Reply to App not appearing in App Store search for over 6 weeks — including branded searches for its own name
UPDATE: Resolved The issue has been fixed, and the app now appears in App Store search, including for its exact name. I also want to close the loop on the cause, in case it helps others in the same situation. According to what I was told, the problem started when I switched the app from paid-only to freemium on Dec 31, 2025. That change set an internal flag on Apple's side that was never cleared, and it kept the app out of search results. It had nothing to do with ranking or my metadata, which is why the metadata update, the remove-and-re-add from sale, and the app updates had no effect. If your app went invisible in search right after a pricing model change, especially paid to freemium, it's worth mentioning that specific transition when you contact Apple. "My app isn't showing up" gets the generic "we don't guarantee placement" reply. "My app disappeared from search, including branded queries, right after I changed its pricing model" points the investigation at the right place. Thanks to everyone who shared their own experiences in this thread and the linked ones.
