Family Controls entitlement missing from Distribution Provisioning Profile — Archive fails for App Store
Hi, I’m building an iOS app that uses FamilyControls to let users block distracting apps during study sessions. Everything works fine in Debug on a real device: the authorization request succeeds and app blocking works correctly. The problem is when I try to create an Archive for App Store Connect. Xcode gives me this error: “Provisioning profile ‘iOS Team Store Provisioning Profile: com.(ID)’ doesn’t include the com.apple.developer.family-controls entitlement.” I also get a warning saying that my bundle identifier is using the development-only version of the Family Controls capability and that I should request access to the distribution version. I’ve already added the Family Controls capability, enabled the required entitlements, and I’m using automatic signing. I also tried enabling the capability for my App ID in the Apple Developer portal, but it either doesn’t save or the distribution profile still doesn’t include the entitlement. Does the Family Controls distribution entitlement require approval from Apple before it can be used in an App Store build? If so, where do I request it? Has anyone successfully published an app using FamilyControls and run into this issue? Thanks.

testflight issues with subscription
I’m experiencing an issue with subscriptions that behave differently between Xcode builds and TestFlight. Subscriptions work correctly when running the app directly from Xcode in a sandbox environment, but they do not work as expected when testing the same build through TestFlight. Has anyone experienced a similar issue with subscriptions working in Xcode but failing in TestFlight? Any guidance on what to check or debug would be appreciated. Additional details: iOS version: [ IOS 26] StoreKit version: [ StoreKit 2] TestFlight: When attempting to load the subscription products, the app returns “Product not found”. In some cases, it also shows the error “The subscription is unavailable in the current storefront”. This happens consistently in TestFlight, even though the same products load and work correctly when running the app from Xcode in the sandbox environment. Thanks

Can I move Xcode files to an external SSD safely?
Hi everyone, I’m running out of space on my Mac and I need to use an external SSD to free up room, especially because Xcode is taking a lot of storage. I want to know if it’s safe to move some Xcode files—projects, derived data, or system-related files—to an external SSD. Which files can I move safely, and which should stay on the internal drive? I want to avoid breaking anything or causing issues with Xcode or macOS. Also, is it the same situation if I use an external HDD instead of an SSD? Are there additional risks or performance issues to consider?

Is it safe to run Xcode from an external drive?
I’m currently facing a disk space limitation on my Mac. I’ve already freed up some storage by following the suggestions shared in a previous post, which helped partially, but the issue is not fully resolved and space is still a bottleneck for my workflow. To move forward, I’d like to ask a very concrete question: Is it safe and supported to move Xcode to an external hard drive (SSD), use it from there, and simply connect the drive whenever I need to work with Xcode? Specifically: Are there known issues with performance, stability, or updates? Are there components that must remain on the internal disk to avoid unexpected behavior? Is this a reasonable long-term setup, or just a temporary workaround? I want to make sure I’m not setting myself up for hidden problems down the road. Thanks in advance for any clarification or best practices you can share.

Xcode Using 90GB with ~/Library/Developer — What Can I Safely Clean?
Hi everyone, I’m an iOS developer working on a Mac with limited storage (256 GB). I’ve noticed that the ~/Library/Developer folder is taking up almost 90 GB, mainly due to Xcode-related content. Inside it I see folders like: Xcode/DerivedData DocumentationCache iOS DeviceSupport UserData CoreSimulator/Devices Before deleting anything, I’d like to understand which of these folders are safe to clean up, and what the potential side effects might be (for example, rebuild times, simulator re-downloads, etc.). What is the recommended best practice to manage disk space when using Xcode on a low-storage machine? Thanks in advance for your help.

something that's probably easy to fix but it's driving me crazy
hy! apple developer community! No, I have a problem that's driving me crazy: Multiple commands produce '/Users/giulia/Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData/ScheduledStudy-dcmmhcdncitvfkdditbjoipfalqg/Build/Products/Debug-iphonesimulator/singintestwidgetExtension.appex/Info.plist'. Can you help me fix it? I know it's probably stupid, but I've been trying to fix it for days. There aren't two info.plist file, and that's why I don't quite understand. If you could help me, you'd be doing me a favor. Thanks for your time. P.S. I'm sorry, but I'm just starting out with programming and I'm also quite young.
