Can I submit a new version to TestFlight while a minor one is waiting for App Store release approval?

So here's the thing:

A version of my app is in waiting for review status from Apple before it can be released to the App Store. Would submitting a newer version of the same app to TestFlight cause any problems?

Has anyone ever experienced this or done it without any causing any conflict/issues?

I don't think you can have 2 versions in submission for the same app.

I once tried to cancel a submitted version and submit a new one. But that did block all the process, until I reactivated the first one, wait for its acceptance and submit immediately a new one.
