BlendShapes don’t animate while playing animation in RealityKit
Hi everyone, I’m running into an issue with RealityKit when trying to animate BlendShapes (ShapeKeys) while a skeletal animation is playing. The model is a rigged character in .usdz format with both predefined skeletal animations and BlendShapes (exported from Blender). The problem: when I play any animation using entity.playAnimation(...), the BlendShapes stop responding. Calling setBlendShapes(...) still logs that weights are being updated, but the visual changes are not visible. The exact same blend shape animation works perfectly when no animation is playing. In SceneKit the same model works as expected: shape keys get animated during animation playback. But not in realitykit Still, as soon as an animation starts, the shape keys don’t animate anymore. Hi everyone I'm experiencing an issue with iPadOS 26 regarding multi-touch gesture detection. When performing a quick four-finger gesture (tap and swipe), the system often fails to recognize the input. This especially affects multi-touch gestures, such as rhythm games with difficult levels. Steps to Reproduce: Place four fingers on the screen. Perform a quick tap or a quick horizontal swipe (like the one used to switch apps). Observe whether the gesture is ignored or detected inconsistently. Expected Behavior: 4-finger multitouch gestures should be recognized regardless of gesture speed, just like previous iPadOS versions. Actual Behavior: Gestures fail to be detected when executed quickly—same gestures still work, and miss notes in rhythm games. Distortion Artifacts on VisionOS When Rendering Opaque/Alpha Clipped Foliage in URP (Unity 6.0, Metal)
I'm running into a persistent visual issue while deploying a floral corridor scene to Apple Vision Pro using Unity 6.0 with URP and Metal. The issue only appears on the Vision Pro device — everything looks fine in the Unity Editor. Issue Description When the frame rate drops to around 60–70 FPS, noticeable distortion artifacts appear around the edges of foliage models. It seems like the background meshes (behind the plants) get warped and leak through the edges of the foliage. Although this is most visible around the leaves, even solid objects like standard URP wall or box models show distorted edges when the issue occurs. All the foliage uses Opaque or Alpha Clipping materials. Things I've Tried Changing the foliage materials to Transparent mode —distortion around edges disappears, but using Transparent for a large number of foliage assets is not ideal for performance or sorting complexity. Reducing the number of foliage objects — with only a few plants in the scene and the frame rate staying around 100 FPS, the distortion disappears. However, this isn’t a practical solution for a full environment. Possible Cause? I came across this note in the Unity documentation: "Ensure depth-buffer for each pixel is non-zero - on visionOS, the depth buffer is used for reprojection. To ensure visual effects like skyboxes and shaders are displayed beautifully, ensure that some value is written to the depth for each pixel." Could this be related to the issue? Is it possible that Alpha Clipping with low pixel coverage leads to some pixels not writing to the depth buffer, which then causes problems during Vision Pro’s reprojection or foveated rendering? However, even when I disable Alpha Clipping entirely, the distortion issue still persists, so it may not be solely caused by clipping itself. Project Setup Unity 6.0 (URP) Depth Texture: Enable Using Metal as the graphics backend Running on real Vision Pro hardware (not simulator) Any advice on how to avoid these distortion issues on Vision Pro would be greatly appreciated. Can't remove annotations from PdfView
Hi everyone, I faced an issue that on IOS 26 removeAnnotation method doesn't remove annotation. This code worked on previous versions (IOS 18, 17) but suddenly stopped working on IOS 26. How to add and remove child entities to a rigged entity in RealityKit?
I am currently using RealityKit (perspective camera) to render a character in my swiftUI app. The character has customization such as clothing items and hair and all objects are properly weighted to the rig. The way the model is setup in Blender is like so: Groups of objects that will be swapped (ex: Shoes -> Shoes objects) and an armature. I then export it to usdc with all objects active. This is the resulting hierarchy: Before exporting for the animation (armature modifier applied), I simply had to store the Model entities and swap them in but now when I export with the Armature Modifier applied, so that animations get exported, the ModelComponent gets flattened to the armature and swapping entities and applying new materials to them is no longer as simple. Game Center SignIn alert appears on macOS 26 (Tahoe) without capability or entitlement
Hello, On macOS 26 (Tahoe), when building a OSX app that includes GameKit code, calling GKLocalPlayer.local.authenticateHandler shows the "Sign In to Game Center" alert (e.g. didShowFullscreenSignIn) — even if the app does not have the Game Center capability enabled or any related entitlement (com.apple.developer.game-center). This alert only appears when the user is not signed in to Game Center in system settings. However, when testing the same code path on iOS app built with macOS 26 (Tahoe), the alert does not appear unless the proper capability and entitlement are included. This behavior is different from macOS 15 (Sequoia) + Xcode 15.x. Prior to the update, Game Center features did not work at all even with the OSX app without Capability and Entitlements. Steps to Reproduce Create a new OSX app target (App Sandbox enabled, no Game Center capability). Add minimal GameKit code: GKLocalPlayer.local.authenticateHandler = { _, _, _ in } Build OSX app and run on macOS 26 (Tahoe). Ensure Game Center is signed out in System Settings. Observe: “Sign In to Game Center” alert appears automatically. Expected Behavior When Game Center capability and entitlement are not present, authenticateHandler should fail silently, and no signIn alert should appear. Actual Behavior On OSX app, the Game Center signIn UI appears even without any Game Center capability or entitlement. On iOS app, this alert does not appear. *Build Configuration: built with the same condition. (macOS 26 + Xcode 26) Question Could you please confirm whether this behavior is an intentional change in macOS 26 or a bug only for OSX apps in the GameKit authentication flow? Thank you.

Issues building Unity plug-in project: Cannot locate native library Apple.Core/Apple.GameKit for iOS
I'm having issues getting a well built package from the Apple Unity Plug-in project. When building the my game project in Unity the following error is printed to the console: Apple.Core.AppleNativeLibraryUtility] Cannot locate a Debug or Release Apple.Core native library for iOS. Please ensure that the build invocation (build.py, xcodebuild, or Xcode) compiled cleanly and that the build was configured to support Debug on iOS. As far as I can tell the build did compile cleanly, but I might be missing something. If anyone can see what I'm doing wrong or has any insight it would be greatly appreciated. Setup is the following: macOS Tahoe 26 Beta Xcode-beta Version 26.0 beta 3 (17A5276g) Unity Plug-in branch: 2025-beta1 Unity game project version: 2022.3.60f M1 Macbook Pro The built packages have been imported into the game project through the Unity Package Manager using the tarball option pointing to the built packages from the Unity Plug-in project. The APIs used are AudioPlaybackController, Entity.prepareAudio, Entity.play Videos of the expected and observed behavior are attached to the feedback FB19423059. The audio should be a consistent, repeating sound, but it seems oddly abbreviated and the volume varies unexpectedly. Thank you for investigating this issue.

ModelEntity(named:in:) fails to load USD file from RealityKitContent bundle with misleading error?
My experience has been that ModelEntity(named:in:) can be used to load a USD file with a simple structure consisting of entities and model entities, and, critically, it will flatten the entity hierarchy down to a single ModelEntity, presumably reducing the number of draw calls. However, can anyone verify that the following is true? If ModelEntity(named:in:) is used to load a USD file from a RealityKit content bundle, it may fail when the USD file contains more complex data, such as shader graph material definitions, or perhaps for some other reason. I am not sure. AND the error that ModelEntity(named:in:) throws in this case is Cannot load RealityKitContent entity: Failed to find resource with name "<name>" in bundle which would literally suggest that the file does not exist, instead of what I assume the error actually is, which is "the file exists but its entity hierarchy could not be flattened to a single ModelEntity" ? Is that an accurate description of the known behavior of ModelEntity:named:in:)? I understand that I could use Entity(named:in:) instead, without the flattening feature. My question is really more about the seemingly misleading error message. Thank you for any clarification you can provide.

Compute kernel fails to compile when calling texture.read()
If I compile a compute kernel with a call to texture.read(), it fails with the following error: "Error Domain=AGXMetalG13X Code=3 "Encountered unlowered function call to air.get_read_sampler" UserInfo={NSLocalizedDescription=Encountered unlowered function call to air.get_read_sampler}." This error occurs on both macOS and iOS 26 Beta 5, but not when running on a simulator or in a playground. It does not occur on a macOS Sequoia VM. It occurs whether I use the old metal 3 or new metal 4 compilation method. A workaround would be to use a sampler, but according to the feature tables, all platforms support reading from textures of all formats. BlendShapes don’t animate while playing animation in RealityKit
Hi everyone, I’m running into an issue with RealityKit when trying to animate BlendShapes (ShapeKeys) while a skeletal animation is playing. The model is a rigged character in .usdz format with both predefined skeletal animations and BlendShapes (exported from Blender). The problem: when I play any animation using entity.playAnimation(...), the BlendShapes stop responding. Calling setBlendShapes(...) still logs that weights are being updated, but the visual changes are not visible. The exact same blend shape animation works perfectly when no animation is playing. In SceneKit the same model works as expected: shape keys get animated during animation playback. But not in realitykit Still, as soon as an animation starts, the shape keys don’t animate anymore. Hi everyone I'm experiencing an issue with iPadOS 26 regarding multi-touch gesture detection. When performing a quick four-finger gesture (tap and swipe), the system often fails to recognize the input. This especially affects multi-touch gestures, such as rhythm games with difficult levels. Steps to Reproduce: Place four fingers on the screen. Perform a quick tap or a quick horizontal swipe (like the one used to switch apps). Observe whether the gesture is ignored or detected inconsistently. Expected Behavior: 4-finger multitouch gestures should be recognized regardless of gesture speed, just like previous iPadOS versions. Actual Behavior: Gestures fail to be detected when executed quickly—same gestures still work, and miss notes in rhythm games. Distortion Artifacts on VisionOS When Rendering Opaque/Alpha Clipped Foliage in URP (Unity 6.0, Metal)
I'm running into a persistent visual issue while deploying a floral corridor scene to Apple Vision Pro using Unity 6.0 with URP and Metal. The issue only appears on the Vision Pro device — everything looks fine in the Unity Editor. Issue Description When the frame rate drops to around 60–70 FPS, noticeable distortion artifacts appear around the edges of foliage models. It seems like the background meshes (behind the plants) get warped and leak through the edges of the foliage. Although this is most visible around the leaves, even solid objects like standard URP wall or box models show distorted edges when the issue occurs. All the foliage uses Opaque or Alpha Clipping materials. Things I've Tried Changing the foliage materials to Transparent mode —distortion around edges disappears, but using Transparent for a large number of foliage assets is not ideal for performance or sorting complexity. Reducing the number of foliage objects — with only a few plants in the scene and the frame rate staying around 100 FPS, the distortion disappears. However, this isn’t a practical solution for a full environment. Possible Cause? I came across this note in the Unity documentation: "Ensure depth-buffer for each pixel is non-zero - on visionOS, the depth buffer is used for reprojection. To ensure visual effects like skyboxes and shaders are displayed beautifully, ensure that some value is written to the depth for each pixel." Could this be related to the issue? Is it possible that Alpha Clipping with low pixel coverage leads to some pixels not writing to the depth buffer, which then causes problems during Vision Pro’s reprojection or foveated rendering? However, even when I disable Alpha Clipping entirely, the distortion issue still persists, so it may not be solely caused by clipping itself. Project Setup Unity 6.0 (URP) Depth Texture: Enable Using Metal as the graphics backend Running on real Vision Pro hardware (not simulator) Any advice on how to avoid these distortion issues on Vision Pro would be greatly appreciated. How to add and remove child entities to a rigged entity in RealityKit?
I am currently using RealityKit (perspective camera) to render a character in my swiftUI app. The character has customization such as clothing items and hair and all objects are properly weighted to the rig. The way the model is setup in Blender is like so: Groups of objects that will be swapped (ex: Shoes -> Shoes objects) and an armature. I then export it to usdc with all objects active. This is the resulting hierarchy: Before exporting for the animation (armature modifier applied), I simply had to store the Model entities and swap them in but now when I export with the Armature Modifier applied, so that animations get exported, the ModelComponent gets flattened to the armature and swapping entities and applying new materials to them is no longer as simple. Game Center SignIn alert appears on macOS 26 (Tahoe) without capability or entitlement
Hello, On macOS 26 (Tahoe), when building a OSX app that includes GameKit code, calling GKLocalPlayer.local.authenticateHandler shows the "Sign In to Game Center" alert (e.g. didShowFullscreenSignIn) — even if the app does not have the Game Center capability enabled or any related entitlement (com.apple.developer.game-center). This alert only appears when the user is not signed in to Game Center in system settings. However, when testing the same code path on iOS app built with macOS 26 (Tahoe), the alert does not appear unless the proper capability and entitlement are included. This behavior is different from macOS 15 (Sequoia) + Xcode 15.x. Prior to the update, Game Center features did not work at all even with the OSX app without Capability and Entitlements. Steps to Reproduce Create a new OSX app target (App Sandbox enabled, no Game Center capability). Add minimal GameKit code: GKLocalPlayer.local.authenticateHandler = { _, _, _ in } Build OSX app and run on macOS 26 (Tahoe). Ensure Game Center is signed out in System Settings. Observe: “Sign In to Game Center” alert appears automatically. Expected Behavior When Game Center capability and entitlement are not present, authenticateHandler should fail silently, and no signIn alert should appear. Actual Behavior On OSX app, the Game Center signIn UI appears even without any Game Center capability or entitlement. On iOS app, this alert does not appear. *Build Configuration: built with the same condition. (macOS 26 + Xcode 26) Question Could you please confirm whether this behavior is an intentional change in macOS 26 or a bug only for OSX apps in the GameKit authentication flow? Thank you.

Issues building Unity plug-in project: Cannot locate native library Apple.Core/Apple.GameKit for iOS
I'm having issues getting a well built package from the Apple Unity Plug-in project. When building the my game project in Unity the following error is printed to the console: Apple.Core.AppleNativeLibraryUtility] Cannot locate a Debug or Release Apple.Core native library for iOS. Please ensure that the build invocation (build.py, xcodebuild, or Xcode) compiled cleanly and that the build was configured to support Debug on iOS. As far as I can tell the build did compile cleanly, but I might be missing something. If anyone can see what I'm doing wrong or has any insight it would be greatly appreciated. Setup is the following: macOS Tahoe 26 Beta Xcode-beta Version 26.0 beta 3 (17A5276g) Unity Plug-in branch: 2025-beta1 Unity game project version: 2022.3.60f M1 Macbook Pro The built packages have been imported into the game project through the Unity Package Manager using the tarball option pointing to the built packages from the Unity Plug-in project. RealityKit spatial audio crackles and pops on iOS 26.0 beta 5. It works correctly on iOS 18.6 and visionOS 26.0 beta 5. The APIs used are AudioPlaybackController, Entity.prepareAudio, Entity.play Videos of the expected and observed behavior are attached to the feedback FB19423059. The audio should be a consistent, repeating sound, but it seems oddly abbreviated and the volume varies unexpectedly. Thank you for investigating this issue.

ModelEntity(named:in:) fails to load USD file from RealityKitContent bundle with misleading error?
My experience has been that ModelEntity(named:in:) can be used to load a USD file with a simple structure consisting of entities and model entities, and, critically, it will flatten the entity hierarchy down to a single ModelEntity, presumably reducing the number of draw calls. However, can anyone verify that the following is true? If ModelEntity(named:in:) is used to load a USD file from a RealityKit content bundle, it may fail when the USD file contains more complex data, such as shader graph material definitions, or perhaps for some other reason. I am not sure. AND the error that ModelEntity(named:in:) throws in this case is Cannot load RealityKitContent entity: Failed to find resource with name "<name>" in bundle which would literally suggest that the file does not exist, instead of what I assume the error actually is, which is "the file exists but its entity hierarchy could not be flattened to a single ModelEntity" ? Is that an accurate description of the known behavior of ModelEntity:named:in:)? I understand that I could use Entity(named:in:) instead, without the flattening feature. My question is really more about the seemingly misleading error message. Thank you for any clarification you can provide.

Compute kernel fails to compile when calling texture.read()
If I compile a compute kernel with a call to texture.read(), it fails with the following error: "Error Domain=AGXMetalG13X Code=3 "Encountered unlowered function call to air.get_read_sampler" UserInfo={NSLocalizedDescription=Encountered unlowered function call to air.get_read_sampler}." This error occurs on both macOS and iOS 26 Beta 5, but not when running on a simulator or in a playground. It does not occur on a macOS Sequoia VM. It occurs whether I use the old metal 3 or new metal 4 compilation method. A workaround would be to use a sampler, but according to the feature tables, all platforms support reading from textures of all formats. ShaderGraphMaterial.getParameter(handle:) always return nil, is this expected behavior?
I've loaded a ShaderGraphMaterial from a RealityKit content bundle and I'm attempting to access the initial values of its parameters using getParameter(handle:), but this method appears to always return nil: let shaderGraphMaterial = try await ShaderGraphMaterial(named: "MyMaterial", from: "MyFile") let namedParameterValue = shaderGraphMaterial.getParameter(name: "myParameter") // This prints the value of the `myParameter` parameter, as expected. print("namedParameterValue = \(namedParameterValue)") let handle = ShaderGraphMaterial.parameterHandle(name: "myParameter") let handleParameterValue = shaderGraphMaterial.getParameter(handle: handle) // Expected behavior: prints the value of the `myParameter` parameter, as above. // Observed behavior: prints `nil`. print("handleParameterValue = \(handleParameterValue)") Is this expected behavior? Based on the documentation at https://developer.apple.com/documentation/realitykit/shadergraphmaterial/getparameter(handle:) I'd expect getParameter(handle:) to return the value of the parameter, just as getParameter(name:) does. I've tested this on iOS 18.5 and iOS 26.0 beta 2. Assuming this getParameter(handle:) works as designed, is the following ShaderGraphMaterial extension an appropriate workaround, or can you recommend a better approach?
