I have multiple apps that have been in “Waiting for Review” since October 8, and I’m finding the lack of progress increasingly frustrating.
I suspect the growing use of AI-assisted development may be contributing to a significant increase in app submissions. If that’s the case, it’s understandable that Apple’s review team may be dealing with a higher volume than usual. However, it also raises questions about whether the current review process is adequately equipped to handle that growth.
I’ve been submitting apps for years, and I remember when reviews were generally completed much more quickly. The difference between then and now is noticeable.
I understand that Apple’s guidelines outline several reasons why an app review might take longer. However, those explanations don’t necessarily help developers understand why their particular submissions remain in the queue for an extended period.
My frustration isn’t simply about having to wait. It’s about the lack of visibility into what’s happening. If review times have increased because of submission volume, additional review requirements, or other operational factors, it would be helpful for Apple to communicate that.
Developers invest considerable time and effort into building, testing, and preparing their applications for release. Unpredictable review timelines make it difficult to plan launches, coordinate updates, and manage expectations.
I’m not asking for preferential treatment or immediate approval. I’m simply asking for greater transparency, more realistic review timelines, and better communication when delays occur.
I’d also be interested to know whether other developers are experiencing similar delays with submissions made in early October.
