Hi, I’m trying to detect whether my Safari Web Extension is running in Safari or Safari Technology Preview. Is there a reliable way to do that? I can get the executable path of the parent process using proc_pidpath(). However, unlike Chrome or Firefox, Safari extensions run under /sbin/launchd as the parent process, not the responsible process (browser’s binary). In this scenario, I need the executable path of the actual browser process, but I haven’t found a way to get it. Also, Safari doesn’t implement the Web Extension API’s browser.runtime.getBrowserInfo(), unlike Firefox. I haven’t tested it yet, but I’m considering checking the user agent string, though I’m not sure how reliable that would be. Use Case Some users use my Safari extension as a web development tool and want to enable some features exclusively in Safari Technology Preview, while using other features only in standard Safari. If I could detect which browser is in use, I could provide the appropriate functionality for them.

I have compiled some Java code to WebAssembly via TeaVM and wrapped it in a PWA. The resulting code runs nicely in Firefox and Chrome but throws an exception in Safari. CompileError: WebAssembly.Module doesn't parse at byte 1657: invalid extended GC op 24, in function at index 2251 Can anybody tell me what's wrong with that code? I mean it can't be so bad if Firefox and Chrome can parse and run it without problems. Hi, I’m working with the SFExtensionProfileKey in my Safari Web Extension. As I understand it, this key is to get the UUID of the profile currently in use. However, it seems to be missing (no key in userInfo) when the default profile is active. Also, I haven’t found any API to get a profile’s human-readable name or list all available profiles. Could someone clarify: If the value of SFExtensionProfileKey is absent, can I safely assume the default profile is in use? Is there a supported way to get a profile’s display name? Does Safari expose an API for getting all profiles? Thanks in advance for your insights!

I am developing an SSO Extension so that I can have SSO with Keycloak across applications. OIDC/OAuth2 works very well. But I am struggling with SAML. It works, but it seems that the form submission is always triggered twice. I use decisionHandler(.cancel) to stop the form submission and redirect it to the browser. I still get the form submitted both by the extension and by the browser. At some point I tried to allow the form submission in the Extension so that I get the redirect with the response to the browser. It still triggered another submission. Does anyone experience this issue?

I am a newby to JavaScript, suggested to me to use to automate the task of opening of a Web page, selecting three internal buttons in sequence to download the underlying chart data. I have created the App via Automator on macOS, to run the Script, successfully open the Web Page, but cannot find a way to select and click() on the buttons. Can someone please help me. Robert. I have a UI application built with the Vue framework, using Vuetify for the UI components. There's a div with the class v-application--wrap, which is provided by Vuetify. Upon investigation, we discovered that the min-height property was no longer being interpreted or applied correctly. Replacing min-height with height resolved the issue, and the pages began loading as expected. Any insights into why this behavior is occurring would be greatly appreciated.

In my application, I use HTML pages to display the interface. Since it’s a cross-platform app, the pages and interactions work properly on other platforms. However, in WebKit, because HTTPS protocol is used, JS requests from the page cannot use the ws protocol but must use the wss protocol under HTTPS. Is there any way to allow a webpage under HTTPS to use ws requests normally? Google Chrome can do this.

In the safari or chrome app, when I want to change tabs, I can go into a grid view of the tabs. In this grid, each tab shows the content of the page. When I click on one of the tabs, the content of the page expands to fill the entire screen (and shrinks when I go back to grid). I'm creating my own browser and I'm trying to replicate this same functionality. I'm using WebKit on XCode 16.4, iOS 18. However, I'm unable to figure out how Chrome and Safari did this. First, I thought that I could take a snapshot of the page and then use that image as the thumbnail. However, very often the image is of the wrong size - likely due to the webview shrinking for the animation. Making the animation wait until the image is made available did help in making it more consistent. The above errors happen whenever I spam the new tab and then click the tab grid button. It only is misaligned on the very last new tab. So I have web Augmented Reality apps hosted on AWS S3. It worked fine for a month, but as soon as the IOS 18.4 update was installed they stopped working. It works on every other device and IOS versions. The URLs for the mentioned AR experiences: digitechonline.in/solsprefimaginewt8/ digitechonline.in/solsprefimaginewt8p2/ digitechonline.in/orocarear/ These AR experiences get stuck on the loading screen and either reload or give an error. Ideally the camera is supposed to open. I have tested it on Safari, Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome browsers. They were created through Unity webgl and hosted on AWS S3 bucket. Please provide a quick solution to this.

Everything works correctly from a rendering point of view, but we are now exploring ways to track user interactions with the embedded player, specifically events such as: start, play, pause, progress milestones (e.g. 25%, 50%, etc.). This data would be used to send analytics events to Adobe Analytics. So far, we haven’t found any documentation or JavaScript API that would allow us to listen to these events. I have a website that has been built in Wordpress and hosted on wordpress engine. In testing now and on the i phone with safari browser it keeps crashing after short time 2/3 minutes, content does not display properly pages go blank etc. Has anyone experienced this /have a solution? Thanks
