Can not drag screenshots and "Choose file" is disabled

If I try to submit for review it shows me an error because I have not added the screenshots.

But in the screebshots field just said: "Using 5.5-Inch Display app preview and screenshots."

(I know other sizes have this option, but the same message is in the 5.5-Inch section)

The problem is that I can not drag the images and "Choose file" is disabled.

The only button enable is "Media Manager", but has the same problem

Help pls!!!!

OK, think I've cracked it. This is what worked for me ...

Initially my primary, and only, language was English UK.

  • I added English US as a second language.
  • I then set US to primary and went in and added my images (it now let me do so).
  • Switching to UK (from the language drop-down) I ticked the option to use the US images (top right tick box, appears when there is more than one language).
  • I saved everything.
  • I then switched to UK as primary.
  • Saved everywhere again.
  • Then deleted English US.
  • My images were still there 🙂
  • App submitted!

update: having now submitted the app, whilst it's still "waiting for review", I've been able to upload more screenshots, everything seems to work as it's supposed to. The trick therefore is just getting that initial "primary" image uploaded.

.Same here.. Extremelly annoying

Can someone help, we are also facing the same issue. Annoying !

Same issue. Waiting for fixed.

Same here, can't submit for approval without submitting a 5.5 + iPad Pro image (which I have ready to go), and can't submit these images because the "choose file" option is grayed out for those sections.

Also waiting for answer...

Same here. This is crazy. It delays my app life cycle. iPhone 5.5 inch is uneditable. I don't understand why they're making this new media manger thing avabile before fixing all crirtical bugs. And there's one more thing, the new media manager would change your screenshots for other sizes to 5.5 size without any notification. I sumit an app days ago, and yesterday's media manager just messed up everything for me. So I have written a letter to Apple review team about this, no answer yet.

By the way, not a fan of the new screeeshot simplification thing, it's a mess.

Yep. Me too. Is this the best way to get the attention of Apple?

Lol. I sent this to Apple.

A serious issue needs Apple's attention. https://forums.developer.apple.com/thread/54168. Check this link out. A lot of people are having their app delayed due to unable to upload screenshots to iTunes Connect. I know this is second time I'm writing about this. But really, I'm just helping you guys to build a better user experience. So let me introduce the issue again in an apple way.

I noticed an issue in iTunes Connect that contributes to a lower quality user experience than Apple developers expect.

Specifically, I noticed that developer can't drag or add files to 5.5 inch screenshots area anymore on Mac - Safari on Wi-Fi when connected to a network. Please referred the link/s I gave you guys below for more information.

Next Steps

Please run iTunes Connect. Upload a few screenshots for 5.5 inch, and tap delete all to identify the issue(s), then revise and update iTunes Connect.

If I misunderstood the intended behavior of iTunes Connect, please reply to this message as an Email to provide information on how these features were intended to work.

If you have difficulty reproducing the issue(s), reply for more informations.

If you have code-level questions after utilizing the above resources, ask Tim Cook or whoever is in charge.

for me, i could edit the 5.5 screenshots. but then, when i tried to add even 1 screenshot for a localization, it told me "the maximum is 5." could not save. came back later to add 4.7 inch screens, all 5 uploaded okay, but the the error message was "there is an error for 1 of your localizations" - which one? the primary one. what's the error? no idea. again, cannot save. i'd post dropbox screenshot links, but everytime my message gets moderated.

seems like the whole system is completely messed up. they need to just admit the fail, and revert back to the previous one so we can at least get our apps out.

lol

Introduction

If your iTC UI looks like it was cobbled together in a few days, or you're trying to push a new UI in place just to impress developers, please brace yourself for objection. You have lots of serious developers who don't want their quality apps to be put on hold by amateur hour.

Design

Apple developers place a high value on tools that are simple, refined, innovative, and easy to use, and that’s what we want to see in iTunes Connect. Coming up with a great design is up to you, but the following are minimum standards for approval by Developers.

Minimum Functionality - Your tools should include features, content, and an across the board UI that elevate it beyond a repackaged website. If any part of iTunes Connect UI is not particularly useful, unique, or “tool-like,” it doesn’t belong in front of devs.

UI Completeness

Dev-facing tools should be final versions with all necessary metadata and fully functional URLs included; placeholder text, empty websites, and other temporary content should be scrubbed before submission. Make sure your UI has been tested on-device for bugs and stability before you release it. Please don’t treat iTunes Connect as a software testing service. Devs will reject incomplete features that crash or exhibit obvious technical problems.

Yeah, definately, I completely agree. From all the posts I checked, there are really problems everywhere. Our apps are just stuck now, I am just so... I really don't know what to say. Experience like this, really... I am even tired to say.

But I think now, seems like no body could sumit app to review anymore? right? So they must noticed the issue, but how long can they fix it, I really don't know. I am just tired of this, I'm screwed by this entire media manager thing.

My app can't get out. This is crazy. They should really relase a beta version for this. Such a obvious bug, could be easily discovered!!! And now the mess like this, I am just speechless...

Whatever, I used to it.

Hey guys. It's still not fixed at least for me. Any progress? Please leave a update if Apple responds to this, greatly appriate it.

I was able to add the iPad Pro screenshot by adding an additional language, adding the screenshot with that language selected, then deleting the additional language. The screenshot persisted.

I wasn't able to repeat this trick for the 5.5 iPhone image however (my app is universal), so I'm still stuck 😟

My primary language is locked, and no matter what I do (add a new language in the app information or add a new localized discription), I couldn't change my primary language. You know anything about that?
