test expected to be supported? Is there a supported workaround to disable or avoid ResultDataPublisher.framework for command-line XCTest runs?

As soon as I run the app in debug the breakpoints are disabled
After updating my system to macOS Tahoe 26.1 and Xcode 26.1, all breakpoints in my project fail to work. When I run the application in Debug mode, any enabled breakpoint (blue) immediately becomes disabled (grayed out) the moment the app launches. The application runs, but the debugger never stops. This issue occurs in any location, including in the application's init() method, which should always be hit. This behavior suggests that the LLDB debugger is failing to attach to the process at launch or is being instructed not to enable breakpoints. System Configuration: Mac Model: MacBook Pro 14" (2021), Apple M1 Pro macOS Version: Tahoe 26.1 Xcode Version: 26.1 Project Type: SwiftUI App for macOS Troubleshooting Steps Performed (All Unsuccessful): We have performed an extensive series of troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue, none of which have worked. These steps include: Basic Project Cleaning: Cleaned the build folder (Product > Clean Build Folder). Deleted the entire DerivedData directory. Deleted the project's xcuserdata folder. Xcode & System Procedures: Restarted Xcode multiple times. Rebooted the Mac multiple times. Reinstalled Xcode Command Line Tools using xcode-select --install. Reset the Xcode path using sudo xcode-select --reset and sudo xcode-select -s /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer. Forced an update of the system's shared cache with xcrun simctl runtime dyld_shared_cache update --all. Project Build Settings Verification (for Debug configuration): Build Configuration: Verified that the "Run" scheme is set to Debug. Optimization Level: Confirmed it is set to No Optimization [-O0]. Debug Information Format: Confirmed it is set to DWARF with dSYM File. Strip Swift Symbols: Confirmed it is set to No. (This was a new setting noticed after the Xcode update). Enable Hardened Runtime: Attempted setting this to both Yes and No. The issue persists in both cases. Validate Workspace: Confirmed it is set to Yes. Code Signing: Verified that "Automatically manage signing" is enabled with a valid team. Manually deleted and re-created the "Apple Development" certificates via Xcode's Accounts settings. Direct LLDB Testing: Created a ~/.lldbinit file. Using breakpoint list, confirmed that LLDB starts with "No breakpoints currently set," indicating that Xcode is likely not passing the breakpoints to the debugger. Using settings set target.process.stop-on-entry true, confirmed that the app still does not stop on entry, suggesting the debugger is failing to attach to the process at all. Conclusion: Given that all standard and advanced troubleshooting steps have failed, and the issue started immediately after updating both macOS and Xcode to a non-public release (Tahoe 26.1 / Xcode 26.1), this appears to be a regression or a bug in the new development environment. The failure of stop-on-entry strongly suggests a fundamental issue with the debugger attachment process on this specific OS and Xcode combination.

Under Xcode 26 beta 3, how to support new glass icons for iOS 26 and old icons for iOS 18?
I know there are several existing threads on this topic but things keep changing. The release notes for Xcode 26 beta 3 have the following statements for a couple of resolved issues: Asset Catalog Fixed: Unable to set Icon Composer icon as alternate iOS icon (153305178) (FB18025356) Icon Composer Fixed: Icon Composer icons back deploy to older versions of iOS, macOS, and watchOS with inconsistent rendering. (152258860) I had a working solution under beta 1 and beta 2 for both of these. But under beta 3, I am now seeing the new glass icons for my app when running on a simulated iOS 18 device. This is happening for both the main app icon and any alternates. This contradicts the statement that beta 3 fixes this issue. There is no documentation (that I can find) describing how you are supposed to support old icons for iOS 18 and new glass icons for iOS 26. There is no documentation for how to support alternate glass icons for iOS 26. What I'm doing at the moment (that worked before beta 3) was to have the normal iOS 18 app icons in the Asset catalog and to have the new glass icons added to the project. The filenames for the glass .icon files have the same name as the app icons in the Assets catalog. This worked under beta 1 and beta 2. And despite the Xcode 26 beta 3 release notes stating that Icon Composer icons no longer back deploy to iOS 18, I'm seeing the opposite. Beta 3 now does the opposite of that statement. Does anyone have a working solution that supports old iOS 18 app icons and new iOS 26 glass icons using Xcode 26 beta 3? Note, all of my testing is with simulated iOS devices and I'm running Xcode 26 beta 3 under macOS 15.5. Maybe that's an issue?

Xcode26 beta.2 build error
I am writing to report multiple issues encountered after updating to Xcode 26 Beta, which have significantly impacted my project's compilation and functionality. My project can run normally in Xcode16.3 version, Below are the specific problems, along with the steps I took to address them and the subsequent errors that arose: Symbol Not Found Error for _NSUserActivityTypeBrowsingWeb After updating to Xcode 26 Beta, my project failed to build with the error: "Symbol not found: _NSUserActivityTypeBrowsingWeb." To resolve this, I removed the MobileCoreServices framework from the Build Settings, as it appeared to be related. However, this led to a new error, indicating that this change introduced further complications. Clang++ Error: No Such File or Directory 'OpenGLES' Following the resolution of the first issue, I encountered a new error: "iOS clang++: error: no such file or directory: 'OpenGLES'." To address this, I added the OpenGLES.framework to the Build Phases. While this resolved the clang++ error, it triggered additional errors, suggesting that the underlying issue persists or new dependencies are conflicting. Recurring XIB File Compilation Errors My project uses XIB files, and every time I attempt to compile and run, Xcode reports errors related to different XIB files. Notably, when I open the reported XIB file, no errors are displayed within the Interface Builder. After saving or inspecting the file, the compilation error temporarily disappears, only for another XIB file to trigger the same issue in the next build. This creates a repetitive cycle. I have confirmed this is not a caching issue, as I clean the build cache (Product > Clean Build Folder) before each run. If I skip cleaning the cache, the OpenGLES-related error (Issue 2) reappears, indicating potential interactions between these problems. These issues have made development with Xcode 26 Beta extremely challenging, as each attempted fix seems to introduce new errors, and the XIB issue creates a persistent loop. My setup includes: Xcode Version: 26.0 beta 2 (17A5241o) macOS Version:15.4.1 (24E263)

Xcode26: download stuck on 'fetching'
I just downloaded Xcode26, and am trying to download the new simulator to be able to run and test my app. But the downloads folder just shows that it's stuck on "Fetching download information ..." even 15 minutes after it started. I tried restarting Xcode but didn't help. Internet connection is good. Any tips to get it working?

Xcode 26.4 cannot run app-hosted unit tests on physical iOS 16 devices ("Logic Testing Unavailable")
Summary: After upgrading to Xcode 26.4, app-hosted XCTest execution on physical devices running iOS 16 fails at test-planning time with "Logic Testing Unavailable." The same project and same device work under Xcode 26.2. The failure reproduces with a standalone minimal Xcode project, which suggests this is an Xcode regression rather than a project-configuration issue. Environment: Xcode: 26.4 (17E192) macOS: Tahoe 26.4 Failing device: iPhone 11 (iPhone12,1), iOS 16.0.3 Working comparisons: Xcode 26.2 + same iPhone 11 (iOS 16.0.3): works Xcode 26.4 + iPad Pro 11-inch (4th generation) on iOS 26.3: works Regression: Yes. Works on Xcode 26.2. Fails on Xcode 26.4. Same project, same signing setup, same physical iOS 16 device. Minimal reproduction: A minimal sample project with: one iOS app target one app-hosted unit-test target one UI-test target (for comparison; not required to reproduce) Steps for the unit-test repro on a physical device running iOS 16: Build for testing: xcodebuild -project TestProject.xcodeproj \ -scheme TestProject-UnitTests \ -sdk iphoneos \ -destination 'platform=iOS,id=<DEVICE_UDID>' \ -derivedDataPath DerivedData-Device-Unit \ -resultBundlePath Results-Device-Unit-Build.xcresult \ DEVELOPMENT_TEAM=<TEAM_ID> \ CODE_SIGN_STYLE=Automatic \ build-for-testing Run tests without building: xcodebuild -project TestProject.xcodeproj \ -scheme TestProject-UnitTests \ -sdk iphoneos \ -destination 'platform=iOS,id=<DEVICE_UDID>' \ -derivedDataPath DerivedData-Device-Unit \ -resultBundlePath Results-Device-Unit-Test.xcresult \ DEVELOPMENT_TEAM=<TEAM_ID> \ CODE_SIGN_STYLE=Automatic \ test-without-building Note: xcodebuild test (combined build and test) also fails with the same error. Expected result: The hosted unit tests run successfully on the connected physical device, as they do under Xcode 26.2. Actual result: Step 1 (build-for-testing) succeeds. Step 2 (test-without-building) fails immediately (within ~1 second) with: 2026-03-26 11:23:28.683 xcodebuild[51930:731004] DVTDeviceOperation: Encountered a build number "" that is incompatible with DVTBuildVersion. 2026-03-26 11:23:28.725 xcodebuild[51930:730966] [MT] DVTDeviceOperation: Encountered a build number "" that is incompatible with DVTBuildVersion. 2026-03-26 11:23:29.239 xcodebuild[51930:730966] Writing error result bundle to /var/folders/jl/knmkq18x4cg_3w087zgpfldm0000gn/T/ResultBundle_2026-26-03_11-23-0029.xcresult xcodebuild: error: Failed to build project TestProject with scheme TestProject-UnitTests.: Cannot test target “redacted” on “redacted”: Logic Testing Unavailable Logic Testing on iOS devices is not supported. You can run logic tests on the Simulator. Why this looks like an Xcode regression: The same project and same physical iOS 16.0.3 device work under Xcode 26.2. Under Xcode 26.4, build-for-testing still succeeds, so signing, provisioning, and bundle construction appear valid. The failure happens only when Xcode plans or launches the on-device test run. Before the failure, Xcode 26.4 logs: DVTDeviceOperation: Encountered a build number "" that is incompatible with DVTBuildVersion. A newer physical device running iOS 26.3 works under Xcode 26.4 without this warning. The issue also reproduces with a minimal standalone Xcode project, which makes a project-specific configuration problem unlikely. The Xcode-generated .xctestrun files for the passing Xcode 26.2 case and failing Xcode 26.4 case are structurally equivalent, making an .xctestrun format difference unlikely to be the cause.

Upload Symbols Failed when Archiving with Xcode 16
Hello everyone, We are seeing some warnings in Xcode 16 when I archive my iOS app for distribution. During the upload phase (either via Xcode Organizer ), I get an error like: WARNING: Upload Symbols Failed The archive did not include a dSYM for MyFramework.framework with the UUIDs: XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX Ensure that the archive’s dSYM folder includes a DWARF file for MyFramework.framework with the expected UUIDs. Question: How can these warnings be fixed? Is this warning safe to ignore if I know the vendor does not supply a dSYM for their framework? If I do need a proper dSYM for full symbolication, how should I request it from the vendor or generate it myself from an XCFramework?

Existing Project Not Showing Installed iOS 26 Simulator (New Projects Work Fine)
Hello everyone, I'm encountering a frustrating issue with Xcode 26 and the iOS Simulator selection, and I'd appreciate any insight from the community. Problem Overview I have updated my Xcode to version 26.0. I have successfully installed the iOS 26 SDK and the iOS 26 Simulator runtime via Xcode's component settings. However, when I open an older, existing project, the device selection dropdown menu does not list the iOS 26 simulator. I can only select older versions, such as my locally installed iOS 18.6 simulator. Key Finding (Diagnosis) New Project Test: When I create a brand new Xcode project, the iOS 26 simulator is correctly available and runs as expected. Conclusion: This strongly suggests the issue lies with a specific configuration setting in the existing (old) project, rather than the Xcode installation itself. Troubleshooting Steps Taken I suspect a project-level configuration is somehow blocking the display of the new simulator. I've already checked: General -> Deployment Target: This is set to an older version, but theoretically shouldn't hide the simulator list. Build Settings -> Base SDK: This is set to the latest iOS SDK. Has anyone else experienced this behavior when upgrading projects to support iOS 26? What specific configuration files (e.g., .xcodeproj settings, Podfile configurations, or specific Build Settings) should I check to ensure my old project properly recognizes and displays the newly installed iOS 26 simulator? Any pointers or solutions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Xcode 16 Doesn't Display "Swift Compiler" Build Settings Sections
I am editing my iOS project in Xcode 16 and want to use the "Swift Compiler - Upcoming Features" section of the build settings to selectively enable the new Swift 6 language features. I have read the instructions for doing this and have dowloaded an Apple sample project and can see that section under the project and target-level Build Settings in the sample project However, when I open my Xcode project in XCode 16 that section does not appear. Is there any way for me to influence how Xcode 16 displays the build settings? In fact, no "Swift Compiler" sections appear at all under my project Build Settings (All | Combined). There is a "User-Defined" section that has the Swift Version, Compilation Mode and Optimization level. The project itself is several years old and was on a very old project version. I have upgraded my project document format to "Xcode 16" but it made no difference. I have compared my project and the sample project in a text editor and both seem to have similar structure. I tried removing unused and outdated settings from my project but that also had no effect. Is there an alternative to deleting my project file and adding the source files to it? I have a large project with multiple targets so that would be something I'd rather not do.

Compiling Swift Package with Dependency on Build Tool Plugin Fails in Xcode 26
Hi, in our Xcode project we have a Tooling package, which defines build tool plugins for generating compile time safe constants for our localization strings as well as assets using swiftgen. This is working very well in Xcode 16, but fails in Xcode 26 beta 1 and beta 2 as well. The failure is specifically: unsupported configuration: the aggregate target 'Localization' has package dependencies, but targets that build for different platforms depend on it. I've reduced this to a minimal sample project, which you can find here.. To reproduce: Open the Repro workspace, that is attached in Xcode. Try to build TestyPackage. You'll see the error. I've filed this bug during WWDC week, but no feedback yet and no solution in Xcode 26 beta 2. Here's the feedback number, in case you have this too and want to file a duplicate: FB17934050. Does anyone else have this issue and perhaps a solution?

Inside of the selectable canvas mode in Xcode, I wanted to command-control-click the element (in this case, a text) to bring up the editing popover and select "Show SwiftUI Inspector." Icon Composer suggestion: Export the icon transparent background
Currently, the icon composer app can only export the icon with a rounded app background image. It would be better to support exporting the icon with a transparent background. It can make the exported app icon image with the liquid glass effect for websites, social networks, or other marketing places. Thank you!

Xcode-beta 26: WARNING: error = 3→(76) INVALID_PERSONA; It is undefined behavior to look up a container with a persona other than personal or data separated. Please adopt a persona first. Assuming personal.
Any idea what this message means? I assume it's coming from CloudKit, but the application seems to store and retrieve data properly.
