Reply to [Texas SB 2420] How to Retrieve Parental Consent Status
Dear DTS Engineer, Thank you for your response. I have reviewed the documentation you shared and believe I have a general understanding of its contents. While we appreciate that these APIs are being provided, there is no clear guidance on how developers should specifically comply with SB2420, which appears to be causing some confusion among developers. Since I do not reside in Texas, I am unable to verify the actual behavior even if I implement the solution based solely on the documentation. starting with Texas, For that reason, I asked how the app is expected to behave when a parent or guardian denies consent for the SignificantAppUpdateTopic. If parental consent has been granted for the app, the minor is allowed to use (launch) the app. If parental consent has been revoked, the minor is not allowed to use (launch) the app. Thank you for your continued assistance.

Reply to [Texas SB 2420] How to Retrieve Parental Consent Status
Here is some additional context. What we are trying to do is: If the user is a minor residing in Texas, we want to check the parental consent status for the app, and restrict access if parental consent has not been granted. We understand that AskCenter.responses(for:) can receive a temporary parental consent response for the SignificantAppUpdateTopic. However, as mentioned in my initial post, we understand that parents or guardians residing in Texas will be able to revoke their consent for an app. Will such changes in consent also be detectable via AskCenter.responses(for:)? We are aware that there is a mechanism for receiving server notifications for revocations: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/appstoreservernotifications/notificationtype Alternatively: If parental consent has been granted for the app, the minor is allowed to use (launch) the app. If parental consent has been revoked, the minor is not allowed to use (launch) the app. Will the our app behave this way? If so, then to comply with Texas SB2420, would the only responsibility for developers be to request parental consent when a significant app update occurs?
